Visited Cambridge a few years back accompanied by a friend who is an alumni too. He did the 'Punting' for us and it really is an experience worth having.
Thanks for reminding me of my rejection :'')
Theres tons of coloured people in Cambridge, no idea what you're on about
@@adamcummings20 Are you living under a rock? The rascist oxbridge curtails admission for people of color.Such a shithole you rain soaked island nation is.
@@saptakmukherjee3051 There might be lower success rates for people of colour, but universities don't actively reject people based on ethnicity. Also, even though people of colour may have higher rejection rates, since many more white people apply due to Britain just being majority white, more white people are rejected in raw numbers. Meaning even if ethnic minorities are more likely to be rejected, any given rejectee is most likely to be white.
Cambridge is like a fairy tale. Unfortunately, Mr. Bloomberg, not all of us have the money to rent a barn...
Mr Angus Bennett, I like this video very much. Wish it could be longer. And please show us more destinations in North America & Europe.✈️ We want more!
Absolutely beautiful little gem. I also love Oxford.
If you are lucky enough to pursue some academic studies or conduct important reasurches Cambridge University is the right place, for inspiration, perfectionism, professionalism...brains enrichment, the place for brilliant students, it's rather their paradise.
@adibese not at all, everyone will benefit from your studies and researches once you graduate.
Such wonderful city
The university and around so nostalgic
Cambridge is always in my heart
wonderfully shot
Just graduated... miss this place so much already :(
you don’t have to answer this but do you think it was worth it? If so what job did you get?
I graduated from Cambridge in 1955 ! And I still miss the place. I visit it as often as I can living in the USA.
One of my favorite cities in the UK
the music on the background is beautiful
Cambridge is nice beautiful and historic place.
beautiful. Oxford and York and are nice small cities
Nice snapshot of England's most beautiful city. It's worth noting that the very first shot definitely isn't Cambridge - one giveaway being the hills in the background :)
I live 20 miles south of Cambridge, it's a beautiful place and I try and get there as often as I can!
What a wonderfull place! To study enjoy a nice sunny day and a beer 😁
I live in cambridge and it is modern in some parts and old in others it is beautiful and there are many fun activities
Wonderful city
It's the ideal city of almost everyone, calma and paceful
Those country sides 😍
What soundtracks are playing in the background???
miss this town
that's very beautiful
I am going to the Cambridge Folk Festival next weekend. It will be my very first visit
there, but please will someone tell me why some people persist in calling it a town
when clearly it is city. anyhow I'm looking forward to the experience there...
Great views from my Alma Mater.
What train makes it less than an hour because all the routes I'm looking at are 1.5 to 2+ hours?
Great City!
I love it 🥰
Are there a lot of international restaurants, gyms and pharmacies?
Besutiful city!
True❤ I’ll come back soon
Great place huh 👍
someday gonna visit )
I don't know if this has been asked already, but why in the opening few seconds, are you showing Gloucester Cathedral.
I have friends from Oxford
I will be moving to Cambridge for my graduate job soon so I've been trying to learn as much about living there as I can and this video made it look probably nicer than it actually is. Isn't it gloomy most of the days?
Well it’s gloomy a lot outside of summer (becasue it’s Britain) but it is nice in summer
Beautiful Cambridge ...................I m so happy to have a Cambridge Certification changed my life
Ummm Gloucester in opening shot??
i think I am so brave
The opening shot is certainly not Cambridge!

I come from Germany and I want to study in Oxford or in Cambridge
Anyone else puzzled over the first shot? This chapel is not in Cambridge I swear...
@@shaquebrazil7503 - Where is that cathedral-looking building in Cambridge? Or those hills!?
That's Gloucester not Cambridge. I recognize the Gloucester Cathedral and backdrop. Cambridge has a more flat/countryside scenery feeling.

How about jagex :(
You missed a really famous bridge and why Cambridge is jam packed with Chinese tourists spending money there while Oxford less so.
Oxford is PACKED with tourists. They love the history and architecture.
It's a lovely city but that library building looks awful. Such a shame how modern architecture ruins cities. If it's a histrocial city, keep it historical. At least it's not too bad compared to the likes of today.
It's a classic 1930s building - kind of classical meets modernist. Yes, it might look more befitting of somewhere in America - but so does the Senate House in Cambridge. It's a Cambridge feature to be innovative. There are also fine examples of 1960s buildings in Cambridge which feels so much more alive as a result. Cambridge still looks stunning in a fairytale sense along The Backs. It does all fit together. It's not some cheap takeaway that's been knocked up.
It was like the party headquarters of a former Soviet republic. Not bad inside but a bit claustraphobic
1209 not 1208
What about Oxford???
I have officially decided to make Cambridge the city the Protagonists of my book lives in
best place in the world)
It’s a city
that first clip isnt in cambridge lol
@Avigail Marcus Where is it then, my first thought was john's college, but the street you can see is not bridge street and there are hills in the distance?
@@439bananas It is the medieval cathedral of Gloucester (over in Western England).
@@tamaracarter1836 Thank you, I regularly go to Gloucester Quays, but haven't got as far as the cathedral. Love Cheltenham too.

There's a lot of homeless people and students and I tell you this for a fact, the homeless people are much nicer
I've never met so many down-n-outs as in Cambridge and you're right they're v friendly. Most of my fellow students were c**ts
Ofcourse... The homeless people are just studentrs trying to cover their debt...
Shaque Brazil there are quite a lot of homeless people in Cambridge because of the high house and flat price because it’s near London and it’s a major city.

I don't know why - because they're right, Cambridge is pretty and historic - but I found both Cambridge and Cambridgeshire a really dreary and depressing place, and I wasn't the only one who found that. Ok for a quick visit, but don't stay there too long
Well, lol, every city is like this. Like Paris for example, nice place to visit, wouldn't like to live there. I think Cambridgeshire is very pretty and heard the people are lovely.
the local people are nice and friendly, but it was a horrible place to live
@@user-yn3yd8mk6z I didn't like my humanities degree course much actually it was really boring and in terms of getting jobs it was a total waste of time (time was _any_ Oxbridge degree would guarantee a career at the foreign office, but those days are long gone.) Unless you're taking a subject which actually is a job (eg medicine) you're much better off doing an apprenticeship. Really grey and depressing place like living in a mausoleum for 3 years. Most of the students are pleasantly mannered but underneath ruthlessly ambitious monsters. I deeply regret going there
@splinterbyrd I found lots of great things to do and see in Cambridge (inside King’s College Chapel being one of my favourite), and around Cambridgeshire - Ely and its incredible medieval Cathedral, as well as the one in Peterborough (not so much the town however). Then in neighbouring Norfolk lots of great country houses/ castles such as Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Blickling Hall, Castle Rising etc. not to mention the well preserved medieval city and Cathedral of Norwich.

It can get boring after a while
There isn't a whole lot to do
There's plenty to do and if you want more choice London is only half an hour away by train
*sees title* is it tho
I live here and its boring af..
Yea, Cambridge isn't exactly a hub of night life and entertainment. It's main attraction is the uni, though like the video shows there are points of interest.
That's surprising with all the students around. Aren't there any bars?
MrMrilikepie1234 Yes but that doesn't necessarily make a town or city "exciting."
Go down Mill Road mate, go down Mill Road. We're not all middle class in Cambridge.
When I saw this video I thought it was Cambridge Massachusetts in the beginning
I’ve lived here all of my life and it’s boring af
@Ashly R honestly I just see you everywhere calling ppl kids bc they think Cambridge is boring, they have their own opinions just respect it
Who else thought this was about Cambridge, Massachusetts?
I would imagine the default for most people seeing the words "Cambridge" and "University" together would be Cambridge University, England. Having Harvard come to mind is probably just a provincial east coast American thing
thought this was boston lmao
it certainly is, is the breeding ground for racists
4 a moment I thought about Mass. USA....,.
I'd rather spend a weekend in a back street Favala, then in this place. Soulless.
It's the complete opposite of soulless! I lived there for nearly 20 years and it's a beautiful place and the vast majority of people are lovely.
Lived here once. Extremely boring and dull. Brighton was much better.
Oh, wrong Cambridge...
Cambridge is for people who could not get into oxford .
This makes no sense as you can't apply to both, you apply to Oxford *or* Cambridge, not both...
yakuza4 if ur aren't confident enough about getting into Oxford then you apply for Cambridge.
Not sure where the Cambridge hate is coming from. Maybe the porters yelled at you for being on the grass when you were younger, although guessing you have not spent much time in Cambridge or Oxford. Both are incredible schools. If you don't want to use the Nobel Prize metric, then how about the endowment? Cambridge. How about most wins in the Varsity Match? In the Boat Race? I'm sure Newton, Darwin, Keynes, Turing, Rutherford, and Byron just hated themselves later in life for making the mistake of choosing Cambridge. Even Stephen Hawking wanted to stay in Cambridge over Oxford. What have you done with your supposed "Oxford connection" other than troll Cambridge videos on TH-cam?
It has one of the highest rates of bike theft in England and Wales, because nearly everyone rides a bike.
Kinda like Amsterdam then as that is the case there as well lol
I sat talking to a group of bike thieves once (all sat on the grass in one of the parks) and they said they thought that bike theft was a standard part of the local economy "That's what Cambridge is about innit?"
