Your home is so beautiful Josie and Charlie. As an interior designer, I would suggest 3 big prints above your sofa. Much bigger than the ones you bought. Don't worry about covering up the wood pieces as you have so much beautiful wood on show everywhere in your house and you don't need to highlight those pieces. It will help hold the wall if you have three pieces centred over the sofa rather than off to one side. Hang those smaller botanicals together one on top of the other leaving only a 2 - 4" gap between the two. Alternatively, you could do a beautiful gallery wall above the sofa and still cover the wood bits with a number of pieces grouped together, mix your frames and subject matter.
The house is becoming more and more magical. The view in the drawing room, when you showed the sofa with the bookcase in the background and the light reflecting was just woow- so inviting and just spectacular. You reached the stage where it is all about the details and I can't wait to see all the artwork and additions you are about to choose in years to come. I think it would compliment your house so nicely- some beautiful country side landscapes and traditional artwork in bold frames. I feel the frames are too small for over the sofa. Why not a larger oil, or watercolour that covers the wood bits? Challenge gone. I’m sure you will choose the right piece or pieces, you both have excellent taste. I’ve always heard the piece over your sofa should be 2/3 rd long, the length of the sofa .Good luck making your decision! I must say I Am very excited to see art going up.

Stack the botanicals vertically to the right of the window. This will symmetrically balance out your big TV. I'm sure you will find other art for the sofa and doorway. I would also put some antiquing wax over the bright gold of the frames to tone them down.
I was going to make the same suggestion for stacking in that corner and possibly next to the China cab built in. Directly behind the couch needs a larger scale. The sconce wall I would make gallery style with smaller pieces. It will come together in time.

I like option one for the art. For the wall with the wood, I would suggest different sizes - vertical and horizontal - and never hang art too high. xx
Those pictures would look attractive and balanced side by side on either side of the lamp on the wall. The lamp would be in the middle and the frame top 1/4 up alongside the lamp bottom. Oh its so frustrating to explain but in my minds eye ,I can see it.😫

I have always wished that you would put some prints above the sofa where the 2 pieces of wood are located. They look strange there by themselves. I think the prints would balance/detract from them.

One trick I use to make smaller black and white prints more substantial, is to place them in a large frame and float them on a black or charcoal field

Great job videotaping the shops, restaurants, and countryside around the Cotswolds.
Also keep in mind for art, that art should be hung at gallery height. You should not have to look up to admire your art.
