    So check out delium tires. Almost half the price of maxxis and just as good if not better. Rumor has it that delium used to manufacture maxxis tires then maxxis decided they didn’t want to pay someone else to make them anymore so delium started their own line

    My favorite light-weight fast-rolling tire combo is the 2.6 Ikon rear and 2.6 Rekon front. The Ikon has a very consistent drifting quality that I like. The Rekon provides way more traction on the front that you would expect. I get the 60tpi dual compound versions for more durability. The Minion DHF is just to heavy and slow rolling for me.

    Still have my Marlin, got the Roscoe 9. I love it too.
    I'm happy with the Bontrager tires.
    Nice video. Thank you. Happy riding.

    I just put the 2.3 on the front of my full sup. bike...replacing Specialized Ground Control. Can't wait to try it out on single track here in Houston.

    I ride my roscoe dhrII in the front and Rekon in the back. Fast and holds.

    yea I was riding a schwalbe Has dampf 2.6 front and a 2.3 Continitall mountain king rear with insert last year. Before I ran a highroller front (2.3) with the same rear tire. now a=I am running a 2.3 DHF (maxxterrra and the same highroller I used in the front for the rear.( no insert)

    Ikon is too tame for aggressive riding, even in the rear: it is not the center knobs, rather the side knobs that lack the grip.
    If you want a fast rolling combo for dry/mostly dry, I'd say a Rekon Race rear with a Rekon or new Forekaster front would be better, at least for a playful, zippy trail bike.
    I general think Ikon < Ardent < Rekon Race < Rekon = Forekaster < Dissector < Agressor < DHR/DHF < Assegai (I miss a few but big picture it's there).
    It is good to have the front one step to the right or two from the rear: you want the best grip in the front, always. But going into minion or heavier tires will always kill playfulness.
    Similarly for Specialized, Fast Track < Ground Control < purgatory < eliminator < butcher.

    Nice video. I have a Salsa Rangefinder Deore 10, and I think I might want to change the fork as well as the tires. Any Suggestions?

    Great video and agree with your Tyre setup. As a HCHT (Similar geo to your Roscoe) and FS (Norco Sight) rider, both are configured similarly. My Hardtail has a Dissector up front (due to be replaced with the DHR or Assegi), and the Pirelli Scorpion Trail R Hardwall casing at the rear. VERY fast rolling and a tough tyre too - but don't expect good braking grip though. I'm no lightweight and a few cased
    immed events and its unmoved. Those trails looks fantastic and I'd argue going slacker is overkill IMHO.

      I was wondering why you went from the dissector to the DHF? I heard the dissector was a little faster rolling. Im curious because after WAY TOO MUCH OVERTHINKING, I was planning on trying a dissector

    • @RotormanMTB
      @RotormanMTB ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericpeysar2593 not replaced yet. Purely on grip is my reasoning. Dissector at the rear of my FS and Assegai up front. It was after riding the FS did I realise the grip I was missing out on so that's the plan when the Dissector finally gives out - which isn't too long away I think. I have 2700km on the HT and the Dissector was factory and remains to this day.
