    Thanks for the video. I picked up this exact model for my daughter from Goodwill for $20. I got it sewing but need to clean it up and oiled it a bit. This was helpful.

    My machine runs great and I want to keep it that way, but I knew there had to be more we could do ourselves to keep our machines running smoothly than they include in the manual. Thank you for sharing this information!

    I just fixed up my 30 year old 385 following this video. My machine is not this exact one, but close enough to figure out the differences. THANK YOU!

    I have this exact machine and had loaned it out about ten years ago - just got it back. The reverse is not engaging, but it didn't take long to figure out why and how to fix it. It actually SAT UNUSED for those ten years it was loaned out. I'm now learning to do maintenance on it and your video helped tremendously. The sound and stitch quality of this machine is fantastic, even though it's an older machine. Thanks for your help.

    Thank you for this tutorial. However you need to have a light showing the areas you care pointing to because the inside the machine is dark.

    This was very helpful. Perhaps use an LCD flashlight or pointer to show where you are pointing. Someplaces where too dark to see clearly. But good job & good tips for using. Thank you.

    Thank you, very helpful! I have this model and I need more bobbins. I've checked the manual but it doesn't tell me which bobbins it uses. I think it class 15 but there seem to be differences within the class 15 bobbins. Do you know which specific ones I should use? Thanks!

    I'm finding it very difficult to remove that bottom cover. It sticks on the lower left corner and I can't get it out without the concern that I might break something. Any suggestions? Could you show the specifics on how you remove that bottom cover and how you reinstalled it

      Omgosh I was fiddling with that cover just this morning!
      You’ll figure it out with patience..I promise. I just happened to place it in such a fashion that I slid it in from left to right and it managed to go in without any problems.
      Good luck! There’s also Randy the sewing machine guy.

    I just purchased one and it seems to be stuck on the brown settings stretch settings and thread keeps braking any tips??

    • @sewingmachinemastery
      @sewingmachinemastery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Reyna,
      That happens because the Can stuck mechanism is jammed, so a finger running on a reel inside is tight, if you force the right knob the cam can be brakes, to remove the front cover you need to remove all covers around, when TH-cam unlock my channel over 1000 subscribers I'll be considering
      to make how I can remove covers

    Hey! I decided on your video to disassemble my sewing machine to lubricate. before it worked but when I assembled it the motor does not turn on. The light is on but the motor is not running. What I did wrong ? why did it stop working? tell please.

    • @sewingmachinemastery
      @sewingmachinemastery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, probably the foot control or motor carbon brushes are issued, usually Kenmores machines are working for so many years if this machine worked a lot probably the issue it is inside the motor the carbons are gone.

      GoodDogGroomer he’s using the words interchangeably. He means the same thing - sewing machine oil which you can find at Joann’s or similar craft stores can also find online.

      Oil is for moving metals parts and used often. Grease is a different product and used sparingly on gears. I’ve never greased because the gears still have factory grease.
      Dusting and oiling I do monthly.
