Gelatinous Pillion makes it alot easier because you can briefly fly to get away from enemies and you won't always get targeted. Also no contact damage from below.
Fun fact: it took me 3 and a half weeks to beat Betsy on for the worthy master mode. I had full vortex armour and a vortex beater. After I had beaten her my game crashed and reverted to the last save before I had beaten her. Life is pain.
If you play multiplayer, its ridiculously easy to just camp a portal while your buddy camps the other one and you can both turn each portal into a meat grinder, instantly killing whatever comes through

For some reason, whenever I'm grinding the post-plantera dungeon, enemies are super manageable. But, whenever I fight a paladin, every mob spawn in existence happens and makes fighting them unnecessarily difficult and annoying.
I have an arena for the old ones army and it’s literally so simple. All you gotta do is make 2 big platforms out of a random block and wall them off on the sides. Make it just the right size so the portals spawn in front of the walls. Then put actuators under the portals and wire them up to a button next to the crystal, so when the event starts, you just turn press the switch and boom everything falls to the lower layer of the arena. All you gotta do then is have traps in the lower layer to kill everything and you can also make a ceiling appear when you press the switch so the flying enemies get trapped and don’t kill the crystal. I myself did this in 1.3 without the roof on console and I duped a bunch of jungle temple traps to put down.
When minecraft players accidentally use suspicious eye to ”locate the ender portal” : *EXIT AND LEAVE NO FOOTSTEP SHALL BE LEFT BEHIND WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT THING*
We've been farming the Old One's Army a bunch in multiplayer, and it's honestly a blast there. Though once tier 3 rolls around you basically need to also get the armour corresponding to your staff if you want to actually beat Betsy.
"Old One's Army is hard!!!" Consider the following: use the sentries that are literally designed for the event. Don't have enough medals? Play the previous tier, or get far enough to be able to afford said sentries. Still can't beat it? Play summoner lmao.
Ice golem? Hard? you find difficulty in strange places, whats really hard is dodging skeletron primes run away hands moving at mach 166 at you from the opposite end of the world smacking you into a stunlock of his head as he was in the middle of his spinny attack when the hand slaps!
You're pretty much dead once you get that long ass chill debuff. For skeletron prime, just get ironskin and endurance; You will tank his slaps like it's nothing even on master mode. Edit: Also cobalt shield and hook for ez escape from the stunlock. Skeletron is really the only boss you have to worry about getting stunlocked because you still don't have the cobalt shield by then.

And the chill debuff becomes nothing more than a minor annoyance when your on uneven terrain, he can't shoot through walls, or hills for that matter, and he doesn't even have that much health, just make a small wall to hide behind every few feet and he's practically helpless, also there's the potion of warmth, I think that grants immunity to cold debuffs.
@@Solesteam Do you even know how easy it is to get a cobalt shield? Just open a few chests in the dungeon and bam, you have the damn thing. You can also use it to craft the ankh shield, which is extremely useful. Now, another thing I want to mention is not all classes have a weapon that can pierce through blocks/home at that point of the game and very few people would be willing to wait for that long ass chill debuff to go away. Do you even know how hard it is to circle that thing without getting hit with it's effin' 100+ damage lasers? Even the shield of Cthulhu won't do much good since the dash has a cooldown! Edit: Also, I tried using the warmth potion against him. It definitely helped, but it doesn't provide immunity because it only reduces cold *damage*
Ice golem is easy for me, I trap him on a cliff and use flying knife. I beat ice golem no problem on my first time play terraria which is 6 months ago on expert mode using these strategy. It's slow, but at least it works perfectly fine and safe
@@youwantmyname9208 I pelted him with arrows off the balcony of my snow house during my first playthrough, I haven't seen one outside of modded Terraria since. Don't ask what I was doing building houses all over the world back in version 1.3, I felt guilty when putting them in giant towers for the sake of easy access and still do, but at least now there's a happiness system so I know who I should put where.

I got 34 extra broken hero swords before I got a pair of Mothron wings, and as a collector of everything in the game, big oof. Also, the easiest way to beat the vortex pillar is to dig a hole 6 blocks deep, take a projectile-firing weapon like a gun, bow, mana, or some swords, and JUST SHOOT UPWARDS. You don’t even need to move.
I can't help but feel like describing every Calamity boss would be really difficult for the sole reason that 90% of them are either floating .gif files that vomit projectiles or are worms.
Anyone else doen the Old One's Army event but harvested all the Lizahrd traps and fire geysers and made a trap arena to stall the smaller enemies to give you breathing room during it so you're not fighting on 5 different fronts and having an aneurysm? And then hundreds of harpies and wyvers rock up on you and ruin everything because you built it in the sky? And then your nurse dies that has kept you from taking too many Ls? And then Betsy decides in you time of shambles to show up and one shot your crystal because.you didn't realize your OWN TRAPS that shoot spiky balls DAMAGE the crystal? Yeah, me too.

I like it as basically there’s both event bosses and mini bosses
Event bosses are enemies that are basically real bosses and mini bosses are basically just regular enemies that are like a boss but isn’t
Probably the only one that could be a mini boss but i still call an event boss in the dungeon guardian
For those struggling with the ooa: the sentry dropped from deerclops don't use emana, the wall of cursed flames( corrupted mimic drop) can make the ooa a 1 sided event
All these mini-bosses are cool and all, but they are all overshadowed by the *DUNGEON GUARDIAN*
When the minibosses are more of a pain than the actual bosses themselves
