Wicked Official Trailer Reaction (Also me pining over the 2003 musical)

- So despite my excitement for this trailer, I was low key bummed about the playbill. But the show must go on... so alas here is my reaction and take on Wicked... which I forgot to mention will be a 2-parter!
#Wicked is an upcoming American musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman. It is the first of a two-part film adaptation of the stage musical of the same name by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which in turn was based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire and characters from L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The film stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, with Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode (in her film debut), Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, and Peter Dinklage in supporting roles. Set in the Land of Oz, largely before Dorothy Gale's arrival from Kansas, the plot follows green-skinned Elphaba and her path to ultimately becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, alongside an unlikely friendship and later rivalry with a classmate who later becomes Glinda the Good.
Theatrical release in the United States is scheduled for November 27, 2024, with Wicked: Part Two slated for November 26, 2025.

You and me both. I had missed the play/musical. From what I can feel about this trailer, it is certainly (yes I know there are multiple themes to this)...this feels to me to be a love story between two good friends on a soul level. This is something very few films show. The music is this is so beautiful, the sets and the choice of people for the casts. I love Cynthia Erivo playing the main character and Ariana Grande being in this too feels like a perfect match. I had heard a lot of love went into making this and it shows in the trailers. So looking forward to this. Thank you for sharing♥♥♥ I saw The Wiz onstage and it was gorgeous.♥

I'm not a fan of musicals, but the story of Wicked always intrigued me. I first saw Jeff Goldblum on the TV show Tenspeed and Brownshoe.
Yeah this definitely got me into musicals when I first saw it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it in theaters this November, also, I'm heard nor familiar with 'The Wizard Of Oz' because of the references from the TV shows from the music videos from the artists. However, I'm gonna rewatch the original film before watching it, overall, can't wait to see it. 💗💚🧹
Yes watch the OG Wizard of Oz and the Wiz👏🏽🙏🏼 you can still follow the movie if you don't because Wicked is an origin story where the main cast of the Wizard isn't a focal point
