How can you not like this astonishing performance of Maurice,it's love from the beginning until the end for the recorder and the music. I always played brass-instruments until now but he inspired me to play the recorder from now on. These days I play in a recorder-group with 7 musicians together and I love it very much. Bravo Maurice!
What a sweet piece, most soprano recorder stuff goes high but vivaldi always does the deed. Love the way the player moves, setting time and pulling that sound in and out of the mic. Top scratch and well supported. Damn me that is definitely worth opening another beer for. Those flats and sharp notes and the non diatonic are a real finger exercise especially on that puppy.
Outstanding performance the Largo was so beautifully played that iT should stand as the one of the masterpieces greatest performance. ¡Bravo to all! I like the overall tempo of the concerto.
For an instrument typically played by novices and young students, Maurice Steger employs great skill while playing the somewhat unconventional instrument known as the Recorder. I do wish to hear more of his talented musicianship in the future.
When I was 14 dad told me to put away the recorder and take up the 'real' flute. Now I'm 71 and have alot of catching up to do. Like learning to play Emaj scale on an F alto and sopranino, I have to grow some new brain cells)
@Acyutananda das I can't forget when I did my music education practice at a private school in São Paulo in 1989, when many students in a class were playing with the recorders, partly as if they were dueling with swords a d others playing overhead hitting the classroom ceiling. The teacher literally struggled to get their attention. On the other hand, a grandmother of a student in a class who would start studying the recorder the following year had the following dialog with me: "I know that next year my granddaughter will start studying the recorder the at this school. My nephew recently brought one that he bought in Israel. You recommend that she only use the instrument in the classroom and when she is practicing at home and and not make a toy out of it, correct?" "Perfectly, you are absolutely right!" was my reply.
@@jeremiah3355 I was playing Aire on G string on a Yamaha alto at a wedding in NYC and met a secretary of the NY Philharmonic She said they use Yamaha Plastics sometimes because Yamaha analized the density of woods for their instruments

Bravo! Mythique Steger... Merci pour ce plaisir!
Amazing. It looks and sounds like the musicians are PLAYING. :D
What a beautiful piece. Astounding.
Una extraordinaria interpretación de Steger, el gran suizo.
His cheek muscles are incredibly developed!
Such exceptions mastery, a delight to be entranced. Takes me back to living in Germany exhibiting this incredible craft.

Your playing is beyond brilliant. I play but I can only aspire. I’m hoping to travel from Scotland to one of your concerts.

Gotta love the power stance.
This is sooo good, very nice, how do you do that ??❤️✨
OMG. Such power!
My whole life was a lie
Now I've seen the real recorder
YouToob will help us work thru our music trauma.
@@daveybernard1056 me as well til I met a teacher who said ''the recorder is an awesome instrument It's not a toy''

EXCEPTIONNEL
Vivaldi devait être un fameux sadique pour imposer une partition pareille au flûtiste ! Pire encore, le Maurice s'en sort à merveille ! Quel talent
Oui, mais ce n'est pas une flûte, c'est une flûte à bec
I believe the begging of the 3rd movement was a inspiration for Bach's Brandenburg no5
It's actually the opposite : Bach copied Vivaldi's most beautiful lines... And then transposed for multiple instruments !
Danke
incroyable
Just noticed interesting thing: I'm 185 cm height and wearing 45-46 size shoes and Murice seems 176-180 cm height and wearing 45-46 size shoes :)
❤❤❤
Only Maurice could tackle this madness. Vivaldi was cruel to recorder players lol
They're incredibly fast !
Beating the Dragonlord with the bamboo pole
why his soprano recorder sounds perfect and the mine sounds horrible?:(
I don't know, but you're not alone, buddy!
His is a professional wooden handmade Recorder. The sounds made really depend on how gently you breath and play

What is doing the Coldplay baterist like cello man ?
0:26 why am I here?
to learn
Imagine the level of concentration this needs.
C'est que le Maurice a des attitudes surprenantes ! et drôle .....
is that a soprano recorder?
Probably a descant in 415 so it's a bit larger than a mordern pitched descant
Yes, it is a soprano
hanni banni21 I think you're right.
I think it's a soprano in Bb (as opposed to the usual one in c)
He have 500 flute bout he play almost always soprano and tenor
problema na reprodução dp som quando toca a flauta
Brilliant recorder player, can’t choose a suit to save his life
