As far as I’m aware, there isn’t exactly a comic nor a game about it in the making, but there is a proof of concept that’s over 10-years old that you can check out as well as other things that you might like if you enjoy their stuff; happy watching👋😁
The dynamics of the fight scenes is captivating, in that it doesn't rely on generic tropes; this character utilizes the tools around him and doesn't rely solely on his own power. I look forward to seeing how this unfolds.
It's so gratifying to have seen 'Azureus Rising' in my childhood, and today, as an adult, being able to see an animated series again, something I was so excited about so much at the time.

I agree it’s amazing to finally see this animation get off the ground after so long! But Ruin probably it’s never going to continue considering Wes Ball went on to direct the Maze Runner movies.
Randomly stumbled upon this, and goddamn. The animation looks straight out of a video game.
Some of the best ive seen! From the camera movement, use of slow motion, the glow effects and the weight of impact.. all eye candy for me as an aspiring animator.

The physics are just so impressive. Things have weight and momentum and the hyper realism of the animation is breathtaking. This is the finest animation work of its kind that I've ever seen.

The animation is absolutely beautiful, especially how fluid the motion is. I'm not usually a fan of ridiculous camera angles but since there is a cartoonish or let's call it a stylized look and feel, it totally works.
This has been so long in the making and I’m hella proud of y’all for sticking with it. I am PSYCHED to see the finished product, and inspired to keep working on my own worlds.
Here’s what we know:

Some sort of electrical abilities
Morals are questionable
Has a past with the other guy
Extensive criminal record
HYPER LETHAL
Has a motive for revenge
Exists in a universe with incredibly advanced technology
Moderate possibility that there are others like him or at least equal to his power
Possible telepathy (Maybe just used on him) or simply a dream sequence, since that's what woke him up.
Also, don't forget his armor, it has a map which probably wasn't built in and is quite durable to brush off shots from a gun that tore thru their own armor when used against them.
Probably some durability enhancement too since he didn't flinch from the shots themselves.
He let the last guy live, either because he didn't want to or didn't care to kill someone who stopped being an active threat.
What gave it away that he's in a universe with advance technology

My guess would be either some form of electrolysis or control over magnetism, similar to magneto.

I remember seeing the proof of concept back in highschool and wishing that it was something more. It straight up *changed* my entire taste in media and aesthetics. The fact that it's fully realized all these years later, and it perfectly encapsulates everything I fuckin' love is almost unreal.

Okay, that little flinch by one of the footsoldiers when the door opened sold me. The beatdown afterwards was just extra. XD
that was insane. the detail of the bubbles on the mask, the destruction of the facility, and the physics of the bodies flying. the production quality is incredible. this is the most polished "small studio" animation ive seen since ASTARTES. Also, I thought the guards were still robots like on AZUREUS rising until i saw the guard shaking and the leg bleeding lol.

Been waiting over a decade for this one. Words can hardly express how hyped I am to finally see this series continued.
Absolutely in love with the animation and sound design. Obviously, the combat is phenomenal, the weight in particular being beautifully done, but I'd like to draw attention to smaller aspects, like the detail and sound of that single shot of a tightening trigger fingers, the hesitation as the door opens, just perfect, and the kind of thing I only expect from movies and big-budget game cutscenes. I especially love the work for all the artificial aspects-the crunch of the door locks, and the weight behind that gun being set up? Just *chief's kiss.*
I couldn't pick out a single flaw, save for the corpses being a bit ragdoll-y, or if you really wanted to be pedantic-his ears stick out having less detail than everything else. Absolutely gorgeous job you've all done.

Amazing work! Hadn't seen anything leading up to this. Lots of great inspirations found in here: Star Wars, Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Haze, Dragonball series, Nausicaä - not a dig at all, these are all things worth being inspired of. Love to see it come together in a unique, cool way. Great slow-mo action and sound design.

What an incredible Christmas gift. I was on the toilet when I saw the words "THE ANIMATED SERIES". it was the quickest shit of my life, to drag myself onto the couch and watch the new video on television rather than on the phone. and it was worth it, Azureus kicks ass!

HOLLY COW talk about a CHRISTMAS GIFT, I remember seen the short Azureus Rising like. damn 10 or 12 years ago (man T.T now I feel old), so happy to see finally something new, this looks as epic if not more so than the short, can't wait for episode 2.

This is how you do action scenes with super powered characters! No shaky cam nonsense, no jump edit garbage. The beauty and the terror of the scene playing out like a well choreographed dance of destruction. Well done!
Well, those things happen because of actually filming real actors using stunt doubles. This is animated and doesn't have the same limitations, which you'll find is common in animation in general.
@@muntu1221 Almost like animation is just a better medium for doing things like superheroes. Perhaps. Just perhaps, they should put more money into producing top class animation and leave off the live action drek that's been getting shoved out these last few years.
@grimdolo918 I'm never going to be of the opinion that one medium should just not exist or can't function for a certain genre. That's elitist and not conducive to producing better art. And this is coming from someone who advocates for expanding the animation industry. But live action movies still serve a purpose.

Hats off to the director - Weinstein. Excellent blend of stop-action, slow motion and 'normal' movement. Drama in motion without being over-dramatic.
Hats off to the animators: You're able to illustrate the difference between being fast (and she is) and being QUICK. Athletes can tell who is fast, but they appreciate and are impressed by those who are 'quick'. Quick is immediate motion in relationship to thought. Fast is coordinated muscle movement. Azureus is quick, and you show it without gimmickry. You see and feel that her quickness is real... and, there is nothing better that can be said about animation: it 'feels real'.

Love the animation, the movement, character, everything…I also loved how the blue haired guy literally run head first with no fucks given of the fact that the soldiers were firing at him..my most favorite of this animation is how skilled and strong he is…he has to be the most badass character for how he single-handedly took on a whole group by himself..I hope we get to see more of him..keep it up!🎉
