My very first Mario Kart DS cartridge I got in 2005 had Mario say "Let's-a go!" during the Nintendo logo at the beginning, but all the other ones I got since then had him saying "Yahoo!". Weird.
This has always been a weird oddity with MKDS. It depends on what country your copy is under, and what kind of DS you have. If you have a DS Lite and are in the States, it should have Mario saying "Here we go" If you have an original DS and are in the states, it should have Mario saying "Yahoo" This gets wacky if you ask how it changes if you have a non US version. I haven't even mentioned that some stated Mario says Yahoo every 10th time you boot the game. I read somewhere a long time ago that there's an ID or something that is applied to your DS when you change the background color of the menus, and MKDS reads this number to change what Mario says. However, the game doesn't read the ID properly so it is different for every system. The strangest thing though is that even though every single cart has a random behavior, they're locked to that behavior and can't be changed.. tl;dr, every copy of MKDS is different

Hi 63745, “Let’s-a-go” was actually unused. The U.S. got “Here we go,” and the rest of the world got “Yahoo!”
