We grew up only blocks away from Khilwat Palace now known as Chowmahalla Palace, Nizams headquarter. Grew up seeing the Palace minaret or clock tower from our house court yard, as a child wondered what that beautiful clock tower was part of? I only came to know about it many years later after moving to America that the clock tower was part of a palace, of one of the richest dynasty in the world. When asked my mother, why no one ever told us growing up? My mother replied Allah SWT judges you for your good deeds not wealth or fame. That humbled me. May Allah SWT rest Nizams soul and bless him and his family for giving us our very First English translation of the holy Quran.

Iam from Hyderabad. His Grandfather Mir Osman ali Khan who was the richest person in the world at that time did so much for his people by developing the state and people of Hyderabad especially Muslims are still benefitting from that. But on the contrary his grandson who lived mostly abroad ran few trusts for the poor people but there is no comparison between his grandfather and him. Also as their statemanship was abolished by Indian Govt more than 50 years ago so we do not expect from them anything now.
But we all love and respect them for all that they did for us.

Please don't talk blatantly. There are many writings describing the atrocities. Please refer to the word "razakar" if you not already. The movements to liberate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh are loosely connected to the rebellious movements done by people of Telangana who cannot tolerate the atrocities done by razakars. During those golden years of nawab, people of Telangana were starved to death while there nawab made a fortune. This is bitter truth.

🎉Ghiasuddin Akbar: This narration was briefly snatches if history, with a moral lesson for Muslims to remain attached to their faith and Umma. Indian politics may gloat upon annexation if Hyderabad state . Am glad people who hear this video clip will definitely appreciate the huge contributions for the Umma by Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur. Petty minds speak petty things , some IAS former officer write a derogatory book about the 7th Nizam. Such petty minds thrive upon controversies unfortunately.
Nizam of Hyd was a visonery who had set up a department of translation( Darut ul Marif) to translate into Urdu any book published in the world if this could benifit the community to acquire knowledge. My ancestors were closely connected with the Nizam , As a Hyderabadi I feel proud to hear praises about the Nizam of Hyd for his numerous contributions for the welfare of the people. Ok

Nawab and Nizam although used interchangeably, the fact is they were Nizams of Hyderabad, very rarely is the term Nawabs of Hyderabad used to refer to the royal family of Hyderabad.
Technically the word Nizam is an equivalent to a king, while the tern Nawab is equivalent to a governor. For clarity, The Nizam of Hyderabad had several Nawabs under him.

JazakAllahu Khyran, Sheikh. This reminds of the poetry of Abu al-Baqa al-Randi from Andalus. So profoundly appropriate. I paste key couplets from the longer version:

Irrespective of religion the rulers of the subcontinent, kept the riches to themselves, the riches they got from the natural resources of that region; and kept their subjects in general poverty.
Appreciate the contrast in the Middle East, where the rulers were benevolent enough to let the benefits of petrodollars reach each and every citizen.

Worldly powers and glories have no permanancy. Pompous lifestyle is nothing but personal narcissism. It is the higher ideals, the revolutionary outlook, the burning desires to achieve public welfare, to encourage an evolution in public morality and bring nations closer to each other through justice and peace, which gives someone a life beyond ages, rekindle his/her memories in hearts which may have no personal knowledge about the personality.

Brother Yasir, every Sunday you talk about some new things of the past. Why don't you begin a weekly series on the biographies of our salaf. Starting with the tab'ieen (as you have covered the biographies of sahaabah) and then it should go on till the 6 imams of kutub sittah 4 fuqahah ibn taymiyyah and so on.
Keep it short and sweet half an hour. Sufficient in shaa Allaah. It should motivate the youth. And yes please don't do it in a way to nail me. I am been tortured by my father and brothers can't bear your pricking comments.
Try this idea in shaa Allaah it would be very fruitful and youth will love learning about their salaf and following them.

13:14 this is a crucial aspect when studying the Raj. Indian princes (direct descendants of mughal era feudal kings) lived more luxurious lives than any European king (except perhaps King Leopold of Belgium) and yet no one cares.
40% of India's land and 25% of India's population was under them, yet except Hyderabad and Baroda, most princely states performed worse or equal to the areas under crown rule.
Bengal, Bombay and Madras even had elections for local government as early as the 20s.

The Nizam was a visionery , while Mukarram jah lived lavishly , sometimes beyond his means . One essential factor , why he was not sentimentally attached to the Deccan like his ancestors , reason the way his father's way ward attitude and his uncle towards their wives. Very unfortunate indeed . Nizam 7th had his roots to the soul of the Deccan .

I am from Hyderabad, with due respect the 7th nawab became the richest not because of the diamonds or some industrial revolution, he became rich because he and his nobles taxed the life out of ordinary citizens and rural pesantry and he personally owned like 1/3rd of all land in the kingdom which were called Sarf-e-khas lands, the nizam was wealthy, but the population was dirt poor. Thats why the people rebelled during Telangana armed struggle.
While he did do some good by opening new universities, hospitals etc however they were mostly for Hyderabad based elites and nobles. So glorifying him is like glorifying the Russian czars, which is absolute BS.

If people were "Dirt poor" how did, they pay taxes? Do you think a poor man can pay taxes? So, either they were really rich and pay taxes and due that 7th nizam became rich or they were really poor and did not pay any taxes. Either way you are lying. He was rich because he was a good businessman.

Nizam wasn't 'semi-independent', his sovereignty was recognized by the British. Hyderabad and the British monarch had a feudal arrangement, not colonial (like rest of India). And no, he wasn't the only one with an army, most princely states had army, and a lot of them like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jammu Kashmir had way more professional and better armed armies.

Aasamualaikum wrwb being a authentic hyderabadi and belongs to nawab family.. There have been a few alterations to your topic; for example, you neglected to describe what transpired at the UN when the Indian government attempted to assault Hyderabad and that, to your knowledge, negotiations for Nizam's 8th position were ongoing at the time.
