Ostia an Agri World from Wrath & Glory is the only source I know that has a space elevator and goes into detail about it. Art for Mars depicts its Ring of Iron with multiple elevators. They definitely exist but may go unmentioned or be archeotech.

I definitely see them existing on kinda low tech worlds where a spaceport would be a waste of resources or too hard to maintain for the local government. Theirs a couple like ship assembly ports that smack of similar concepts but either way info much appreciated
would column hives be easier to defend than spire and mushroom type hives? cos i can see the confined terrain being quite and advantage for defenders, not only can they relocate faster, but i cant see there being a whole lot of room to manoeuvre armoured vehicles inside them at least not beyond the skirt and lower levels but like every ramp and elevator is a chokepoint, plus there's potential boobytraps like dropping sections of floor on top of (or out from underneath) an attacking force, or flooding entire levels with water or toxic gas or maybe even burning promethium lol im not sure but it feels like id have an easier time defending a column type hive than any other type... either way spectacular video, love hearing a bit more about the infrastructure and average living conditions always good fun thank you very much man
@@trippyulyanov2012 it is possible I admit I usually only consider the walls and artillery when considering a hives defenses but you make a good point. I think the big upside though of the column is the ability to continue operations as a hive while under total siege. Imagine your surrounding a hive trying to find a way to break into it and the damned thing is still churning out firearms and ammunition constantly increasing the number of soldiers available to itself. The other big one is that you can put like 10 column hives in an area where only 3 spire hives would be viable so it saves space. All good points in your part though. Glad you enjoyed.
