Academic psychology is only suitable for intellectual narcissists to entertain their peers over cups of coffee. A practicing intellectual person does not need forty subjects studied in universities, but much less. So you need to come to the university once a year for a week or two not only to take a small number of exams (one exam per year), but above all to communicate with intelligent people who help to systematize the experience gained during discussions. . It is necessary to implement the principle of Socrates: it is not necessary to put ready-made theories in a person's brain, but to let theories be born in his brain. Lectures and practical classes are identical. You will have different supervisors usually. Your director of studies (at your college) organises who your supervisors are. Often your supervisor will be based at your college but not always - most of mine have been PhD students from other colleges, though in STEM it is much more common to have PhD students as supervisors than older Fellows. You will have different accommodation and access to different resources - I would recommend applying to a wealthier college because they can be more generous with grants.

I went to grammar school. You’ll probably be better prepared for uni if you go to a grammar school. Unis shouldn’t mark you down though for going to a non-selective school and might even be more lenient
