He was a kind one, the type who is in good terms with everybody. Not to mention, he has good looks and is the type who aces all the subjects and gets the awards for academics and athleticism. We talked over texts. He said that he wanted a girl bestfriend as he was from an All Boys school and I was also looking for a guy bestfriend. He genuinely listens to what I have to say, he'd calm me down when I'm mad or we'll just be mad together, we'd do questionnaires atleast four times a week. He was a semi-innocent church-going boy. We both share lots of interests together. However, we've never talked to each other before despite being in the same class. Just a few quick glances here and there. But when we get home, we'd text each other. I vividly remember there was a time when I confessed to him that I felt left out in groupchats as other people in the groupchats always act like I don't exist or was rude to me and I was sad, he told me to not leave the groupchat or he'll leave too and he told me that he would talk to the others about how they treated me. Needless to say, they treated me much much better after that. Fast forward, now, we don't talk much anymore but just received news that we'll be going to the same class next year. It's really hard to get to him now that he's pretty well known in our school. I have asked him before though, "have you ever, like, had a crush?" And he replied with; "I came from an all-boys school.."

Okay, this song in my recs is a sign i should finally put it out there, my sad crush story
So we met a month after I got into college, i had seen him around before and i used to think he was arrogant but once we started talking it turned out he was pretty charming, and we started hanging out a lot. I also found out that he was in a long distance relationship. We grew close so much so others started to think we were more than just friends and we used to joke and laugh about this. I was never this close to any guy before in my life, so this was pretty new to me. And was determined that I'd make this work cuz i was excited that I'll have a guy best friend. I just grew fond of this new feeling, fond of having him close all the time, never saw the warning signs that I was actually falling for him. Now that i think back to that time i realise that my feelings for him were so poorly hidden, i grew so affectionate, so physical with him, it was like in my mind i had started thinking that he was as mine without realising it. I started to get disappointed when it didn't feel like he was giving me much importance (in other words-" behaving boyfriendy) And subconsciously i started to try to make him like me. And then i did something that ended everything. I did something as simple as making his portrait, from a sleepy lazy pic he had sent me sometime back. I thought it'd be a surprise for him, that he'd definitely like it. I sent it to him and he was surprised all right. He said thanks and I thought i did good, but from that day onwards it started falling apart. We got busy with exams, he stopped texting me, i thought he was just busy, just like me so i didn't read too much into it. After exams i tried to talk to him, texted him so that we can catch up but he was distant. We tried to go back to the way we were but things just got too awkward and forced. One day we were out for a walk which he suggested for us to do. I became hopeful that maybe it'll get better now. But he told me he knew i liked him, that he had suspected it for sometime but was never sure, until i made it clear for him. And i just knew it was that damn sketch. I didn't deny it, i tried saving us by saying it's just temporary, that I'll get over it, but he didn't believe me, he said he did but i knew he didn't. I could see it in his eyes. And soon there was nothing. We stopped talking, we stopped texting. I see him around all the time, we have talked and laughed together a hundred times after that, but we keep each other at an arms distance. He's got a new girlfriend now, he looks even better and happier than he did back then, and i hv never seen anybody as talented as him. He's got his friends, I've got mine. I am okay with the fact that nothing's going to happen, that we would never be same again. I spend my days thinking I'm over him until i see him at the cafeteria, or just walking down the road and my heart aches again, just the way it did back then.
