Guns back then also weren't accurate enough, that's why the battles were fought at close ranges in lines, and that's why hiding wasn't a thing and distinguishing sides was so important. As guns and communication get better, we see camouflage being developed, and by WW1 only the French use colourful uniforms among the major European powers.

So probably wearing glasses would help to improve their accuracy

Also the Prussian jägers were not up to a very high standard in this time period and were often beaten by french light infantry one to one even though they had rifles and the french had smoothbore muskets
