Nice effect! But shields in history were covered in leather or linen or other material and then painted, so they won't have wood texture on the front side ;)
Definitely going to make use of your tip of how it's easiest to paint vertical lines. I've struggled to make scratches to simulate battle damage and that might just make the difference. Thanks!
I used a Windsor and Newton size 3 here, I jump from different brushes here and there not for any particular reason but because I use whatever I grab from the brush box that day.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I thought so but I think it’s more funny because I can’t see reds and greens that well. My wife sees extra colors so she cries (jokingly) whenever she uses a filter that shows her how I see things.

The first video was how I found the channel and it really opened my eyes to what was possible. Always love seeing how well the pieces turn out.
Thanks mate 😘
Absolutely blown away by this. Glad you're back to more regular videos.
Thanks! I'm having a great time
You're a painting hero. Simple yet effective explanations and great result
no, he is a painting God. He passed the hero level WAY before that! ;)
Thanks guys 😘
You made a great video. I definitely will try this. I will also reiterate before you paint the decal varnish it! Beautiful work sir!
Thanks!!

That’s a fantastic technique!
Thanks
Awesome technique
Thanks
TH-cam put this on my auto-play, and this was exactly what I wanted to find! Really makes a huge difference on the models
It's one of my favourite "tricks", gives the minis a lot of depth
Great video, but I am very fond of your earlier videos. They’re not atrocious!!
Thanks mate 😘
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thanks too, for bringing us closer to our paint brushes and further away from blue paint. 🥰
Outstanding stuff. 😊
Thanks

Happy to help!
Ya pensaba que ibas a marcarte el pedazo de freehand jajajaja pero aún con la calca lo has integrado de cojones, gran trabajo sí señor 👏👏👏
Gracias guapo 😗
Brutal, mil gracias. ❤
A ti guapetón
Thanks 😊
Happy to help
Really cool vid. Perfect timing. I want to use this method for my D&D Greyhawk heraldry. 👍
Awesome!!
The patreon tmm video was absolutely stunning to behold. Well worth checking out peeps
Thanks mate 😘
Great technique but this required a level of brush control I will never achieve. Thanks for sharing, it was entertaining.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Very nice! If I may ask, which size of brush were you using?
I can't really remember but probably either a size 3 w&n series 7 or a size 3 Rosemary and Co series 33
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thank you ;)
I would love to see modernized video of how to sculpt long hair :o
Nice idea!
hi juan, what kind of paintbrush have u used ?
I used a Windsor and Newton size 3 here, I jump from different brushes here and there not for any particular reason but because I use whatever I grab from the brush box that day.
Thanks so much
Juan
Your forehead worry line looks like a lightning bolt.
Are you the REAL Harry Potter?
Yes
why did you bent the red lines towards the center of the shield instead of going straight down? was that to simulate wood grains ?
I didn't, all lines are straight, it's an optical illusion
I need some better brushes lol but this will be goal once I get some brettonians
Nice!!
NWW. Non wood wood?
Lol, I LOVE that
qué cabrQUÉ BONITO, JUAN
Gracias guapo 😘
“Blue is the worst colour” makes me so sad since I’m Red/Green deficient so the best colors I see are blues 😢
It's just a running joke, blue is lovely
