In the topic of imperial guard tooth to tail, what backline jobs could be handled by servitor?
Id say at a baseline cooks and logistical trucks in green zones where you can basically pre program a route into the servitor

So generally I would say those are handled by humans because programming a servitor to cook would be relatively difficult in my opinion and not really worth it when people in the regiment need jobs or things to do like family members or camp followers. Theirs plenty of other things though like setting up tents or prefabricated structures, moving equipment, maintenance and what would in my opinion very common is communications and correspondence systems would literally be hooked into servitors to assist their mobility. Again like servitors are not very smart and while they can do some things their much better at simple tasks and people do much of the fancy stuff like cooking and possibly even driving. Servitors usually don’t drive but they can their just not very smart or gentle so they might be on like a “closer track” or regimented driving route like they just take supplies from area A a few miles to area B. They can’t really deal with things they weren’t expecting so if they run into an obstacle like a rotten tomato or a tree in the road they might just stop and get confused or just keep going and mess it up where a normal human can actually problem solve. I love the idea though and definitely some higher grade servitors can do more but cheaper is more common. That’s a very good thing to delve into with like the operations of the guard which is another video. Thank you

@hydragonsbreath3418 the reason I was asking is because if you are fighting a regiment that is trying to save on manpower by using servitors, attacking their backline suddenly becomes hugely easier

@ well it also is easy anyway because most humans in the back line of a regiment will be camp followers going with that 1(soldier): 3 (support staff or camp followers) thing. So those people wives, children, family members, Administratum serfs etc including servitors will be unarmed 90% of the time so yeah the theory holds

woohoo, Steel Legion the best example to display the Guard's mechanisation! id say using the terrain of the hive cities would be the best way to restrict their use of armour... dispersing heavy weapons in open terrain against mobile armour is just a bad idea but within the confines of the hive its probably the best way to bog down the Legion, they've got lots of experience with urban-fighting but the mobility of their vehicles is still gonna be constrained by the terrain - you can only fit so many Leman Russ in a street at a time and well-placed lascannon will make that street impassible without a grinding infantry advance to clear every building on that street... fortify the cathedrals, administratum offices and most importantly the manufactorums producing war material, the Imperium may be willing to risk a precise orbital bombardment on hab-blocks but they'll be far more reluctant to destroy these key sites... dont even necessarily need to fully fortify them all i mean the manufactorums you want sure but the cathedrals the administratum offices just staff them with a few of the militia, then rig em up with explosives and assign a single zealot with a detonator to the place, let the Guard storm the place and once they're inside bring it down on their heads lol man i love traitor regiments and just how sneaky they can be such good fun thankyou for the video cant wait to see the bolter-babes!

@@trippyulyanov2012 yep well I felt like people would enjoy them and I do have to clarify when I said bringing heavy weapons into the field I was talking more like a single lascannon set up in a long range ambush or a platoon or two of regimental regulars in the midst of a civilian force. Also with Column hives you get a lot less of that fun orbital and urban terrain to mess with. I was defaulting to the more digging trenches and making bunkers type of defense but you are absolutely right if we were talking proto-mushroom-or spire hives. Secondly is yeah the guard try not to just destroy stuff so the sneaky traitors can do lots of nasty things. I see you take your inspiration from that tactic from the siege of hades hive if I remember rightly. Civilians fill the spire fight to the last man then the last man detonated the charges. Quite the impressive display. My hope would be that we can reach our overall goal before we have to do that tactic but it may be needed if we need to keep the warp portal open. As usual thank you for your comment and cheers
