Masta Killa, KA & Gza have managed to master what I call the “calm bomb” technique. Very reserved, still explosive, well spoken, less long but twice as strong in terms of content and verses. Phenomenal bodies of work from all of them. Gza and Masta Killa should do a joint album together. I think it’s long overdue. #allpraisesdue #peacetothegods
You on point with that! KA is mad calm. Roc is fire and the Genius is is is a genius. He the head....we form like Voltron and just happen to be the head
Jamie Vick i been saying that for years..i want to see a gza, master killa and killa priest album..i want it to be called the 3 wiseman with a image of them 3 in the desserts dress in dessert outfit..and all 3 of them pointing towards a star in the sky shaped in the wu tang logo sign ..just like the 3 wiseman in the bible...i want the productions to be the same as it was on the beneath the surfaces production..and i want a booklet with all the lirics and all 3 of them breaking dow. exaclty what they meant in eachrimes on some wu-thesaurus tip..
Actually there's a lot of people who reckon he was ridin' coat tails or that some of his stuff on NSD wasn't worth the wait or that he fell off the map on his next two albums. He's quite a divisive figure in the Wu pantheon.
I am so happy that you've dedicated an entire interview to this man. He's way too overlooked. Hearing about how he came up with his classic rhymes... very pleased
Peace! I agree. Definitely vintage Wu sound. I wrote a review for Weekly Rap Gods.com as well. But cho...real talk...the illest sh#t poppin right now is a group called CLOUD CITY PROJECTS. I was rocking to the new Wu LP to write a review to it. But THIS right here sun...better than the most LP's I've heard this year.
rubski 1978 do you remember what the track was called? I packed all my cd's away years ago, wana go and dig that one and uncontrolled substance out of the vault and bump that shit
Masta Killa is a such a humble and positive brother, it was a joy watching this video and really changed my frame of mind today. Plus, that Loyalty is Royalty is a new classic! Much Respect.
i met this man in person he is exactly who he says he is humble thorough dude god bless this brova met him on the set of a straight to dvd movie 💯🔥👌🏽 bobby digital
At 34 minutes Rosenberg says Wu wasn't on Hot97 radio during Wu-Tang Forever. He forgets or overlooks that Wu was boycotted off Hot97 for 10 years. MK probably just didn't want to reopen old wounds. That's old news. That's why Wu wasn't on NYC radio during late 90's/early 00's. But even without Hot97's and NYC radio support WU-TANG WAS STILL SINGLEHANDEDLY RUNNING THE RAP GAME. They didn't need radio. They were the top hip-hop group of all time.
Chessboxing was his first and Glaciers Of Ice is his third. He said he wasn't even rhyming when he met GZA just before the Clan got signed. That's crazy how he can just come with that. He also grew up around Jeru and Afu Ra.
Super underrated. A remarkable thinker with, ACTUALLY quote: “lyrical” content. Study his verse on triumph. He is very calm, fluent, metaphorical and scientist without it sounding verbose and over the top nerdy back pack. Instead it sounds more like a smooth ol g from the block that possesss natural stability in his composure and his ability to paint really dope pictures. ANYONE who says that he’s some type of nobody foot note in the clan is sadly ignorant and a hack as far as hip hop listening is concerned.
Lot of dope albums this year Prodigy - hegelian dialectic Sean Price - Imperius Rex Thirstin Howl - Skillmatic Psycho Les of The Beanuts - Dank God Apathy & O.C. - Perestroika Czarface - First Weapon Drawn Kool G Rap - Return of the Don Talib Kweli and Styles P - The Seven Roc Marciano - Rosebudd's Revenge Raekwon - The Wild. Etc... I've been consuming some good rap this year. Peace to the Gods!!!
His verse on "Assassination Day" on Ghostface album is my favorite by him. He had the illest verse on the Enter The 36 Chambers verse next to Inspectah Deck's CREAM verse, and all of ODBs verses.
I need to know what fountain of youth, blood sacrifice, some of these Wu Tang members are partaking in, b/c Masta Killa looks 30. Method Man looks younger now then he did back then. It's so good to see brothas aging so handsomely and gracefully!!!
He's been through some shit, he's very good at answering a question without actually answering it. He's a very quiet reserved individual. There's a pain in his eyes, like he's hiding the darkest of secrets. I know we've all got skeletons but...
I think the Original Rage/Wu Tang tour was 1997.. I remember being a senior in High school and The Dave Matthews Band concert was the same night in Boston.. The goodie goodie rich kids went to DMB and us stoners and bad asses were going to Rage Against the Machine WU Tang Clan show in the suburbs of Boston... The class was divided... WE saw the better show!.. Killa bees on tha swarm!! Wu Tang Forever!
No Said Date, MK’s first album is really really good imo. It came waaaay later than it should have but it is fire. Highly recommend if some of the Wu heads out there haven’t heard it. Excellent guest appearances and beats.
First time seeing this interview today lol dude is too cool in all interviews. The clan saga shows how this went down for sure... the chess reference took me back to rza's part where playing chess against his negative and stubborn self process... this makes the show 50 times illa in my head 😆
Rosenberg I'm from Md actually Baltimore and sold and smoked with Cappadonna.... We have a thing called "Hacks" where people give a ride and are paid for transportation! That's what he was doing here in Baltimore, the charge if caught (because it is illegal😂) is called "Gypsy Cab"

Just wanted to say after listening to the new Moon project at Mastic killers new album and watching his interview he is right about sharpening his craft the whole way through because from my standpoint now he is the best Lyricist and you can hear it in the songs and then the lyrics and it is falling attack so it's good to see someone still taking it seriously not that the rest of them don't but I got to say man Master killer is the sharpest now. And you can't really tell me wrong if you listen to all the newest stuff peace
"proceed with caution as you enter..." -Masta Killa. Extremely underrated emcee.
Penn Papyrus I was just bumping ob4cb and that verse gave me brain chills.
this the most words he's ever spoken on camera in life

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dope observation .

Half short and twice strong. Love it!

Heavily underrated rap artist!
Big time

Actually there's a lot of people who reckon he was ridin' coat tails or that some of his stuff on NSD wasn't worth the wait or that he fell off the map on his next two albums. He's quite a divisive figure in the Wu pantheon.
Is he the most humble MC in history?
Brian C no doubt
Rakim
KA
Inspectah too!
he up there but I nominate Jay Steele for his song "Peace Not War" off "For The Love" album
This dude killed A LOT of verses and always went hard, from "Chessboxin'"onward
I am so happy that you've dedicated an entire interview to this man. He's way too overlooked. Hearing about how he came up with his classic rhymes... very pleased
Wow Mata Killa is such a nice person. Very smart, humble, positive and grateful man. A man can learn allot from him.

I am so happy to see all the comments and love for Masta here. Sometimes you feel like people forgot who our legends are.
Cappadonna and Masta Killa are very slept on
no said date and made in Brooklyn is classic
rubski 1978 I definitely fucked with no said date
I remember a track or skit with some kids spitting fire. Wonder where those kids are today?
BZeeeB i think it was gza son and maybe also masta killa son
rubski 1978 do you remember what the track was called? I packed all my cd's away years ago, wana go and dig that one and uncontrolled substance out of the vault and bump that shit
BZeeeB i think its called the future
Masta Killa is such a humble person. I've never met him in person but he seems to be a great guy. I love the Wu but they ain't like that.
Adam Kołodziejczyk
Nah. He would clown you...
Masta Killa if your'e reading this, your humble attitude deserve an award. Considering you are in an industry which is full of showoffs...
Best interview ever. Masta Killa seems like the most humble and respectful dude out there. Lots to learn about life from this interview
Awesome dude fore sure
Real down-to-earth and humble dude.
Too humble. He hit the ground running with the best.

His two verses on the song "Friction" from Inspectah Deck's Uncontrolled Substances album are fantastic.

People hate on Pete but he gives the best interviews because he’s such a fan and geek for this culture. Juan Ep did it before everyone

This interview was way better than the one he did with Vlad.
Coz Vlad's a batty crease bruv!! 😂
all of Vlads interviews suck, he doesnt do his research and asks his questions in a very drawn out manner
He's been through some shit, he's very good at answering a question without actually answering it. He's a very quiet reserved individual. There's a pain in his eyes, like he's hiding the darkest of secrets. I know we've all got skeletons but...
Marcus Jackson

Whoever thinks that Masta Killa is Ghostface, obviously is not a Wu fan
Razor Blade White People always intentionally call Black People the wrong thing intentionally. Don't believe me? Ask Sam Jackson?
