In the manga there was no truck crush in the store. She really steals her bike, but I think they didn't put it in the show so no one hates her from her first impression

@@ruanpaiva3554 IMO this fits better because she doesn't seem like the type to just run around without a bike or transportation.
I think in the manga she was nextdoor to the store and later on decided to move on
I feel like it would've still fit the situation if she did steal the bike knowing you know her survival of the fittest mentality in a zombie apocalypse "OH you left your bike undefended? Yoink."
As someone who has never really been very into the zombie apocalypse theme, this shit SLAPS. Not because of the zombies but because how how likable the main character is ❤
Right? Akira is a break in the clouds in a storm that realistically should never go away, he's great
Bro's in a zombie apocalypse but the only nightmare he had was his work life 💀💀💀
One thing I like about these 2 first episodes is that they show 2 archetypes you generally don't want to be. The main character is very enthusiastic and positive, which is extremely vital in an apocalypse, but he has no idea of risk and the danger of his actions, or rather he aren't scared of them, and he doesn't put much thought into anything he does, which can put not just himself but others in massive danger.
On the other hand, the character we have just been introduced to is the exact opposite. She is very calculative, thinks things through and considers the risk, which is another essential quality to survive. On the other hand, she is too serious and doesn't consider enjoyment and mental health at all. A severely understated issue in zombie apocalypses that a lot of people doesn't consider is one's mental health. If you don't keep your spirit high and only focus on survival like her, you will eventually fall into a deep state of depression, which is easily even more dangerous than the zombies. And obviously this applies to real life as well. As much as you wanna focus on your future and dreams, don't forget to slow down and enjoy something now and then
I can't wait to see the whole cast together and how they'll impact each other, and make up for each others flaws
*DISCLAIMER* this is not to shit on the characters, each character is great and very likable, and serves for some great dynamics between each other, as seen in this episode. This is just specifically speaking as a massive fan of zombies and apocalypse scenarios. Also I have not read the manga, I know nothing about what's gonna happen, so there's nothing spoilery here, and likewise please don't spoil *me*
One of the things listed in her ways of avoiding becoming a zombie is to maintain mental stability

Other changes... The motorcycle in a Harley Davidson in the manga.
There is no truck crash in the manga. The zombies break into the store, she shoves some shelves in their way and walks out like a badass as Akira watches behind her.
All in all, everything else is perfect! ^_^

Bug Films really nailed the cinematography and animation of this show.
It's pretty fun to see the contrast between the 2 so far, but notice the word choice in their list - she's looking to survive, whereas he (I'm guessing subconsciously) doesn't expect to.
This episode shows the core difference between Surviving, and Living.
16:09 minor spoiler…They escaped and were influenced by Tendo so they decided to fulfill their dream of traveling the world. Which is possible cuz the husband is a pilot.

As someone who read the manga, I'm so happy you're reacting to this. It ONLY gets better.
So, funny thing about the opening: for the first 3/4ths of the anime, it's kind of an unfinished version. We do get the full version by around Episode 9. I WOULD complain, but A.) The circumstances around the studio were harsh enough alrsady and I really don't want to put more fuel on the fire, and B.) The opening we get by then is super fun. Five words: City wide Zombie flash mob.
Fun Fact, the chorus for the intro for zombies 100 fits very well with the Ald meme nightcore Rockefeller Street dance from vine.
