I want to thank you so much for these videos I've been struggling with my mom's machine for a while I didn't remember how to use all the buttons and gadgets or how they worked properly. The sewing machine belong to my mom who passed almost 3 1/2 years ago. She loved to sew. It has been so frustrating not being able to work it properly until I found your videos thank you so much.
Thank you thank you thank you! I appreciate every single one of these videos in this Kenmore series! You have given me the confidence to get sewing with my Kenmore sewing machine, one little tutorial at a time! 💜
@@126roya I’m fine thanks for asking. I do live in Austin Texas USA. Where don’t put live and how’s the situation of things over there in regards to the economics standard and security?

I bought my kenmore sewing machine 2 years ago and finally recently dug it out the closet to learn how to use it. Your videos taught me how to thread it! The first thing I learned how to do with it. Thank you. Im on my first project and had to rewatch how to thead my bobbin when my thread ran out. Thank you for your videos. Very greatful.
I have an older Kenmore machine that I got about 25 years ago. I took a sewing class two years ago, but promptly forgot everything I learned. Thanks to your tutorial, I was able to get my machine threaded and made the same tote bag I learned to make in sewing class. I was ready to throw the machine out the window! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I bought my 385 about 3 or 4 years ago and had not taken it out of the box to use it. I owned an older model which I used for many years. When the Pandemic started, I wanted to make face masks for my family. So I pulled my new machine out but needed some help on the bobbin and top threads. Found your videos and I am so happy to follow each of them. Thanks for putting them on TH-cam. They are what I needed to begin using my new machine!
Hi Sandra, do you have a recommended brand/type of bobbin for this machine? A neighbor passed this kenmore 385 on to me but it didn't come with any bobbins and I need to know what kind to buy. Thank you in advance!
The 385 series use the plastic bobbins . Just type in Kenmore 385 bobbins on Amazon and the plastic ones will come up for this series. My manual also says use the plastic ones. Also 4 came with my machine. Hope this helps.
I just changed my machine light. It was too dim. I bought a pack of 2 LCD lights for my sewing machine. Look at the light that’s in your machine. It has 2 connections. Select those and you will be so delighted. These lights let you see so much better when sewing. Just type LCD light for Kenmore 385 series. They are so much better to use for this machine. It pops right in.
Thank you so much! I bought this machine from a friend awhile back and have just gotten around to learning how to use it. Your tutorials are so clear and easy to understand. :)
Thank you so much for this video. I swear I read the manual to fill the bobbin and I knew the needle should move when I was doing it but could not figure out how to make it stop.

@@whatsshecreating Agree! Thanks so much for this informative video! It's extremely helpful for me as a new sewer! I see that you're using a metal bobbin in your video, would a plastic one work as well? Do you happen to have a recommended brand/type? A neighbor passed this kenmore 385 on to me but it didn't come with any bobbins and I need to know what kind to buy. Thank you in advance!
for goodness sake... I watched like 10 videos just now and every time it came to the part where you put the thread through the hole of the bobbin, each person had their hand blocking the camera. THANK YOU for having a great tutorial with great visual aids! I just threaded my own bobbin! How exciting!
Thank you SO much for these instructional videos - honestly do not know what I would do without you! Quick question - what do we do if it only fills up like, half the bobbin then stops? What’s wrong? Also, what if it ISNT even?
You need to start over with an empty bobbin if it isn’t even. If it fills up only half the bobbin ... hmm... 🤔 I’d probably start over. If it keeps messing up I’d try to oil the machine and clean it. I have tutorials on both. Then if that doesn’t work I’d get the machine serviced. Hope this helps.
Your sewing tutorials are the ABSOLUTE BEST!! Thank you so much for the time and detail you put into them and your voice is like listening to an old friend. Blessings on ya!
THANK YOU all the tutorials I looked up never told me to push the bobbin to the right so I was so confused when nothing happened when i pressed the foot 😭😭😭😭 maybe its a model specific thing but alas u have saved me
I just purchased this machine from a yard sale,it has no manual and I would love to understand what settings to use in order to achieve the decorative stitches. please help! Sharm Messer
What if your kenmore sewing machine didn’t come with a bobbin and you can’t find the exact one anywhere can you use a different brand if so which one would you recommend for this sewing machine model??
I have a Kenmore model 1400-zig-zag sewing machine. I can not get the bobbin off the Winder on the top of the machine. The machine needs oiled and cleaned. Could this be why it won't come off!
Most Kenmore 385 machines used Class 15 plastic bobbins. However, your machine could vary. When you purchase bobbins online they have many, many model numbers. Check this before purchasing. Hope this helps!
You said t o make sure it is spooling evenly, but didn't give directions on what to do if it is not. Mine is spooling mostly on the bottom half, and not really putting much thread on the top part. I do not know how to make it spool evenly- everyone just assumes it will do so on its own. Help?
Make sure your plastic bobbin in pushed tightly on the bobbin winder. It should almost touch the white edge of the sewing machine. Also start off slow with winding the bobbin.
I was recently gifted a preowned Kenmore machine and so far, watched your second tutorial. Thank you for sharing.
