Evil Chaos I’m not an adult myself but I’m in middle school, yet most the people in my ELA class read books owned by our teacher and out school. Then you’ve got me reading Carry On and the Monsters Of Verity. I tend to stick to certain genres. (Historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, and horror). Then you’ve got my friends reading cheesy romances. I’m literally the only person who’s read certain books and it kills me not being able to talk to someone about those books 😂

@@NilaR93 Let me save you the trouble. They're all brooding, stoic badboys who are extremely possessive over the main character, and get jealous when any other man so much as looks at her. They also sometimes act abusive towards the main character. Their bad behaviour is excused because they have a tragic backstory, or because that's just what their species is like (ew). They're also overwhelmingly arrogant and annoying, as well as sexually aggressive. Dorian isn't exactly like this, but as of the end of Empire of Storms (where I quit the series), it was where he was headed. The only character who was remotely tolerable was Sam Cortland, who was a character from the prequel novellas. But he's dead in the main story.

Since I read Percy Jackson before I read Harry Potter, I have to say that my favourite will always be Percy. I usually tell people that Percy Jackson was my Harry Potter because I grew up with it coming out every year, whereas when I read Harry Potter, they were all already out.
BUT that is not to say I think one is better than the other! I just have more personal connection to Percy, probably because of when I read it.

Harry Potter was the first series I really enjoyed, I devoured it when I was seven and. Harry Potter has always been there for me, and when my parents were splitting up, I used Harry Potter as my mini escape pod. I even took Hermione as my confirmation name.
    HOWEVER.
I recently read Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus and I'm half way through Magnus Chase. The diversity was something I hadn't seen in Harry Potter. I enjoyed reading it so much and it helped me accept me, something Harry Potter didnt really do. The acceptance that Percy jackson had shown people is incredible to me and as a series I think its really underrated. Riordanverse deserves so much more recognition.
So, I think both of them tie as my all time favourite series.

I love love love certain books on my shelves that I've only read once. Because it's hard for me to sit through it again. I go back for certain scenes but not the entire book.
Also about two copies of the same book, I have a copy of Hollow City that literally fell apart as soon as I got it. (the glue wasn't in I guess dunno) but as soon as I get another copy of it I'm not gonna throw out the other copy. I read that one first. I taped those pages in. Literally.

Dude I hate when people say that graphic novels aren’t reading! I don’t understand the logic because it’s a literal book with pages and then what are picture books? Not reading? Also buying new releases helps the authors 😄

Most of the criticism I've seen for John Green books are more about his characterization/apparently he uses a lot of manic pixie dream girl vibes.

My hot take: you shouldn't force yourself to read a book for any reason, read the books you want to read, you have no obligation or at least you shouldn't.

I’m reading a graphic novel for school this year it’s so cool. The literature curriculum is so varied and I love that. And once a year, we get a list of 5-20 books and we can choose which of those we’ll read. I feel like the teachers really make an effort to make us like literature

3:15 I have unhauled books because I thought I would never read them again and that's how I felt at that moment... Now I deeply regret it and I want them back 😂 maybe at some point you'll feel like you won't want to reread something, but... don't be so sure about that... except if you didn't like it obviously. That's my opinion on the matter 😅 ... ok bye 😅😅😅

I read Maus in year 12 (senior year for reference) and it was one of the books we could choose to write about in our final examinations, genuinely one of the best graphic novels I've ever read and chances are I might never have read it if it wasn't in my curriculum

Yes!!! We read Maus in school, however, they took it out of the curriculum a couple years ago :( no more graphic novels in the curriculum. Also I agree about the Simon and Baz parts of Fangirl! Tho I wouldn’t cut them out bc of how they helped her and Levi connect.
