Henrik, at your current pace, you and Anna will be moving in before you know it. I'm excited for you and admire how hard you and your father work. The mason did a nice job on the door frame, too.
Thank you so much! 😊 There is a precise measurement for stairs to be acceptable to walk in and we have built this to that exact size. My father has been in the industry his whole life, but his company built stairs in steel and not wood which made this build a bit different.
Progress...that's what counts. The mason again rocks...literally! That glass door is gonna be awesome. Stairs are turning out nice. I can see why Anna wants to walk alot...its very stressful. I know you both want to have that building livable and done.
Yes, we have another day or two at the house before it's finished, or maybe 500 more days 😂 Yes, we love them too, they are turning out just the way we hoped.

We call "shoes" joist hangers here in the states. How is it that disco music is so perfect for time lapses? (Of course, I think disco music is perfect for every situation!) Love the stairs! Cheers from North Carolina USA
Haha, yeah gotta love some old 70's disco! Yes, now I know for the next time I need some joist hangers 😂 Thank you for watching and commenting Catherine!
I had to google what rebated stringers is, it looks very complicated and a lot more expensive to find wood of that thickness for it too work. This is a staircase for the stables that is going to get clad in another layer of wood in the future so nothing of what we have done will be visible.
Yes absolutely we will change the slope of ceiling now when the slope of the staircase is different, it needs to match, we both got way to much OCD to leave that alone 😂
Hi John! For now we will use it as storage for all the things we have inside the house so that we can start work in there. Later on we would like to build an apartment up there for guests.
@@VillaAroldi Can't wait to see it finished! I'm really really really passionate about restoration videos and I'm following each one of yours! P.S. I am from the North of Italy as well :D
You call it a mason, we say plasterer or builder in uk, the quality of finish and presumably level and plumb your guy achieves is admirable. In the uk you’d be paying 40 euro an hour for that level of quality. Don’t get me wrong you can pay 20 and get a half decent job too, but your guy looks great
Yes he does plastering as well, but he works with stone and bricks which makes him a stone mason? Yes similar prices to here for the skill level I would say, I rather pay a bit more to get that finish than save some money and not be happy with the result, that's why I haven't even attempted to try it myself. 😂
I know they are a bit short sometimes, it depends on the day, I don't want to make them longer just because of making them longer, I want them to actually include have some sort of content.
Amazing progress today! The stairs look good. The stone mason does a great job. Can't wait til you have doors with locks to secure the building.
Thank you Tura!
Neither can we, hopefully we can lock the place soon!

Thank you so much. pace will slow down soon though.
Yes, he is very skilled!
You and your father make a great team! The stairs are wide and will be easy to climb.
I think so too, we have the space so we might as well.
They are about 3.5 feet wide or so.
@@VillaAroldi It will really help for getting furniture or equipment up there.
@@lindamounts2193 It really will!
Soon we can start emptying the house from all the things.
It's all starting to come together. Lovely.
Thank you Anne!
Good progress! The plasterer you hired does outstanding work.
Thank you!

Stairs look great. Not too steep. You'll appreciate that as you age. Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. 🇺🇸

With the stairs being installed its a lot easier to imagine the space! 🤗

Yes we are slowly getting there, it's strange to say but we cant wait to live in a stable 😂
I love how wide the stairs are, which seem size proportionate for the space.
The steps are about 3.5 feet wide. We hade the space so why not make it comfortable.
Loving these daily vlogs xx
Glad you like them Gill!
The fact that the stairs are in place make it look much more completed 😅 but I’m sure you have loads more to do. Loving those doors

Wow, wow, wow! Fantastic work and progress! Where will you put those beautiful doors Anna finished?
They will go on where we built the brick opening in the stables, one of the previous episodes.

Great to see some real progress, well done to you all. But why didn’t you build the stairs with rebated stringers? Is that the way it’s done in Italy?

They’re called hangers in the US.
Will the bathroom ceiling be changed to match the slope of the stair stringers?
That's the word I'm looking for!

Thank you for watching!
What will you do with the space at the top of the stairs for?
Hi John! For now we will use it as storage for all the things we have inside the house so that we can start work in there. Later on we would like to build an apartment up there for guests.
Is the plan to move into the stables while you renovate the house? I saw the living conditions you have to endure in Milan. Its coming along great!
Yes in an earlier video they said that they wanted to move into the stables as soon as they can.
Yes exactly, we would like to move in as soon as possible as we cant stand staying in the apartment with the renovations there.
Is that going to be a temporary staircase, or will you simply upgrade that once most of the works in the stables are completed?
No it's permanent but we will cover it and make it nicer later when the stable is finished, so it's years away.
