I love it when Jen gets watered first thing in the morning.
I couldn't not have a walk along the Ex!
Just so long as the water is below, not coming down from above!
Totally agree 😊
The Riviera Line always scenic, looking forward to the rest of the videos
The car park near Starcross station has a lovely coffee hut. Great coffee and cakes.
Cornwall does have such amazing railway lines and incredible scenery. Very nice as always Jen.
Always good to see old relics on the railway (I don't mean you Jen 😂). Atmospheric rail must have looked good on paper, but would have been an expensive failure for Brunel.
Let's be honest, I am an old relic though 😂
@@JenOnTheMove 😮🤣
Jen on the water
Lovely. Thank you Jen. 😊
Exeter Red Cow crossing, tied for biggest level crossing at 6 tracks with two crossings on the East Coast Main Line north of Peterborough. And as you probably saw, it's unique in that the crossing attendant can let people through based on what codes they see on the board in the middle of the crossing. Love the squeaky toy sound of Oystercatchers at a station
Mount pleasant crossing in Southampton always seems very big and very busy. It must come close?
Great stuff, Jen. The level crossing at Exeter St David’s is called “red Cow level crossing” after the now long gone Red Cow pub!
I suppose you could say that the Manchester ship canal was named after the one in Exeter as the Exeter canal was built in the 1560s! Just a bit further down the canal is a wonderful pub called “the Double locks” - well worth a visit :)
I remember the first time I went to St Thomas, I was on a pacer!
Wow, retro!
Really got to love that line over the past 15 years or so!
Looking forward to you getting to the seawall!
I've cycled and walked along the overflow canal before, its quite nice!
Exeter St Thomas is a really neglected station imo, really needs some kind of wind walls or shelter for passengers on BOTH platforms, as it is not fun in rainy weather.
So happy to see Marsh Barton having success!!
5:46 is the correct response to voyagers
Excellent video Jen. I love watching you do things you love doing ❤
Thankyou 🙂
The Riviera Line is quite a unique branch line in Devon. Looks like it had rained quite a bit.
You always have me engaged, with a lot of lovely scenery
Atmospheric Rail; the first time I have ever heard of the concept. Understandable how it never really took off. I do love, however, that the building still stands.
All this technical information, verging on a RF video 😉. I'm absolutely here for Jen does engineering speak
I'm getting factual!
Brilliant. loved part one. Lookign forward to the rest. I'm guessing the bridge at Marsh Barton at 07:29 is either a swing or lifting one.
im loving Starcross & the sea views accross frpm the station & looks like a brill station to get shots of trains by the sea & again i wouldnt mind spending an hour or 2 just doing that & the river EX looks amazing in Exeter brilliant vlog & im looking forward to the rest of the line
I think we often don't slow down enough to enjoy our surroundings, which is exactly what I'm aiming to do with these videos!
I had to laugh, "not the failed social media network" 🤣
Brilliant video Jen, the riviera line is a scenic one. I agree with you, when you build a new station, people definitely will come. :)
Thankyou 🙂
"I love everything about it." You need to bring someone else along who feels the way you do, so that you can be a pair of Starcross lovers!
A very Atmospheric wail way :) looks good gen.
Great and entertaining video as always Jen!
A lot of 150ies. But a lot more water! Lucky us….
8:14 lmaooo the failed social media network
The WTYP podcast has an excellent episode about the atmospheric railway that I highly recommend if anyone wants to learn more about it.
Isn't that the podcast with a police officer as a host?
@@caramelldansen2204 Nope, the 3 hosts are an engineer, and two full time podcasters
Trains Station 🚉
lovely video ☺. Surprised you managed to brave the Exe Bridges to get to St Thomas, it's not very nice. Also is the next video on the Torbay section per chance, 'as bad as I remember' stuck out haha
It wasn't pleasant! My rant about it didn't make the final cut though!
Great video as usual Jen! Does it still pong at 'Barsh Marton'?
Little bit!
I use this line every day!!
So jealous!
Starcross station was so picturesque overlooking the beach. Shame about Exeter St Thomas though, this kind of thing can happen when stations are neglected and unloved. Lovely video Jen, apart from the 150 slander xP
@@JenOnTheMove admittedly the Teignmouth area of the line, but still every day
Are you a character from Romeo and Juliet? After all, you've just admitted to being a Starcross lover.
1:20 Was that a Cilla Black reference?
Beautiful scenery on this line, although I guess that Exeter St. Thomas won't be winning any Cheshire's Best Kept Station awards (correction, Devon's Best Kept Station award) any time soon 😅
I think I need to start my own awards!
2:37 Are Harrington humps usually that long?
Not usually
Could you please do Visting every station on scotrail express line Edinburgh to Glasgow queen street
I'll get there eventually!
Does this mean you're a Starcross(ed) lover? 🤪
Why don't you like voyagers?
They're inappropriate for the journeys they make, they smell, and as a result of their operator, usually late!
@@JenOnTheMove fair enough lol
Hi I’m Jenonthemove and I travel with Metrolink
no idea why you're so keen to see your ex..? oh, the river.
haha 🤣 I'm still on good terms with the other ex too!
