    So far at the moment I have 185,786 miles on my 2019 Jetta S
    Mostly highway I’d say about 140,000 of the miles highway the rest city this thing has been nothing but a great vehicle I have the generic engine light that never goes away small eve app code since 65k miles
    I’ve literally done nothing on this vehicle but oil change tires brakes and tune up
    At the moment I’m getting ready to replace the control arms a little bit of wear sound in the ball joints but other than minor things like that this vehicle is amazing still ride smooth cranks right up floats down the road like a dream I am completely impressed with Volkswagen on this vehicle

    We’ve got a 2019 Jetta S and with about 36k on it so far, we’re super pleased. We are Jetta people and I have my husbands hand-me-down mk6 Jetta S (2013) and he has his 2019 Jetta S. The 2013 has about 190k and still drives really really well and I’ve never had any significant problems with it since we bought it 6 years ago. The 2019 Jetta is newer to us but so far we are blown away with the upgrade in generally every possible way. Feels more luxury oriented and the build quality as well as general fit and finish has improved dramatically.

    I was kind of pushed into my Jetta purchase and made up my mind that "I would not love it" no matter what. I barely drove it in silent protest, until a out of the blue road trip from Pensacola Florida to San Diego California, I can honestly say that I really dig this car. Great fuel economy, a pretty quiet and smooth ride and somehow surprisingly agile on curvy mountain driving. I never felt like I needed more power than it was able to give and there was enough storage for bags and stupid stuff that he picked up on the way there and back.
    I only had one "get out of trouble" instance and the Jetta seemed almost eager handle a sharp abrupt maneuver doing so maintaining solid control that I would go as far as very nearly as sure footed as my Mini Cooper S would behaved. For a compact entry level saloon I was then and remain impressed.

    I bought a used 2013 jetta at 98,000 miles and drove it for 5 years putting 100,000 miles on it.
    Replaced altenator and battery, besides that, normal oil change, plugs and wires and ran like a dream......
    Until some speed racer totaled the front end 😭
    I became such a fan, im stuck on Jettas, for sure.
    Just waiting on delivery of my 2019 Jetta from Carvana now 😁
    Less than 20,000 miles on it, so new i feel bad using it for work 😆

    The 1.4T feels very strong in a light car, for the most entry level offering. Very motivated 1st to 3rd gear although 4th and above seem slow. I can’t believe they get 40+ mpg on the regular.

    this car is designed to break down, everything is hard to work on and would cost a fortune to repair. Simply replacing the air filter is a job and half because vw placed 7 torque screws on the cover. Honda has two simple clips.
    VW is doing everything they can to stop people from buying this car.

    Awesome video - greatly appreciated! I'm considering a Jetta but have reliability concerns. Yes, the long warranty is great but buying a problem-free Civic or Corolla might make more sense. I will wait till the 2020 models are out and see the deal available - maybe I can score a bargain on the '19 models, perhaps on R or SE trim.

    • @macgto
      @macgto 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just make sure you get a '19, because I've heard for the '20 models, the 6/72 warranty is going away, replaced by a 4/50 warranty, with '20 models getting an additional 2 years free scheduled maintenance.

    • @Gheorghe99
      @Gheorghe99 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@macgto - yes, I read about that and it's a little concerning - cutting back on warranty could be a sign that VW expects trouble in the near future with this new Jetta model.

    • @macgto
      @macgto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Gheorghe99 Honestly, I don't think that's it. The 6/72 warranty was a PR move to gain back the public trust after the Dieselgate scandal. Prior to that, VW new car warranty was 3/36, at least it was in 2012 when I bought my GTI. So, the 4/50 I think is more of a compromise. If they went back to 3/36, the fallout would be disastrous.

    You talk about the Auto Stop/Start feature at around 6:00, that's implemented into most cars today. It's a way to save gas. I'm not sure why it was so hard to adjust to, given that a normal car you need to actually hit the stop button to turn the ignition off... Also, when the engine stops when you're in drive, again, that is a gas saving feature. In my '19 Jetta, I love it! I'll come to a stoplight, chill with the engine off, let off the brake and go like normal. Again, it's a feature to save gas. If it makes you that nervous, you can turn off the feature entirely when you get in and turn on the ignition. Just know that you'll get worse gas mileage that way... When you put it in park and the engine turns off, you shouldn't pay attention to that. You should know that it's like any other normal car, which would mean that you need to turn off the ignition when you get out of the car. It's definitely nothing to get nervous about.

      AndrewAdam21 I don’t like the feature bc I want less electronics involved with actual mechanical parts. Like when you put the car into gear. I hate electronic shifters. I want to feel the car go into gear with a linkage. Same with auto start stop. I hate the lag of most cars that do this then when you need to go quick is will have turned off the motor turned back on the motor and started going so quickly it feels unnatural. I don’t like that feature in really any car I’ve even been in. And most people who don’t simply want less electronics controlling mechanicals bc electronics cost more money to get fixed often

    • @solen1849
      @solen1849 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only difference is the starter , there isnt a lot of things that go wrong. The starter is bigger and made for more starts. The feature isnt to save gas, it's to cut down on emissions.

I'd cry if i went through some shit like that again. That being said if something goes wrong with the cars powertrain that keeps it from driving they will fix it obviously.
