the way things are going we might be working 12 months a year 🤔hope you manage to get more fortnightly regular customers mate (much better than awkward one offs) 👍
True that ! £45 in and out Boom , Thanks for watching buddy Looking forward to your next update , can't wait to see what your up to next , hopefully you want be freezing to death in a little tent
Neighbours of customers can be the worst. Had a bloke start on me because I had the nerve to cut back the 6ft long brambles that were growing through his chain link fence and right over the shrubs I was supposed to be looking after. The way he went almost immediately into foul mouthed rage (in front of my missus too) was quite shocking. Many people seem to be right on the edge of inappropriate anger these days.
Just spent the a couple of weeks using the new Stihl SHA 140 leaf Vacuum. It's a bit clunky but good for getting leaves off gravel landscaping. I would normally do the same as you and blow onto the grass in that scenario. In my area it's been so wet I'm finding my lawnmower is sinking into the grass and leaving tyre marks and ruts. It's never easy is it! At least the last few days have been a bit drier.
Yes, I am trying to get a head of the game , Always worried the rains going to come back and mess things up. We had a wet start to the year and then wet again recently, I have plenty of repairs in my own house and decorating to do if the rain gets really bad , I can't be taking to much time off , got the bills to pay 🤣 Thanks so much for commenting 👍 Hope you have a great week Steve
Days, customers, neighbours and weather like that are real downers! I am glad to have retired, but still go to a few of my favourites to keep my hand in, but any of those types of demands or comments and I will be gone. I hope the hedge cutter isn't too badly damaged Steve. I hope you've had some better days since!
Hit a few more bits of metal today clearing a border , I will need to give the cutters a good sharpening 🙏 We have got plenty of work on, Looking forward to a nice break at Christmas 🎄 Thanks for commenting Glad to hear , you're still helping a few good people out! 🙏 Have a good week , I should be in the same garden all week , this week , I might make a little video of it 🤣 Have a good one Steve
@@StephenCheeseGardenServices Oh no, not more hidden metal, yes, sounds like a good sharpen is in order! I hope the rest of your week goes well and everything done by the Christmas break, you have deserved a good one!
Feel your pain work your best under paid moaned at by Karen’s then rained on too Only thing to top that is smashing the hedge cutter into metal 😩 Thanks for sharing just watched eating dinner 💚
Thanks buddy , I will check your video out tomorrow, It shouldn't be so bad at work tomorrow, I went in and worked hard today. Did all the ladder work and major cutting , Cleaning up tomorrow, I need to get myself a helper🤣 Need to crash before 11pm , Just got out of a nice hot bath 🛀💪🤣 Thanks for watching Mr Grumpy Steve
I can't see any , damage I will have a proper look one day , need to move the blades to have a proper look , they look a bit bowed or bent , still works that the main thing🤣 I appreciate you commenting Steve
The five minute job does exist. It's the one where the customer says, "it'll take a second". Once you learn to say no and carry on working, life becomes easier dealing with morons. Doing a hedge in a long driveway and the customer says can you move to let my friend in. NO. Why? Cos I'm working! One bad experience can ruin the day or two. Don't interact with these kind and chin up. The rain has been incessant. The water table is like 1" under the grass. It'll soon be summer. Maybe warmer rain, who knows.
Thanks for commenting, It is lifting my spirit's to know that people get what it is like to run a business, I appreciate you talking to me in the comments , Most days are good, Don't want to jinx it, but this week so far has been great and I am videoing bits of the whole week because I am in the same garden all week, This week 👌 Steve 🙏
Had a bad experience. Fortunately quite rare and first that I have had after starting this year on a new build with no partition from lawn goes straight onto neighbors drive . So was just cutting it as normal. In Hindsight would have done edge first but as I was going back and forward some grass trimmings we’re going on neighbors drive . Didn’t think anything of it as had still to do edges and tidy up after with brush / blower. Unfortunately neighbor came out and started to make an issue of it . Stating how messy it was and that it was on her car. Didn’t take much notice as had not started tidy up and said that it would be tidied. Unfortunately she basically stayed in garden complaining and being rude while I completed lawn Even after tidy up making a fuss over single blades of grass as it was wet and some stuck on drive . Am going to have to cancel customer as don’t want to put up with nasty individuals heckling while cutting grass. She was completely unreasonable and quite rude . Tbh she was looking for a reaction and I didn’t give her one as didn’t feel that I shoujd be apologetic in the circumstances. Basically been asked by customer to cut grass and it is normal for some loose trimmings and for tidy up to clean up as best as possible. Feel sorry for customer having neighbor like that and feel it would happen to any gardener. Maybe she has never had a garden before as she was quite irate.
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS! but the story in the your comment above is the very next video ,that I am editing, so make shore you watch it. I shouldn't spoil it really for you but the neighbour Lady came out had a right go at me the same as you, don't think she sore the camera , but was looking in the direction of it , It really pissed me off , I will try and get it out for Monday or before , it was filmed in august , I can not keep up with the editing , I edit my videos a lot Many thanks for sharing , Some people don't know what they are letting themselves in for starting a gardening business. 🤣
@ honestly have never experienced anything like it . Obviously couldn’t really do anything as didn’t want to upset customer but am considering telling him I wouldn’t want to work in such circumstances. Maybe ok if she asked nicely instead of going on a tirade of abuse and condescending remarks . Just had to bite lip and get in van and drive off after job while she was still on driveway for at least 1/2 hr complaining. 1 st bad experience I have had feel sorry for guy having a neighbor like that. Thing is will probably happen to anyone else doing job aswell as no way to avoid it. Maybe she has never had a garden before or something but does not excuse being rude.
I swear it is like they know.. they’ll always pick a day when you’re soaking and grubby or just snagged a trimmer on some daft piece of metal 😂 I know only too well.. it’s not just u mate, trust me, yes it’s incredibly annoying, it is people, the work is (usually) a joy.. maybe not a joy but ya know.. it is the people that will spoil your day, some are just absolutely wonderful and that makes the gardening a joy, even with the weather, and others are downright weird/creepy/rude/arrogant or just plain rude and that contributes to a bad atmosphere overall.. they will impart their negative energy on a place, incl a garden 😂 you can “feel” the energy sometimes eh?
