It is so peculiar to me to hear things described as "vintage" that I recall from my childhood! I guess that's why I called myself "vintage lady" on TH-cam! Thrifting is so much more fun than just buying something---tho' that's fun too...
I love those things that you found!. That table runner was so beautiful. You got a great deal on that tree. I just retired mine that was over 20 years old. It was just looking sad. I did save it to repurpose the greenery for crafts!😊
I really enjoyed your video. I, too, really enjoy thrifting to stock my antique/vintage/craft booth. I Christmas shop and thrift all year and especially look for things to add to theme baskets I make for my church bazaar. So many Santa candy dishes, candles, snowman salt and pepper shakers, glass angels, etc. are brand new with the UPCs still attached! Coupled with stuff I find on clearance after Christmas like note pads, Christmas cards, napkins, paper plates, cooky cutters, dish towels, jewelry pin or earrings, socks, "Easter grass", etc. I easily fill a raffle basket. I often add my homemade bath salts, sugar scrubs, a crocheted dish cloth, earrings, etc. and it makes a nice raffle item or gift! I knit or crochet while a passenger or while watching videos; sometimes I use a scarf instead of "Easter grass" to fill out the bottom of a basket. Come fall, I stock up on gardening items when they are on clearance and use a large pot instead of a basket! For years I used a plastic tablecloth under a live tree; it prevented the old tree stand from leaving rust marks on the rug. Now with an artificial tree, it doesn't matter as much!
I love thrifting! I started doing it back in my late teens and early twenties out of necessity. Still doing it this many years later because I love it. ❤ Thanks for sharing!
I would have used that tablecloth as a tree skirt, too. Love how you used these in your decor without changing them. I really loved the salt and pepper shakers❤
All your finds were awesome, I love your Christmas tree it looked beautiful, what a bargain.I so agree with you that we should all try to recycle items from the thrift stores,we waste so much buying Christmas items.Lovely video, thank you for sharing.
Great ideas. I usually don't see any of those things at my stores. You're really are lucky. I have multiple stores to go to but... Maybe after the new year if the weather holds.
I love theifting. But we always have to watch closely. I have found new dollar tree stuff at the thrift store marked higher than i would pay at DT. Thank you for sharing your beautiful vintage finds with us.❤
You can find so many beautiful items at the thrift store off season as well. I have found that is the best time to look. After the season people are donating items they no longer want for the next year. The prices are much better too. I've noticed that before Christmas, for example, the prices for Christmas items are much higher than they are off season.I find tons of items during the spring and summer months too. This is a great tip for anyone just starting their thrifting adventures. I'm so grateful to paternal grandparents for taking me thrifting as a child. I've loved the thrill of the hunt and the excitement of finding amazing treasures. My mother and her best friend used to take my friend and I to yard/garage/rummage sales every summer as well for as long as I can remember. They would get the newspaper and map out all of the places to hit as well as the order in which they would stop. Thank goodness people don't need to take ads out in the paper anymore to advertise. I'm actually grateful that we didn't have very much money growing up. Not only did we value the important things instead of materialistic items it taught us that you don't have to spend a lot to get a lot. We never went without and it helped me as a single mother of 4 children as well. My children love to thrift and find great deals just as much as I do. Now I take my grandchildren treasure hunting with me as well. My grandson loves all things fishing and has even had antique rods and reels given to him by seller's who see his pure joy when finding things. My granddaughters love to find the things they have wanted at prices we can't say no to instead of paying a fortune at the store. Having said all of that I can't forget to mention that thrifting is also an artist's/crafters best weapon in my opinion. I find so many amazing things to craft with or make over for pennies on the dollar. It`s also good to just cruise the isles for inspiration. I honestly believe that thrifting and yard sales as a child really helped me to be able to look at something and think out of the box in regards to seeing all of the different things I could create with it. Obviously, I also highly recommend trying out thrifting if it's something you have t done before. Just give it a shot. I think you will be amazed. I know I'm addicted. This was a great video to inspire others to try thrifting for holiday decor. If your into Halloween or even just creating your own costumes the thrift store is the very best place to go as well if you are into unique decor/costumes. I've even found brand new "on trend" items if that's more your thing.
I love your finds. I absolutely love the vintage Christmas ornaments. My favorite was Mr. and Mrs Santa Claus. I have a set from my mother in law but mine has a bit more fancier details on them. I have 3 candle figures that look like lil kids or angels singing. The age is starting to show on the candles but I love them, Santa n the missus is still as beautiful as ever. I also put out a salt n pepper set I got way back in the early 70’s girls singing with red dresses and a red n white poke dot hat on. You can tell they are not from now 😅lol. You did a beautiful job with your finds.
I think the ornaments in the jars would be nice as they are. Maybe put some culy ribbon around the top or maybe a piece of silver garland wrapped around.
As for the icicles in your hair, if you have cats you might find the icicles in the litter box, if you know what I mean! We had to stop using them as I cannot get the cats to stop snacking on them. But we had the most festive litter box in town that year! Great finds and you use them all to beautiful effect. I love the mason jars with the old ornaments!
At our thrift store they had free days the Saturday before Christmas and the day after Christmas. They had such a glut of Christmas items donated. You picked out some cool things. The s and p's looked like "Lefton".
The cartons that hold the vintage bulbs are often beautiful as well. Happy for your beautiful tree find. Used trees are going for more than that on fb mkt place in my small town in Michigan. Really enjoyed this. TY
I just love all of your thrift choices. We have similar style. I found a second tree for my dining room this year, half off at RiteAid pharmacy, I only paid about $30 and decorated it with my stuffed black bear collection and cream snowballs, snow shoes, cream felt poinsettias, burlap star ornaments, strung pocorn and cranberries, too... I enjoy it so much. 😊 🌲 I have not tried gifting thrifted items yet, I'm not sure how well they'll be received.
Lovely decor and home. Loved it all, favorite was the runner. The napkin holder used for recipe book is a genius idea. Blessings And merry Christmas and happy new year.
Your tree skirt idea is exactly what I do! Just have red fabric that I bunch around the base of my tree. To make it look even more special, I border it with a child’s toy train with caboose, and rail cars that sit on a half Circle of track.❤
Great fines and great price. Here in California some of the thrift stores could be pretty pricey now. We can’t find deals like the ones you found at those prices.
The tree was a great find (though saying "the catch is" usually implies some unfortunate condition of your good fortune, not a great bonus). But the porcelain mugs were very nice. I'm always a little wary of thrift store dishes but those were in great shape. I kinda wonder if they used to be a set of four and someone got rid of them when one broke.
Here in the United States the thrifting has become trendy so the goodwill has taken advantage of it and sell given things to them for store prices. I been thrifting since the 80s. Can’t get a good price at the goodwill so I don’t go anymore. I stick with garage sells but loved your video!
Your thrift shops sure have a nicer variety than mine does!
Yes they do

So much more fun!! I agree 100%
I loved that you put old ornaments into jars to display them!
Works great
Wow… I love your collection of old vintage glass ornaments. They’re beautiful. I also loved the set of salt and pepper shakers.

Great finds and great ideas. Your mugs are reminiscent of the "Spode" Christmas tree pattern--so charming. Your home looks very cozy.

Don’t blame you 😊
Great fines and great price. Here in California some of the thrift stores could be pretty pricey now. We can’t find deals like the ones you found at those prices.
Im lucky here
I would love to go thrifting with you! 🥰
Never have too many thrifting friends xo
The tree was a great find (though saying "the catch is" usually implies some unfortunate condition of your good fortune, not a great bonus). But the porcelain mugs were very nice. I'm always a little wary of thrift store dishes but those were in great shape. I kinda wonder if they used to be a set of four and someone got rid of them when one broke.

Gorgeous ❤
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed
I also found a beautiful 5foot tree in a box at the thrift store and it cost me 20$. I buy most of my stuff at the thrift store
Love this!!
I love it all. But I would be afraid to use those ornaments. I have a tendency to drop things.
i try and be very careful

Yes some areas have gotten bad!
Ohhhhh, how I simply adore icicles on a Christmas tree. Brings back wonderful memories of past Christmases. Everything looks fantastic!
I love them!
