One of my all time favourite Rap verses is Master Killa on “Mystery of Chess Boxing” - and now that I kno it was his first ever rap just makes it even more incredible for me!! Wu the greatest group of all and any times!!
Innovation goes a long way. Masta Killa's flow was inspired by hanging around GZA and being influenced by the atmosphere at RZA's house and this is what that created. When you're around dope MC's and you wanna fit in, you're not gonna suck. It inspired him to be as dope as possible and probably innovated him to explore something he didn't even know he was capable of. In that environment, discipline and dedication is what it takes..... and trying to compete with other great talent, makes even better talent. That's why hip-hop is trash today....it's basically "I gotta out mumble them to stand out on this track to get a career" or "I better do something ignorant for attention to build instagram followers so I can start a talentless career in something else."
"I was rollin. Showing my Age, unshaven. / Rugged with my Timberland that's paid.
