I used to live in Grove Park and never knew that the Ringway centre was on that land. Also my condolences for going to Grove Park 😂 Also Chislehurst is a semi posh area
They actually did a survey if we wanted toilets on train before we got those and I wld love to see the outcome. I certainly ticked that I wanted loos. The toilets at the train station are on the other platform and it takes you five minutes to get across. Similar with Hither Green. In London Bridge they are outside the gates. So not having loos on trains is stupid. The City Beam is also less comfortable than the Thameslink trains who have a similar design, but are much better.
Almost wondered where the blue hair had gone but then we are before blue hair jen in the triology! "Jen doesn't run...Jen might have to run" might be quote of the series 😅😅
Those stations in south London are okay-ish for commuters going to and from work, but I doubt any of them are likely to win a Cheshire's best kept station award any time soon 😂
I was taking a trip to our twin town in eastern Poland and Polish railways can be not the most timely. The train to Krakow was two hours late arriving. We had allowed a one hour changeover time in Krakow but fortunately the train we needed was running 70 minutes late so I got myself, our luggage and my disabled partner from one platform to the other and on the train. We sat in the first carriage we found as I couldn't be bothered to find our reserved seats. So a two minute interchange is nothing LOL
Familiar territory to me I used to live at Orpington. Great video, Jen. Btw change at Dunton Green for Chevening Halt Brasted Halt and Westerham. I was a volunteer on that I'll fated scheme, years ago!
These south-eastern line stations are a bit meh aren’t they? (Just you wait to the bus shelters on the tonbridge-Redhill line!!) There are lots of great stations in Surrey and Sussex - you’ll like Guildford to Redhill, the marshlink line and the Arun valley line for a start :)
1:20 Jen (if you feeling 200% nerdy) when you do the Marston Vale Line and while at Beltchley you need to visit Bletchley Park and also the museum of the computer which is next door... or you could leave it until East West Rail (former and upgrade of the Varsity Line) is completed in the 2030s
South Eastern is an area that I've not really travelled, but slightly West of there Southern do a day rover ticket that gets as far East as Ashford and then all the way across to Southampton, so lots of stations to go at. I've used it for those outside zone 6 on the Oyster card and plan to repeat at some point soon to visit more stations as just too many for all one day.
I do like Elmstead Woods with the garden in the middle of the station platform. Plus the last remaining Class 707s (707024 and 707030) will be cascaded to Southeastern at the end of this month.
Brilliant video Jen, it's a good thing the ringways wern't built, I imagine it would look very unatractive. Don't even get me started on vending machines, they don't always work properly lol. Theres deffo stations that need TLC done on them.
If/when you do a series on the Cambrian Line and have some time to spare in Aberystwyth, do check out the public library. Not the National Library up on the hill, the public one down in town. Just up the stairs into the room on the left should be a local/Welsh collection and the very first shelf on the left currently holds a book on how the line used to be all the way up to Pwllheli.
I was born near Tonbridge, at Pembury Hospital. More notable births there include sporting champions Kelly Holmes and Rob Cross plus frontman of The Pogues Shane McGowan
So I'm thinking you made decent use of a 3-day Kent Rover South of Sevenoaks and a capped one-day Oyster fare North of Knockholt - must've lost a fortune on that gap in the middle - no wonder you were denied chocolate, the machine knew you weren't good for the price \m/
Almost all of the station buildings shut after 10, perhaps 11 if you are in a fairly well used station. You are also correct when saying if the stations had a little more TLC, they would look much better. I hope you take a journey on the Medway Valley line at some point, as on the whole the stations ( and especially the scenery) are much more up your street!
Hi Jen, sorry you didn't get a smile at my station, Chelsfield. The evening rush hour fast pattern skips Sevenoaks. The station had a cheap rebuild when the old buildings burned down years ago.
I prefer Northern stations over South Eastern ones too and I live in the south. At least Northern ones tend to preserve the historical features better and I have seen plenty of pretty cool community and heritage stuff all over the Northern network. Even rarely served stations like Chathill were pretty nice. South Eastern are understaffed and a bit unloved in the commuter belt I think, at least it's stations around the Kent coast are pretty nice and looked after.
Southeastern’s metro part of the network in general doesn’t get a lot of love from the people who run it… the nicest things about it are the new(ish) class 707s, and even they’re starting to look a bit shoddy after prolonged heavy commuter use. Also Hither Green is my local, yes it is pretty boring… thank god you weren’t there on a really rainy day, leaky roofs everywhere 😭
Sorry this is out of context but do you know kristy ASMR you made a video with her a year ago 🥺 do you know how she is ? Where is she ? People are worried about her 🥺
We're back to the original Jen timeline, after last weeks jump forward! This was filmed in July
Did you notice the platform gardens at Elmstead Woods that volunteers lovingly maintain.
Great Video Jen, I agree that some Stations do need some TLC.
The stations tend to get better once u get into Sussex
"Ooo chocolate" 😂
What can I say? I'm easily distracted!
But did you get your choccy bar on the 2nd attempt? 🙂
11:36 ooooo
Chocolate 🍫 is great 😸

Hi Jen
As someone with a bladder capacity of an eggcup, I'm totally with you on, we should not be running trains without toilets!

Great video, Jen. G'Day from Australia.

We don’t have Snack bars here in the States. Gonna have to look that one up.

My train operator I grew up on❤
yes the tense music came back! I've missed hearing it 😂

Love the dramatic music :P
It's also an easter egg that there's a type of video that I haven't forgotten about 😉
Yes! Chislehurst is dead posh! Incidentally, Hithergreen has a huge Network Rail Depot there.
I do like Elmstead Woods with the garden in the middle of the station platform. Plus the last remaining Class 707s (707024 and 707030) will be cascaded to Southeastern at the end of this month.

17 minutes in! Im never this early to a Jen video! Keep going Jen, I absolutely love your content!

The last 2 Class 707s “707024” and “707030” are now with Southeastern. Making the total of 30 Class 707 City Beam trains on the Southeastern network.

brilliant vlog
OMG I was just talking about when I met you at Grove Park a while back to my teacher lol.
Good Idea , Coffee. :)
I was one 465919 and 465171 this morning at half 6

A standard single or return allows break of journey, so shouldn't be too bad.
Only one stop on a 707, no time to find out if the seats are any better than those fitted to 700s?

Southeastern is run down, but still has a charm. Im going to miss the 465s, peeling paint, and cracked platforms when its all gone
I was today years old as well
im looking forward jen going to afk
Trains Station 🚉
When are you coming to skegness to have a coffee with us ??
11:53 wait did that vending machine scam you
New trains being built without toilets should be against the law.
Those stations look bog standard commuter stuff.
Hi Jen
Thank you for sharing Jen.
so you paid for a chocolate and got nothing?

Life has just been in the way for the last year or so for her... She is coming back hopefully soon and she has started filming again 🙂
@@JenOnTheMovethank you for letting me know ☺️
Hi Jen it’s Joe from the Blackpool tram extension we was having a chat but if you could pop me a email I have a collab idea for a video
Contactless vending machines never work because their software is garbage and never updated in a timely manner. 😂
