Original Hack Description: Someone replaced the true moon with a fake one, Mario, without knowing anything, will be able to solve this problem thanks to "the little trip" he decided to have in midnight.
He will encounter Youkais and weirdos in every stage, and he must beat them all in order to find the culprit.
Before playing, read the .txt file. After that, enjoy and have fun!
Yes, Save States and Rewinds are used... kind of a lot sometimes but oh well.

That has got to be the hardest Bowser fight I have ever seen in a Mario hack. I will admit it's at least different rather then just using the typical fight with him in the Clown Car with little to no alterations. As a matter of fact all the bosses are custom and get pretty chaotic. Final difficulty rating: Very Hard/Light Kaizo. This game does have creative ideas in custom bosses, enemies, and music tracks but the difficulty really shows in the designs of both the bosses and even the levels. Though Mario has a health meter that really does not alter the overall difficulty. Many bosses have multiple phases and by the true end game in the secret world you end up in some insane situations. If you are some sort of person that enjoys sadistic yet creative levels give this one a try. Expect to get your butt handed to you a couple of times though. Especially by Count Koopula.

Frankly one thing i did not like is how Mario seems meaner and condescending compared to his canon self. He would actually be much nicer and happy-go-lucky in his interactions with the girls.

It was around midnight, and I saw this video in my feed, and then I said "Eh, idk what Touhou is but it's a SMW hack so"
And then the rest is history. I still have to clear a single Touhou game to this day haha

space without air, HAH I GET IT, I SEE WHERE YOU WERE REFERRING THAT LOL, this rom hack made me happy and smile :) love me some new theme as well.
It's probably been noticed because the hack has been out for a while but playing it, I was farming health and items on level 3 around the area where you use the Power Balloon. I bounced on an enemy and fell in the pit. As I fell, I went under the platform (Mario can pass through the walls) and instead of losing health, Mario went in like in the normal game and it resulted in an instant Game Over (tested it with full health too, it still happens).

The creator probably didn't implement Yukari Yakumo in this SMW Hack.
But Touhou without me is not Touhou. It is like Reimu without a Shrine. Or patchy without books. And why is Bowser in There? Yukari would be better. As the Only phantasm boss, I should be a Boss of the Secret level. But,
it´s just a game, nothing that a 1000-yeared Gap Hag cannot handle °_°
Yukari Yakumo Well, a Game shouldn't have every content from the earlier and later Games, Stories, etc. in it. I mean you can clearly see that this Game is more focused on Imperishable Night but more related into Mario's Platforming. Of course we have Elements from Touhou 6, 8, 10 and 11 combined into one SMW ROM Hack but that is the creator's deal of what he/she was planning ahead and implemented...

I like this game so much, that I created a thread about it on 2 Touhou forums, have showcased a boss battle on the Touhou Discord server 2 times and I have even managed to beat the entire game in one go without savestates or rewinds.

I've tried this game myself. I always get stuck on the third or fourth stage... (I forget which) If I could make it past that stage on a consistant basis I'd be fine since I found a way to grind for money there.

This was made during the 2000s. Making characters that are normally nice jerks to each other was standard practice back in the day

good hack but incredibly one sided in Mario's favor, the energy resets when ever it hits0 meaning the girls could beat him black and blue and he'd still win eventually.
Plus Mario is kind of a douche to some of them even before the fights.
that kind of thing should be reserved for Bowser alone.

Can you help me to get this thing working? I'm using znesw and patched the file with the IPS thing, but it says the file's a "bad rom". I tried getting NSRT to fix the problem but I couldn't find a safe download.
You need a clean uncorrupted SMW.smc data to completly patch the IPS File to get it to work. As far as I experienced.

This hack is missing Mario's voice-overs.
Because Mario does not feel like Mario without his voice.
Super Mario World originally doesn't really have Voice acting back in these days so a Hack dedicated to SMW but entirely different surely is very. *very* difficult to even add new Voices in it due to limitations and very slim to create.

Seven09 Well ok but is there any reason as of why I am making a SMBX Episode that is replicating Touhou but in Mario's Platforming? :P I know I shouldn't really do this but if the players could of been at least relative to Touhou and the Enemies too it would of been more sense but the Story is about Mario and the Toads riding on their Airships flying to a different unknown World that they have never seen before and then wandering around in Gensokyo without notice? That would be a thing but yet again, just as of how it would be executed from Touhou and Mario together like that.

I say, make a lunatic Touhou hack with some Mario content and we will go crazy lol (something like shooting SMB's characters using Touhou's plataform).
