I hope that someone saves that Audi A3 from the crusher, it just seems to good to scrap. That'd be an ideal project for Rob & Chris over on the Salvage Rebuilds UK channel.

Don't understand why a car would be scrapped even if the ignition switch WAS duff. Not that expensive or difficult to replace , surely? OK I dunno UK prices but here in S Africa I would have it back on the road quick quick!
@@johng9399 a lot of it is the mentality of the throw away society that exists here in the UK. So many people in this country throw things away just because they want something new. Insurance companies in the UK will write off a car over a few scratches or a couple of small dents.
Too old for salvage rebuilds I'd imagine!

Learnt something new today. I can't remember having a bolt to put on spec lift when I were on a salvage transporter. Guess either something happened since I was on them, know a lot of police forces didn't like you towing on the spec

That interlock on the auto Audi used to be a great source of amusement/annoyance one place I worked. We have several A3s on the pool, one was auto, just about every time one particular colleague had it we would get the panic phone call "I can't get the key out".....

Great videos Kev but it gets to me seeing some cars go for scrap having passed my test January and yet to still afford a car, being hands on and worked on many cars be it as i'm a car fanatic and would love a cheap car does your place sell any on or is there a contract to say there end of life cars not to be sold on etc, i've only just been back last time was when you had the fiesta st, wonder wot happend to that although ill catch up on your vids over the next coming days,, inetresting watch thou even if i get kinder jealous ,

Hi Kev, when you are reversing cars over the cab... dose it take time to get it right and the type of vehicle you are driving.. I know I would be scared of going over the edge.

Scrapping a car for the ignition barrel that otherwise runs well seems mad. I just had this problem for real (not left in gear 😆) on my 2006 car and of course replaced the barrel rather than scrapped it!
The Audi was not a scrapper and neither was the Golf for which an engine could have been found quite cheaply.
Deciding if something is scrap or not is subjective, depending on your own personal circumstances 👍
That poor old spectacle lift is in desperate need of some decent grease!!! And some of those ratchet straps look ready for chucking in the skip! Have a word with Trent management KT!

Quite a nice selection of cars on that load, well apart from the fake French rubbish, Audi far too good to scrap, bit of tlc to the paint work and it'll look great, it still has an MOT until October.

Not a fan of of audis. But that shape is far better looking thannits successor
Usually rotten sills or the 1.6HDi sends Xsara Picasso to the scrappy, it was Citroen best seller, Infact Citroen kept it in production for an extra 3 years due to how popular it was so instead of finishing production in 2007 when the C4 Picasso came out it was sold along side until 2010 so in production for a total of 10 years.
My Grampy had them done last Year on 08 Plate 1.6 HDI

Hi Kev, that guy with the Audi with the "so called" dodgy ignition has obviously got more money than sense! Back in the 18tonne curtain sider this week for Kuehne Nagel so I bought my tickets for the Saturday at Devon Truck Show, camped last year with the van but sadly she has gone now😔 the rust moths got her in the end and it was costing too much to repair for the MOT, however I now have a modern classic Rover 25 ixl which I can actually show rather than just driving her to shows. Got £4 saving using the discount code too😊
