So many takeaways from this interview! 1. You only need 3-7 ghostwriting clients to be financially successful 2. Make long form deep value posts helping people with a problem 3. Make the benefit so big and the effort required so little for “here’s how to…” posts 4. Follow the 100 creators, influencers, accounts you want to be like or succeed in their space and comment on their posts 5. You can sell and buy retweets and shoutouts 6. Post consistently valuable content you are learning or interested in
This was such a powerful episode. I'm from SA, and I just realised I was doing thee exact same thing back in about 2013, however with far lesser results. Thank u for the great insight
It's really inspiring to see the journey of Dakota. Actually I will sit down and rethink my strategies for social media and try to improve my process. Thanks the futur & Chris 🙌🏻
Currently on my entrepreneurial journey by creating a following for my business. Things like this sound so simple, but there are so many emotional complexes with people online that marketing to them is nearly if not mostly impossible. With a mentor like Dakota, I'm 100% sure you can get there. Glad you provided insight Dakota.
34:16 I'm still confused about the growth content and what that is. I totally get the personal and authority content but not sure what an example of growth content would be. Great interview! EDIT: wait so I think I got it. Personal content would be a story about your upbringing and how it lead you to videography. Authority Content would be how you helped XYZ business with video marketing. And Growth Content would be a post like "5 Best Accessories for Filming Solo." Basically, Growth Content is content that attracts potential clients to your social media through valuable information. Right? lol
What is the 3rd book i can’t make out what Dakota said I’ve listened 5 times it sounds like he says the book on copyrighting is called writing for caffritising but I can’t locate it? Anyone know? Amazing interview btw thank you!
Great interview. One suggestion cutting off those gaps at long and serious conversations like these sounds robotic and weird. It would be much better and can emotionally connect if you don't crop off the gaps and let it be natural. Thanks for sharing this Futur team.
there's a saying: followers don't equal dollars. but then they'd be missing the boat. we are now living in the attention economy and creators/influencers are changing the game. The future is a $4.5m business on its way to becoming $8m this year. I for one, have had many opportunities to be a keynote speaker and "influencer" with big brands because of my followers & relationship I have with them. A major book publisher just offered me a book deal, where when I was unknown had to chase them down. you decide.
@@thefutur yes, I understand that and that's why I'm a religious follower but i was referring to businesses, SME's. A large following doesn't translate to anything if they are not buying... Congrats on the book deal
@@thefutur “because of my followers & relationship I have with them” That conditions that you reach those followers with your content. What organic reach do you have, 4-12% perhaps? That means you must pay for attention. My point was that generating and cultivating a relevant audience is more important than chasing a high follow count. Ref. 1000 True Fans by Kevin Kelly.

Chris, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and wisdom. I love watching your videos, I'm absorbing everything you say like a sponge. You inspire me to work hard and make my own high quality content!
amazing quality content as always! I know the younger generation may prefer the shorter style videos, but the details are where its at! your the man Chris. 🙌🙌🙌
One question for Dakota, with all these changes on Twitter (acquisition by Elon Musk, for example), does he still believe that it is a good platform yet? Thank you for the interview! Best of luck!
Chris, you are mentioning at around 36:50 that, in terms of the three-pillars-idea, you are missing out on the personal one. I just thought i have to mention here that you dont need to do extra work on this one - In my mind you dont need to share personal stuff, since you achieve the personal connection part with us as a community through interviews like this one, not to mention all the past years of great content which you served in your very own (personality interwinding) way! I didnt need to know about your very personal life struggles in order to become an evangelist of you
The wisest thing that is in everyone's minds today is to invest in different income flows that do not depend on the government, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver and digital currencies (BTC, ETH....)

I was also definitely a little confused... I think it's just anything that has potential to draw in new eyes who previously knew nothing about you.
It's highly inspiring to see someone on a similar journey succeed. One day I'll be on this channel for a podcast interview
Thats a cool goal, hope you succeed!

you got this.
haha wow that's amazing
why are there so many cut scenes in a interview?
Really valuable info for content creators, thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
@21:56 you're paying for 'Word of Mouth' which is the number 1 successful marketing tool.
Excellent! Digging deep.

What's the second book he recommended? I rewinded many times but couldn't hear him.
I wish I learned this stuff three years ago
If you want to get paid for retweets or reshares, is there a specific place to advertise to do that? where would one go to do that?

Episode is 56min after the cuts. Once it gets over 60 min people may not clicks. Futur doesn’t do this in most episodes
Creating my company’s 2023 social media strategy right now. Definitely adding a lot of these ideas to it! Thank you 🙏
Thanks lot, this was really valuable information
as always, amazing conversation with amazing insights:)) THANKS:)) actually, I believe Dakota is already damn good at speaking:))
Sir how did you do the super white text "GROWTH HACK"????
Dakota mentioned 2 apps/software he uses. Does anyone recall? Thanks in advance. Awesome episode.

Most people and businesses do not need *more* followers. That alone is seldom a solution.
Followers ≠ sales
