It's possible that the two of them could be working together so the mystery would be to what end? It makes the most sense for this Shanks to either be a sibling, clone, or Shank himself. I do hope it isn’t any of these for the sake of creativity. Or at least I hope Oda is a bit more creative with it. I have a theory that Stussy and Shanks are clones of Adam and Eve from pre-void century, but it’s only a theory because I think it would be cooler than just having a random Shanks clone or Sibling. I hope it’s a reveal that ties into the mythology of the series so we can move the story forward. I hope the Shanks reveal is also a reveal about the history of this world.
If oda wanted to prove to us it is shanks he wouldnt have hidden the scar both times. I agree that the "we should see it from this angle" is a bad point, at least with the first example (in 1134 we can see his left eyelashes so we should see the scar if its consistent with the other panels, but again 'if its consistent'). But oda didnt show it, he hid it both times, if he actually wanted to prove to us he is shanks he would have shown the scar but he didn't. Additionally we see in 1121 a panel of a silhouetted character who has a gryphon-like sword being held in their left hand. It cant be shanks cause shanks already had his panel on that page.
Also if you look at that panel the person is holding the sword with his left hand, we know that Shanks lost his left hand in chapter 1 and before he lost it he was left handed, in real life, twins are more likely to be left handed than single birthed children 👀
@@lilrock447 there is no panel anywhere in the latest chapter that shows the character using left or right hand bruh lmao but what it does show is the sword being near his right hand which is what Shanks...
He could definitely be a clone, especially in a chapter in which Vegapunk is revealed to still be alive? Both things wouldn’t be in the same chapter for nothing. 9:55 I’m glad you brought this up.
The guy is obviously shanks' brother. It's the only thing that fits with the themes of One Piece. Two brothers raised with different ideologies or "wills." Shanks' brother is the new leader of the holy knights, the son of Figarland Garling. He's probably the one who killed Loki's dad.
I was hoping to hear your thoughts on Loki's conversation over a cold model den-den mushi and Oda-sensai's comment in a recent SBS about the Straw Hats being in a 'cold world'.
The most interesting theory is of course that there is only one Shanks and he lives a double life as both the 'strongest pirate' and a top agent of the WG and possibly leader of the God Knights
I think the clone theory makes more sense because twins generally dont have the same hairstyle or beard. They are two similar to just be twins. It's weird.
When it comes to the clone theory, the possibility of a clone entered my mind as a different take of the Sabo situation, when he was replaced. Just in this situation the replacment child/clone was ignorant to the fact and will suffer some existential issues due to it. Was just my intial thoughts.
There is something in Shanks' nature that makes him want to distance himself from nobility. Buggy was disappointed in Shanks for lacking the ambition to be King of the Pirates. There is an unknown source of shame that will be explored.
So if the Gorousei speaks to the hooded Shanks with respect, but they do not do so with Garling, doesn't this open up a posibility that this Shanks could be a very old person like let's say Imu? We're so focused on clones and twins that maybe he could just be one of Shanks ancestors and that's why he's given that respect?
Its not a different Shanks. Shanks is Joyboy or to be more accurate his reincarnation. Joyboy wore a Straw Hat, and Joyboy's stored Haki in Emerith is the only other character we have seen with Shanks level Conquerors Haki. That is why Shanks had the Nika fruit at the start, he was fated to get hold of his own Devil Fruit again. But Luffys reckless behavior altered the course of fate and now Joyboy (Shanks) is without his power, and he has had to alter his plan.
I think it isn’t shanks, just because It would make sense that the figarland family would want to have an heir, and also it would be weird for shanks to suddenly abandon his crew
I was an avid hater of this idea. However, you have laid out many unique and interesting points that have changed my opinion. I never liked it when it was framed as “evil” Shanks. This can still be interesting and narratively satisfying if Shanks has ulterior motives, but still independent of being a tool of the World Government, which is what Ive always hated about the idea of Shanks being secretly evil. Thank you very much for this video, it has given me a lot to think about.
Curiously, in the same chapter, Luffy surprised everyone by changing the way he speaks, and the possibility of cloning a human being was mentioned. Furthermore, there's something that went a bit unnoticed in the previous chapter. The giants believe that Luffy defeated Big Mom. Who told them this version of events?
I've thought for sometime that that one of the gods knights who happened to be female would be based of the Amazonian empress Penthesilea who was one of the female 9 worthies characters who embody knightly aspects such as chivalry and that Penthesilea is known to carry a giant silver axe and judging from the bandaged woman's fringe I believe she could be the dead empress Tritoma brought back from the dead via black magic or an empress of Amazon Lily from further back in history. Or that the Gods Knight is a resurrected Silver Axe or that the bandaged gods knight was bequeathed the Rocks Pirates as axe as a weapon from the plundering of the Rocks Pirates crew.
If they were to give credits to that character to anyone but Shanks it would have been a massive spoiler so I don’t think it’s weird it says Shanks. I think it’s possible there is only one Shanks and too many people acting the twin theory is confirmed. Shanks playing all sides would be very interesting if that’s the way it goes.
I’ve noticed the auto generated English subtitles are very rough. If you would like someone to listen to your videos and provide English subtitles in a better way, please reach out.
I mean they cloned Kaido, they tried to clone with Big Mom, why wouldn’t they clone Shanks too along with the Warlords? If they cloned Mihawk you KNOW they cloned Shanks. But this Shanks probably is more dangerous because he’d have all of Shanks’s original memories of Luffy plus all of the information of Luffy’s battles up to right now
I'm confused. Shanks should speak formally to the gorosei because jupiter was giving him respect. But then you also say that Sengoku also gave respect to Shanks?
1135 proves its not shanks as the two are looking for LOKI. If it was shanks he would have no need to ask the guards where he is because Shanks is well aware of the location of Loki.
You mean it's not possible that Shanks could have defeated Loki, and had the Giants to be the ones to lock him? Shanks woud STILL know Loki is in Elbaf but not know where exactly Loki is being locked up like not knowing where certain prisoners are locked up in Impel Down.
I think it's Shanks. It makes sense his tone changed when speaking to them. I was in Japan recently, and found myself using 俺 for the most part, but for example when I went to the book store used 僕 and when having to speak to some police officers using 私 and speaking in full ます form. On top of that, I think it being Shanks is way more interesting than some guy who looks just like Shanks for no reason. Shanks is clearly a very special character to Oda so I can't see him making a Shanks clone/twin/brother/whatever just for a cheap shock
It is already confirmed that he isn’t shank in the current manga spoiler. Since shanks knows where Loki’s location is , but this two new character that invades elbaf ( shanks twin or clone ) does not even know where loki is.
You people gotta stop saying this nonsense. Absolutely nothing has been confirmed about Shanks knowing Lokis location, its such a fooIish assumption to make.
@ well shanks visited loki in underworld, it confirms when one of loki’s subordinate said that they’d knocked out by shanks ( probably shanks conqueror’s haki ) and the fact that this two character teleported in the castle they maybe assumed that Loki were there( As a king of elbaf)
@Ambander-p3xits also confirmed because in the panel of leading figures for the one piece race the sword the person has is different from shanks griffhorn. Its basically confirmed its not shanks
My Theory: Luffy IS Joyboy. After finding the One Piece on Laughtale - Luffy is confronted by Imu. They fight. Imu is defeated - but Luffy is sent back in time 1000 years. This causes him to BECOME Joyboy. He won't just STOP being a Pirate. The reason Roger called it "Laughtale" is because Luffy explains in the Poneglyph that he became a pirate BECAUSE of Gol D. Roger, how he got sent back in time, and how he started Piracy... all because of Gol D. Roger. As for Shanks. Shanks is discovered by Luffy as a baby. When he's given an opportunity to return to his timeline - he choses to send Shanks - who ends up in the chest on God Valley. Shanks isn't the Twin or Clone or Sibling - he is one of their distant ancestors from the past. That's my theory. Probably wrong, but that's what I think is going to happen.
My theory is that Shanks is Joyboy. He has a similar build to Joyboy we see in Egghead flashback. Both wore a Straw Hat. Both have the strongest Conquerors Haki ever seen in One Piece. I think Shanks is his reincarnation, or maybe the very same Joyboy but the previous user of Bonney's power had Awakened the power and permanently de-aged him back to a baby, as he was too powerful for Imu to defeat in combat. Then sent into the future by Toki, who lived in the Blank Century, and saved weakened baby Joyboy by sending him into the future. Then she started leaping forward in time to look for him, this is why we see her say in Oden flashback that she has been constantly jumping forward in time in search of something. His Devil Fruit, being a Zoan fruit, has a will of its own and found its way back into his hands. But Luffy ate it, altering the course of fate, and now Shanks has had to adjust his plans, but he is willing to do anything to defeat Imu and restore his ancient kingdom. Even sacrifice Luffy. That, would be far, far better for story than some lame evil twin nonsense, a cliche which has been overplayed in stories about a million times now.
Thank you for clarifying that there's nothing strange about Shanks speaking differently depending on who he talks to. This is just how Japanese works.

Subbed love the content
Thank you for posting! I enjoyed this one too
If oda wanted to prove to us it is shanks he wouldnt have hidden the scar both times.
@@thegreatimuin the panel of the final race the silhouette figures had also this pannel that came out we see both hands.
He could definitely be a clone, especially in a chapter in which Vegapunk is revealed to still be alive? Both things wouldn’t be in the same chapter for nothing. 9:55 I’m glad you brought this up.
Question though then why did garling in one of the God valley flashback chapters refer to children if they weren’t twins?
Bro I've been awaiting your video for days now😭
In the clone theory, they could also be clones of Garlin himself. At the same age they look really similar!
I think the clone theory makes more sense because twins generally dont have the same hairstyle or beard. They are two similar to just be twins. It's weird.
I think shanks may be a clone of figarland garling and the "twin" is the real son of figarland garling.
I will still believe that the person is shanks until the other half of the face is shown.
When it comes to the clone theory, the possibility of a clone entered my mind as a different take of the Sabo situation, when he was replaced. Just in this situation the replacment child/clone was ignorant to the fact and will suffer some existential issues due to it. Was just my intial thoughts.
Love you videos!!! Keep it up!!!❤️👑👑👑
I still want to think it's the shanks lookalike
Maybe because Garling and the gorosei butted heads many times in the past but Shanks twin is more respectful
Imagine if it's Mr 2.
Wow Great theory. Many people speculate that the woman next to “Shanks” could be Kuina👀 can you make a theory about Kuina and if she might be alive?
Wow you have a second channel, now I get double the content 😂
the bandage woman is a reference to the slit-mouthed woman I bet
In the last chapter the clone of Vegapunk is anounced, so I think the person at then end of the chapter 8:23 is the clone of Shanks
it's not shanks, they are looking for LOKI, or we know that Shanks met LOKI a day ago (in ONE PIECE timeline)
Now it's confirmed that these guys can teleport via the star thing. So yes it's totally posible that he es Shanks
Garling is science gorosei because he is replacing Saturn who was science gorosei
I’ve noticed the auto generated English subtitles are very rough. If you would like someone to listen to your videos and provide English subtitles in a better way, please reach out.
garling clone replacement son
I mean they cloned Kaido, they tried to clone with Big Mom, why wouldn’t they clone Shanks too along with the Warlords?
If they cloned Mihawk you KNOW they cloned Shanks. But this Shanks probably is more dangerous because he’d have all of Shanks’s original memories of Luffy plus all of the information of Luffy’s battles up to right now
Snitch snitch no mi Model: Rat
I honestly don't like neither the rat shanks theory and twin shanks theory. Morally ambiguous complex characters are so much better.
I'm confused. Shanks should speak formally to the gorosei because jupiter was giving him respect. But then you also say that Sengoku also gave respect to Shanks?
Interesting!
"Red Hair"ing is too obvious to ignore. I think its not shanks but a twin or clone
maybe ODA adapted this so called "Multiverse" maybe that shank is the Evil one from a different universe. haha
@ it’s not shanks. Even the sword hilt in the leak is inconsistent with shanks’
@@gitgud8131 it's the same as chapter 838 cover you dork lol
OR, bon clay died and his fruit was taken by someone else who is betraying shanks
Prove it... Danks 💨 Shanks...Shiv,Stabs LoL 💥™️🏴☠️👑☯️⏰🧩♾️🔥💨
You have a secret channel!!!!????
You could start a whole channel about teaching English speakers Japanese through manga. I'd subscribe.
the bandaged woman could be Katakuri's paternal sister with Lilin marrying a god knight to achieve her dream of racial unity
@@mathieuleader8601 you do realize that katakuri oven and daifuku are twins?
@@hauuah3000 yes I do I'm saying that the sister came after Katakuri and they share the dad but not mother.
Love your videos, I agree that Shanks having a twin is a bit cheesy and lame, I hope that is not the case, but it probably is
The spoilers already prove that he is not Shanks.
You mean it's not possible that Shanks could have defeated Loki, and had the Giants to be the ones to lock him?
el hermano is real
Spoilers are out that guy isn't Shanks and the spoilers prove it.
prove that Shanks was the one who locked up Loki?
I think it's Shanks. It makes sense his tone changed when speaking to them. I was in Japan recently, and found myself using 俺 for the most part, but for example when I went to the book store used 僕 and when having to speak to some police officers using 私 and speaking in full ます form. On top of that, I think it being Shanks is way more interesting than some guy who looks just like Shanks for no reason. Shanks is clearly a very special character to Oda so I can't see him making a Shanks clone/twin/brother/whatever just for a cheap shock
Shanks Twin Brother is just bad writing at this point. I hope its not a twin!
The twin Shanks theory has always been as ridiculous as Blackbeard having a cerberus DF or triplets lol
Could u meow in the next video please? 🐱
And we all know that shanks observation haki is stronger than Luffy. It is impossible that he did’nt sense Loki’s aura like luffy and zorro did.
@Ambander-p3xits also confirmed because in the panel of leading figures for the one piece race the sword the person has is different from shanks griffhorn. Its basically confirmed its not shanks

My Theory:
Luffy IS Joyboy.
@Ambander-p3x I agree wholeheartedly that either of our theories would be superior to the evil twin theory.
