    Beautiful Cattleya! I learn something every time I watch your videos. A quick tip to other beginners like me:
    AquaFina water is filtered by reverse osmosis. I use it because I don’t have a lot of orchids to water yet, and I also don’t have a water filtration system. (It also tastes good!) 😁👍🏼❤️
    God bless you all!

    I really enjoyed seeing your gorgeous Cattleya. What a magnificent orchid and so well grown and cared for. Thanks for taking the time to share. I agree with you about using AAA spagnum moss. It sure makes a difference. Many blessings from our Lord be unto you. Shalom.🙏🏻🤗

    As always, your Catt never fails to steal the show. Still waiting for a division 😉 would love to trade orchids. I have a prolific Catt I found growing on a rock wall in Hawaii and it is a non-determinate grower/bloomer.

      I'm actually thinking about it. I've noticed the middle of the plant is getting very thick with pseudobulbs, and I might really need to. (!!!) I can't believe I said that. If/when I do, I'll let you know. What color is your Catt? just curious. LOL I need some motivation. haha

      @@OrchidWhisperer it’s a very pale, blush pink with a striated darker pink lip. It looks similar to a laelia anceps but it has softer more delicate features and a larger lip like a laelia purpurata. It’s a very tight and upright compact grower with long leaves and spikes.

      BTW...I'll be repotting this in the fall. That's the best time for this plant. I'll see if I can divide it without damaging it, that's my main concern. The roots cement themselves to the live moss. So let me see if dividing it is even an option. Thanks for the offer of the trade...I really appreciate it. I'll keep you posted. Have a great day and happy growing there in Montana! :)

    I want some of that Happy Sap!!!
    Actually, I do not raise Catt’s, but she is a treasure. However, I learned from one of the comments about Aqua Fina water being reverse osmosis. Good to know as I do not have a reverse osmosis setup.

      I did get AquaFina today, and will use it for my orchids and my true CC. I think I’ll use my filtered water for my TC, since I have so many. What a great tip from one of the Orchid Whisperer family.

    Hi Amy, is this the only cattleya that you have ? If not, then are all your cattleyas doing the same ? I am a beginner with 8 months experience and 4 cattleyas that have never bloomed, yet. I liked and appreciated your video which goes against what many other experts recommend, but one cannot argue with success, thanks Amy.

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andre! This is my only Cattleya. It was growing in sphagnum moss when I bought it, and so I left it in its original medium. I was very blessed that it was orchid grade moss! If you're going to try growing Catts in moss, I would try only one, and see how you like it. Did you buy yours bare rooted? Have a great day! Amy

      @@OrchidWhisperer my 4 cattleyas were bought from TG Orchids in Vancouver, July 2020 they were large seedlings in bark. I have repotted them in small bark and they are kept in a grow tent. I imagine that orchids need a year or two to get acclimatized to one's growing conditions. Thanks Amy.

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andredumas9547 since you bought them in bark, I would keep them in bark. It takes a while for them to mature enough to bloom. I hope they do really well for you! :)

    Hi, what an amazing Cattleya and story. I thought that spaghnum moss goes too acidic after 6 months and kills off roots, hence the constant need for repotting but your experience proves different! Your Cattleya is a beautiful unicorn. 🌸🌺🌸

      Hi Zoya! Yes, you can use fish fertilizer, but it is going to smell. I grow all my orchids inside so I do not want it to smell like fish. lol! Seaweed extract does not have a smell. Have a great day! :)

    Hi Amy. She's absolutely incredible!!! You've taken fabulous care of her.
    I just repotted my bag baby cattleya from July 2018. She's done very little and has not bloomed yet. I had her in red lava rock and just moved her into an orchid bark mix. Hmmm, maybe I should have gone with the NZ spagham moss.
    I've completed two repots with many more to go. I'm loving our spring weather. ☺️😎🙋‍♀️ Tammy in N AL.

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, Tammy! :) Orchid bark mix should be a good choice for your Catt. It sounds like you're in repotting mode...I'm looking through mine to see which ones need repotting soon, too. Happy growing and many blessings! Amy

    💚 Oh, thank you for this video! Yours is absolutely gorgeous! I bought 4 bag babies in the summer of 2019 in KY cause they aren't available in Az (my first Catts) I did the initial beginning repot in NZ spaghum moss and haven't ever totally repotted just upsized cause I was nervous of the delicate roots. Now...all 4 of them are growing rapidly and wondering how long till they might bloom for the 1st time? They are in my eastern windowsill here in ☀️😎 sunny AZ 🎋 Thank you for all you do. You are one amazing person, Amy! May the good Lord continue to bless you. 🤗

    • @OrchidWhisperer
      @OrchidWhisperer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww, thanks so much, Sharon! That made my day! :) If yours are rapidly growing, it won't be long till they bloom. This one started blooming prolifically when I moved it to my sunroom 4 years ago and started fertilizing it with my latest recipe. Please keep me posted on yours...I hope they bloom for you soon! (I believe some can bloom in summer. There's a grower here in my area whose Catts bloom June/July.) As soon as they start forming sheathes in between the leaves, it's not long before they bloom. Blessings to you, my friend! Amy
