  • Hi. Thanks for tuning into our new RC adventure videos. My family and I are just starting out with this channel, please let us know what you think.
    Losi Lasernut and the Losi LMT, both new Losi's. While my fleet of cars are mostly Traxxas, I really like these two NEW Losi's I bought. Check out the video to see my opinions on the Lasernuts first time out on the sand and the third time I've played with the LMT. Which is faster? Which is more fun? Which one jumps the best?

    I recently got back into the hobby after 20 years, I’m waiting on a Kraton exb I got super cheap Black Friday and other goodies. I’m thinking about getting the losi lasernut, I love how nice it sails through the air. I bet if the lasernut had some paddle tires it would take the truck, it’s just not hooking up all the way. Baddass video and driving guys

      @@RCNuts , funny you should ask, blew out the center differential on my first one, rather than wait for backordered parts. so I just bought another one. But I ran into issues trying to repair center differential. Small Allen bolts for diff cover have stripped. Not sure what to do. All parts are still back ordered. I haven't bothered to mess with it yet. Trying to find someone in the RC world may know a aftermarket option for new center differential for Laser Nut ?

  • @SebastianLong
    @SebastianLong 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The LMT is faster because of the 3150 kv motor. When on 3s that is 34,965 revolutions per minute. The Lasernut has a 1900 kv motor on 4s which is 28,120 revolutions per minute. The LMTs motor will overheat first though and the Lasernut couldn't care less.

  • @jermsman18
    @jermsman18 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My lasernut held up well the first 5 or so runs and then it started to break down. Gotta keep up on the maintenance. So far I have done upgraded steering, axels, and hubs/bearings.

    • @V8chump
      @V8chump 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea the real issues with these RCs are the gears inside them. 99% of the time differential gears don’t have an upgrade to go to unlike most other parts where third party companies make upgrades and I hear the lasernut always having problems with chewed up diffs

    I put the 14t pinion gear in with a fan on the motor using 4s 100c 5000mah. It rips it up lol. I did put 500k diff oil in a 3. Oh and upgraded the servo.

    • @RCNuts

      It's a good RC for smooth run ?

    • @RCNuts
      @RCNuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lmt is great for smooth runs, but unfortunately the lasernut will need to have the diffs re shimed from my experience and most people with them, it is extremely fun once there are shimed correctly and horizon hobby will sent diff sets with shims under warranty if you call them after buying it.

    Have you guys had any trouble with corrosion, rust, after running down on the dunes? Are you giving it the wd-40 treatment? I'm only asking because I'm nervous about it

    • @RCNuts
      @RCNuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I live at the dunes and play here 95% of the time. I always blow off my rcs with an air compressor when I'm done, I have a little rust here and there but not bad. Don't use WD-40 in the sand it just makes the sand stick to it, I use SC-1 it actually keeps the sand off. Also regular bearing changes due to running in the sand, I run Jim's bearings.

    Thanks to awesome moms! Liked and subbed.

    • @crazyCHRISTcraver
      @crazyCHRISTcraver 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lmt is quicker, not faster. The lmt reaches its top speed much sooner than the lasernut, especially in the sand, partly due to gearing and the other part tires. If you would have made the race twice as far, the lasernut would have won. Gearing it up may help but risks loosing torque, making it ultimately faster but even less quick, also increasing the temp. Maybe just paddle tires with a little smaller diameter would get you where you want to be?

    • @RCNuts
      @RCNuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats what I'm planning on doing is getting smaller paddles for it. Appreciate the awesome advice and the comments! What paddles would you suggest for it, once I get the rear diff sorted out. Have had problems with the rear diff grinding since new and already warranted a ring and pinion and bearings. Think I'm gonna see if they give me a co plate rear diff??? Thanks again man!

    • @crazyCHRISTcraver
      @crazyCHRISTcraver 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCNuts
      I’ve never run paddles, so I couldn’t tell you. As far as the rear diff goes, it may help to add a few shims. I don’t have a ‘nut yet but I’ve seen guys have success with that.

    • @RCNuts
      @RCNuts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I shimed it the last time I rebuilt it and it still grinds? I think it might be a bad housing? Thanks for the advice.

      Well, that sucks. They had problems and stopped production for awhile. Did you get one from the first run before they stopped production or one from the second release? I really want one but if they still haven’t fixed that, I dunno.

      The lasernut is having problems right out of the box with the rear diff, I have yet to really get to play with it. I'm going to be calling horizon hobby and get it warrantied though, then paddles will live on it! What paddles you think I should get for it.
