Brilliant video Zac, awesome that we could be involved with you making the swap to 3 pedals....Yahoo. Inspirational, to see you learning as you build your ultimate Skyline! Shifting looks awesome now. When you get to installing the shifter centering springs the shift gate will become super defined and probably even easier for someone who hast driven manual a lot to feel the "H pattern" of the shift gate.If anyone has any questions, please get in touch with us at CUBE Speed
hey mate, anyone who’s learned to drive a manual has to go through this, the hardest part is hill starts but just hold the handbrake up with your thumb on the button & bring the revs up a little while slowly letting the clutch out until you feel it start to engaged then slowly put the handbrake down & take off
WICK’S GARAGE thanks man! Yeah I’m getting through it slowly but surely😁 max has been taking me out for a few lessons and safe to say I’m getting it! There’s a video in 2 days of me driving manual
I believe you might have an na gearbox in your car, from experience in messing around with rbs for years turbo boxes don’t have the notchy stock shifting like that but the na boxes do, the na boxes are much weaker than the turbo boxes so if it is an na box consider an upgrade 👍🏼
Rhys Wilson oh really! Thankyou so much man, makes me a little concerned now, we will see how it goes when I absolutely send it on track and if it breaks 😂
You’ll be able to tell from under the car, turbo box is fat na box narrows down a lot after the bell housing, it’s not too bad, on stock boost it should hold up fine, I have a turbo rb30 and have only blown two of them up in a year
@@ZacBaldy Why not? 🤷 Get some chicken, put some herbs and lemon pepper in some foil, stick it on the exhaust manifold of the R33, send it around the track and eat your freshly cooked lunch when you're done drifting. 😎👍🍴 Zac's kitchen, open at wide open throttle. 😝
Leave the length at a decent height man, the shorter you make it the more effort it takes to shift, the pivot point has already been raised so the throw is reduced anyway, so leave it with some leverage or you'll start missing gears in the heat of moment when doing your mad drift chases
@@ZacBaldy it's not the same throw though, the length doesn't not change that, it is definitely shorter in its shift compared to stock because the pivot point has been raised with that CUBE kit
Thread sealant and loctite are definitely not the same homie , sealant will not work in the way of keeping bolts in place as loctite would , would just get some loctite and swap it over down the track but
Tre Mckenzie the stuff I used was a permatex high heat thread seal and medium strength Locktite 😁 just said it wrong in the video. I do plan on switching over to locktite eventually though

Since the locking plate is clamping with the banana clips. You should have tighten them in a Criss cross pattern like lug nuts
Ive got a Cube shifter in my Bf ute. Best mod ive done, makes shifting so snappy and direct especially with the heavy centering springs.
Bigg Bhudda bloody nice man! I could imagine it would tighten it up like crazy!
3:58 which sized bushing goes on the end of your shaft. lol im dying😂🤣
Nuwan Konara so many bad Innuendos😂😂
Love your work Zac! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the modifications! Keep it up G 😎
Ndafoka Evans thank you so much✌️ really appreciate the support
The best R33 short shifter ever available was the C's Original, not sure if they're sold these days.

IMO nothing beats the Nismo Smooth Shifter.
when you come for a flour sifting video
I know, the disappointment is real...
😉
Sorry to Disappoint :'(
@@ZacBaldy Make up for it next video? 🤔
Zac's cooking class! Lesson 1: Sifting. 😝
MafiaboysWorld should I actually do a cooking video 😂

Gene Rhodes hahaha that was the plan, 😜 I have it set as high as possible at the moment so it just has the same throw but a lot more direct.

When your that early there’s 13 likes and 2 views 😁😁
1 year today since this video was released.
The misses is always right zacky she roasted you good 😂😂👍
Love the vids recently
Fextro Thankyou so much 😁😁
ZacBaldy yourwelcome mate 😊
Thread sealant isn’t the same as loctite. Tread sealant is to help oils or what not to leak out not hold a bolt tight
Adam Graham this stuff I used was a thread seal, medium strength high heat locktite👍
Do you know you need a mod plate for the short shifter. And a mod plate for the racing steering wheel.
Only if he's going to road register it. BTW, needs a shift pattern sticker attached near the shifter too as the knob doesn't have it on it.
got a cube shifter for my Miata awesome brand
amazing shifting man

Then when you take the box and motor out you have to take the shifter off again lol
Nice mod. Looks sick Zac.
Should put a type of anti-lag in it
Good video mate :)
Hey bro you probably won't read this but you should invest in some head strap for your go pro so you can use both of your hands lol
I came for a short sifting video. I've been clickbaited.
MafiaboysWorld 😂😂😂
Wow nice Handbrake at 7:12
Good job 9\10
What's the part # for the short throw shifter?
Did you watch sammits vlog on this for hints on how to do this haha. Pretty sure he got given the same kit
Josh Keen yeah dude sure did 😉😂

First like. I’m in Brisbane.

Every time he shifted I died
Why
Do they sell short shifters for the automatic version of the r33
Astle Truscott why would you put a short shifter in a auto??
*sniff*
Astle Truscott 😂😂😂🤦🏼♀️
Ummm what do you need a short shifter for? All you do is put the car into drive and be bored
shift it zac
Won’t you get a defect for no numbers being displayed on the shifter knob??
Nice
