Hey Rob, I really appreciate your honest and thorough reviews of the construction products you use. I have been thinking of getting some heated gear and your review was very helpful. Thank you!
Don’t have hexon Picked up a toughshell last January. Love it. I picked up a 18v adapter and put a 3AH HO in it. Feels warmer Waiting for clearance sales to pick up an axis
@@luke8952 I have. I wear a tool vest /suspender rig, and I put the vest over it. Like many garments if its too long it can block pockets - so you need to consider that when sizing. Theses a helpful sizing chart on the website
Does it keep the wind out? Because the last Milwaukee heated vest I had it was trash. It doesn’t matter how much heat comes out if all of heat can escape and gets replaced with cold air instantly
Ok, so it’s -2•c in Mk (England) where I live today. Just checked concord NE and it’s -14•c, the coldest I’ve ever worked in was -10, my hands were all split and we were absolutely freezing up to our knees in snow building a igloo sauna of all things! Love USA but u can keep ur -14
@ I can believe it! The -14 Celsius you have today (7degrees Fahrenheit) is very close to the coldest day ever recorded in the Uk. I guess you dress and act accordingly, i don’t even own a pair of work gloves and spend half my time working outside. Wouldn’t last till lunchtime there without some research!
@ -5 is a particularly bad day here, might be different up north. I just don’t have the clothing to work in it, thermal t shirt, 2 hoodies and maybe a coat depending on how much mobility I’m gonna need! Dunno how u do it but ur ancestors must of been hard af moving to a climate like that 😂😂
@@hambone7564 Well, sir, I’ll take that as a compliment! While I’m not including my personal experience wearing several heated garments over the years, it did take me about 6 hours to research and prepare the video script, and another 5 hours to film and edit. A lot of time and effort go into these videos, and I pride myself on being honest and professional. My hope is always that you walk away having learned something valuable about the tool or product I’m discussing. Thanks for watching
I have the jacket and you won't be using the hood at all.. it's the only down side I have to say with the new gear. The hoods are too stiff and not lined enough
@@ConcordCarpenter no. It's between a fall coat and a lightweight ski jacket most of the time working in 32° and above I don't even need to turn on the heat. And it definitely does not let any wind cut through what so ever.. this jacket is not a game changer it just makes working outside a lot nicer

Great Review Rob!
Thanks
Great coverage and info on the new lineup from Milwaukee. I guess it's time to update my older heated jacket now😎
thanks

Toughshell is a great choice.
Have you tried wearing your tool belt with the vest? I feel like the battery would be in the way and would drive me crazy.

Homie a Milwaukee sells rep lol
@@hambone7564 I don’t think Milwaukee sell reps, and I certainly don’t. What I do is report on, test p, and review tools and construction products.
@ConcordCarpenter Fair enough just seems like you were reading off a script sent to you

I don't like that the axis jacket is not offered without a hood.
I like the windstopper hoodie and vest
I have the Axis jacket without a hood. It is called the Soft Shell.

If I'm out all day I run my jacket off a dewalt 20v. Lasts much longer than the 12v milwaukee batts. A 5ah 20v will last me all day.
