  • Hey! I'm amelylina and after several requests from my followers I've finally made my meshing process video. The programmes I used are:
    - Marvelous Designer - for base mesh
    - Zbrush - for details, UV unwrap, low & high poly meshes creation
    - Blender 2.79 - adjusting the mesh for the game properties
    - Blender 2.70 - importing weights & vertex painting (because I don't really like doing these in newer versions)
    - Substance Painter- for textures
    - Photoshop 2018 - for texture adjusting
    - S4Studio- for combining everything and optimizing for The Sims 4

    OMG YOU ARE SO DAMN SMART!!!!!!!! yessss. baking the 2:1 texture in blender, cropping the image to a square, then using that image in blender, resizing the uv to fit that 2:1 cropped image and using that uv placement in substance painter. the rest is photoshop history. WOOOOOOOWWW OMG. PROBLEM SOLVING AT ITS PEAK. I HAVE TO STAN

      you mean in zbrush? you need to divide your mesh to have more polys so you can draw easily on it. As you see her mesh at that stage was at 5M + polys. After dividing, if you struggle to follow a straight path try using the lazy mouse and also turning on poly lines so you can use them as guidelines. Also make sure your intensity and brush size are set just right so no flattening or weird shapes

      @@noname12234 amazing answer, the only thing i can add to this is turning "lazy mouse" function on can really help!!

    Hi Amelylina, very good tutorial. You r very good doing this. I have a question plz can you tell me in MD how u export the Zipper OBJ for Zbrush?? Is the min 6:19 of the video.

    • @amelylina
      @amelylina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, in export settings you can see you can export clothing parts, avatars and then additional stuff, if you click on it there will be a list (buttons, buttonholes, zippers etc.). I will mark it as important in my next tutorial :)

    I don't know if someone is willing to help, but whenever I extract textures from substance painter the edges are always a bit off and seem clear in-game, I've been testing a few things out but nothing seems to work.

    • @noname12234
      @noname12234 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if you figured it out yet but in case anyone else is also interested in the solution, two things to check while in substance. 1. When baking your mesh in the Baking pop up window make sure to lower the dilation width to something like 3 before baking and when you are ready to export your project from substance make sure the Padding (last field in the main window is set to Dilation + transparent and the dilation size is set to a small number like 3 (you can type it in. Default is 16 I believe). Hope this helps

    16:00 I don't understand what you are doing here T.T you are doing a new UV map, realigning the UV and then cropping it. I thought it's bad to crop it. Or is it because you are only exporting the top and not with the alpha body? O.o

    • @sherryyrs8660
      @sherryyrs8660 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they're realigning the UV map to fit the map in substance painter because when you have the UV map set to 1024 x 1024 it looks squished, but I'm not 100% sure.

    • @noname12234
      @noname12234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sherryyrs8660 yea she is. But you don't need to. Substance Painter accepts 1024x2048 / 2048x4096 no need to use squares (at least newer versions of substance. I use SP v6.2)
