Does Oxford and Cambridge distinguish grade 8 and 9 at GCSE?

For the first one I said 7^6 = 49^3 which is close(ish) to 50^3. Which is way easier to calculate. Edit. Damn I actually got it.

I’m very late to this video and have never seriously considered oxbridge but I’m wondering if it’s worth applying for after getting my GCSEs today? I hope to study law at uni and I’m thinking of taking history, literature, philosophy and maybe Spanish for a levels I’m unsure if my GCSE grades will keep me out of Oxford tho? I got 5 9s in History, Spanish, Literature, Language, French 2 8s in geography and biology (2 marks away from 9 ;( ) 2 7s in physics and chemistry And 1 6 in maths😬 STEM is definitely not my strong point as you can tell but I’m wondering if this will make it hard to go to Oxford for more humanity related subjects? Hello! I have taken Further maths at AS level, and am considering only continuing with bio, chem and maths for A level. Do you think having further maths helped your application to Cambridge and is it worth continuing it? Thank you! I like further maths but I find it requires a lot of work and wonder if the time might be better spent on doing deeper and wider reading of biology. Would love to know your thoughts :-)

It’s completely unfair as to how students that obtain top grades from statistically low-achieving schools are weighted more significantly than top-achieving students from schools with a superior statistical performance. This is because majority of the time the difference is not in the quality of education being provided by the schools but the disparity between the quantity/quality of work being put in outside of lessons by the students. Especially for GCSE subjects where the online resources are more than adequate to provide students with a thorough understanding of the topics. In addition, majority of the higher-achieving students from the lower-ranked schools are either seeking external support via tuition or investing more time into their studies than their counterparts. By no means does it demonstrate a greater aptitude than those who go to higher ranked schools. What distinguishes the A/A* students from the C/D category is what they’re doing in their spare time.

The mountain is getting more dangerous each year with climate change increasing the chances of avalanches and crevasses. It's about basic respect for the mountain, local economy and yourself. Don't be a cheapstake when it comes to your safety and that of others.

I just hired crampons and piolet in Chamonix for about 200 Francs/20 euro and walked up to the top. Slept for 5 hours in a snow hole on the edge of the grand plateau 3700m below the top emergency refuge at about 4,200 m between the 2 peaks. It’s just a walk, but you need to know what you’re doing to minimise risk, wait for good weather etc. It’s dangerous if you get lost in fog, caught in avalanche/rock fall etc. Death rate for this climb is about 1/200…not insignificant.

The integral at min 5:00 gave me cancer. You can't integrate something over a variable x, pay attention VARIABLE, x is changing value in an interval, and evaluate it, waiiiit for it, in x? Out of all the possible values for the upper interval of integration, he picked the only wrong one.

Hii, for the first question could we have not used differential approximation to do it? we can say that for some exponential function a^x = f(x) x=2 and delta(x)=4 and then applied the approximation formula?
