Great to have you back , all looking good. Great informative video. The rumours not true then, Lord muck said he'd got rid of you for having too many masseys !!!!!
Any thing that is more than 20 years old you are likely to find someone else has worked on it at sometime. If not, there is usually signs of abuse or neglect.
Last week I saw a really original Ford 4000 and found myself saying how good it looked! Actually, I like pretty much all of the old stuff, it's good when anything gets preserved and a new chance to be useful. Thanks for watching.
I have top cover off my 165, just replacing cross shaft bushes but restoration has come to a stop, what with the cost of living sky high, trying to do bits that don't cost a lot.
@@keving2371 The part you are looking for is 1870934M1 I think. Any AGCO dealer should have them, also Steiner Tractor in Michigan are pretty good for that kind of thing. I'm in the UK. Thanks for watching.
I had to take off and refresh the top cover on my 135 after the E clip or circlip fell off the draft sensing rod thing and made it so it wouldn't lift at all, since then I got a 175 now also and I just discovered that it will not lift nearly as much. Time to refresh that one too I guess. At least it will lift my mower
@@ClarenceFudWeasel Thanks! I'm curious to see how it looks inside. My 135 was really clean. Also the 175 seems to have the pressure control lever unlike the 135
Whats a good Manual to buy ..to make sure the lift arm and draft arm linkages are doing what they are supposed to do ......dont seem to be a lot of movement in them ......Are they both suppose to have cotter pins in the holes ?
The I & T manuals are a good start if you are already familiar with wrenching on old stuff, also the actual dealer manuals can be found on ebay as well. The cotter pins are just in there for assembly/disassembly to save the springs flying around while you are trying to get things back together. As soon as the cylinder is bolted back in place, you can take them out again.
Hello. I see that you have a lot of knowledge about the lift in massey ferguson. Can you explain to me how to set the lift control lever for work, transport? I recently got mf 260turbo and the lift in this tractor is black magic for me. Regards :)
Depends where it broke. Has it had any work done on it recently? If not, probably worn control linkage inside allowing the lift ram to travel too far and hit the casing.
I have my top off a MF 165 You have that dash pot you were looking at...What excactley does it do ? I dont believe anything inside arm wise touches it .....
The response control lever on the right side of the transmission case by the dipstick presses the top plunger and alters the flow of oil through it. It is a linear damper to moderate feedback from the control cams to the control valve. Thanks for watching.
Looking pretty good, thanks for the update was wondering were you've been. 🙂👍
Thanks for watching. I have just been so ridiculously busy over the last few weeks.
Looking good now, won't be long
Nice of you to drop by.💯👌
I just can't wait to put it to work, and those wheels do look good don't they.
That's looking good now. Good tip about clocking everything first.
Glad it helps. Thanks for watching,
Can count on you getting the job done right 👍
Thanks, I'll try to film it all.
Looking good, almost there now 😊
It's so close! Thanks for watching.
Nice to see you back Clarence the 165 is really taking shape now👍
It looks like a tractor again. Thanks for watching.

@@ClarenceFudWeasel Lord Muck would not discard his friend 🙈
Despite what a lot of people think, we are friends and go back a long way.
Any thing that is more than 20 years old you are likely to find someone else has worked on it at sometime. If not, there is usually signs of abuse or neglect.
When it's finished, I am going to do a run down on what could have been avoided by regular maintenance and not bodging stuff. Thanks for watching.
Lord Muck is quite pleased about how a Massey looks, question being would you ever be quite pleased how a Ford looks?

Is there a hydraulic filter in the back end
Good to see you back 👍 interestin video on the hydraulics as it's somethin i would have shied away from 🤔 165 lookin well👌
I'm going to cover the whole thing and hopefully show it is not as complicated as it looks. Thanks for watching.
Look forward to seein that 👍

Keep going though, it will be worth it in the end, it just might take a little longer than planned.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks will do, great channel, keep up the good work.
Where do you get cross shaft bushings from ? Are you fellows in the UK ? Im in the US btw

Tractor is looking well mate... got my 4600 about finished and now a wheel seal has decided to leak..😭
Thanks! And isn't that always the way? Luckily it is not a particularly hard job, just time consuming.
Looks good 👌
Thank you 😋
Any friend of Lord Muck, hast to be a good person. I'm restoring my Massey Ferguson to35 tractor. Any information I can find would be helpful.
What size of rear tyres do you have put on this tractor? I'm looking for advice what to put on mine. Thanks in advance.
It was supplied with 12.4 - 32s, which is what I will probably put on there.

Check the state of the lift ram and relief valve, always a good place to start.

It looks more like a tractor again. What was the mistake you noticed in your last video?
It does, Sometimes I just go up there just to look at it. I'll do a quick update on that particular piece of stupidity next week!

@@keving2371 No, it's just an adjustable rate shock absorber l, nothing more than that.
