Welcome to Kribi, the number one beach destination in Cameroon. Kribi itself is still a very untouched beach location in Africa making it it truly special. There are no big resort, massive stores or anything like that. Kribi is all about the simple life, the beach and of course the delicious fish and seafood that comes in from the Atlantic Ocean every single morning.
Because the "fish economy" is such a big part of life in Kribi, we had to go and visit some of the local fish markets to experience the hustle and bustles. From there we also walked through a fishermen's village (under the rain of course) where they make that delicious and very famous smoked fish that you can see being sold by street vendors on the side of the road all around Kribi.
After seeing where all this delicious seafood comes from we also had to try some and let us tell you that the shrimps in particular are some of the best we have ever had.
While in Kribi, you cannot miss the famous Chutes de la Lobé or the Lobe Waterfalls. A beautiful sight and also the only waterfalls in the world which drops directly into the ocean.
Finally, our Airbnb named Maison de l'océan... What can we say apart from the fact that the location was great and the A/C was working well. Apart from that, it smelled a but weird, the kitchen was infested by all kinds of bugs, there was no toilet seats anywhere and some showed up in the middle of the night whispering my name while walking around the house. Yes, you read that right. Would I recommend it? Well, the location was great and the A/C worked well... LOLL

Sorry to take the wind out of Kribi's sails, but there's a lovely waterfall in the south coast of Bioko Island that drops straight into the ocean from a height of 80 to 100 feet. I sailed past it quite a few times from 1996 to 2003, when I was captain of an offshore supply ship based in Douala, Cameroon. We also worked support for the Ebome tanker terminal about 9 miles from Kribi and now and then we'd have a run ashore in Kribi. We couldn't take the ship in because the entrance was too shallow in those days, so we'd anchor offshore and take the small boat in. Great place.
Do you know the name of that fall? The difference might be salted water VS fresh. This is a fresh waterfall that drops into the ocean.
😂Yeah even us Cameroonians get Surprised by our season because some of them may delay at times this past rainy season was one of those. I enjoyed your tour in my country I only wish we had more to offer... because that is really how big we are in the heart.

It was such a fun trip.
Have they eaten the fruits of Cameroon, they are excellent especially during the dry season. There is also the avocado fruit and all kinds of sweetness. Caramelized peanuts, corasol, otherwise there are traditional dishes like Ndolé etc...
Otherwise it is much better to travel to Cameroon during the dry season.

To be honest, it was as simple as tables on the beach. There was no sign and anything so I actually do not know the name if it has one.

Do you realise there is beach with yellow, white and Black sand in Cameroon. We just preserve alot of those beautifull place bcs is sacre even in south of Cameroon there is yoyo beach which is still a virgin beach
