    Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this. Used your suggestions and it made a world of difference on my Facebook photo upload quality. I have always hated how my photos looked on FB. Never looked as good as in the editor, till now.
    Thanks again.

    Thank you!!!! People think I'm crazy (or usually just old) when I tell them the beautiful picture I made needs to be formatted for their platform. The file they want to make a print from won't work. Thanks for explaining the specs. so clearly.
    Question if you have an opinion: How durable do you think the standard of 2048 long-edge will be? Have they held this pretty steady or are there rumbles of change out there? Thanks again for posting so succinctly and on-target about formatting for digital media.

      Facebook has had these image settings for many years now and even though devices can now display images at much higher resolution, they have kept these settings due to the speed that the images can be loaded onto any device.

    What a beautiful channel! I am so glad I stumbled into your channel. No commercial angles, no fluff. Simple genuine photography. Keep it up and stay happy, stay healthy.
    Edit: I was trying to assess if a D5600 will be good enough for occasional bird and 'rural wildlife' photography for a beginner. All photography experts on TH-cam opine that a D7500 is the minimum body one needs for capturing moving subjects. I get it - AF is better, etc. But is D5600 completely unusable for this type of shots? D7500 is twice the cost. For a beginner that's a lot of money. And then I saw what you did with that D90! Now I'm reasonably confident the D5600 will not disappoint me. It may not be the best tool for the job but now I think it's AF may not be so bad either. I'm ready to give it a shot. Thank you for making such informative content! 👌🙂

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are right about the D7500, but if all you can afford is the D5600, then it will allow you to get bird photos. Maybe look for a used D7200

    • @Raj-ym4cu
      @Raj-ym4cu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CharlesNPhotography I'll go for a D7500 itself. Just realized Nikon has scrapped all crop sensor DSLRs except the D7500. Don't want to go for a used body unless the seller is personally known to me. Thanks for the response.

    just found the best tip that i could get from a more mature person compared to younger ones here in youtube.. also found some people from reddit arguing to what should you do to get a crisp image what megapixel does make better photos from 12mp 50mp or 200mp for facebook but still wasn't able solve the issue im having.

    would you do the same if it was for a customer, would you change anything? Even for the Cover photo?

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I wouldn't. Facebook recommends these sizes for optimum quality and display of the images. if the images are smaller or larger than these sizes Facebook resizes them to these sizes.

    Kudos to you and your channel!
    Unfortunately, this is not the case in less developed countries such as the Balkan countries. There is some factor of network specifications. Only exclusive contracts with Internet service providers ensure high-quality file transfers on Facebook.

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm unsure of the Balkan's, but Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam have the same size regulations as countries in the West.

    Hello!
    For the portrait photo still 2048 pixels?
    Are these settings also valid for Instagram?

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      2048 pixels on the longest edge is for any photo uploaded to Facebook, whether it's a photo of a person, nightscape or landscape. I'm unsure about Instagram as I don't use that platform 😉

    I need to know what size to create my jpeg ads. I'm in Photoshop. When I create a new canvas.... What should my LxW be? Everything online says 1080x1080...please advise.

      I haven't made Facebook Ads for quite a while, so maybe do a google search on Facebook ad size. This video is about the size of photos to upload to FAcebook, you could use it has a template and make your images on bigger than 2048 x 2048 at 72dpi
