My mother in law would assign a wrapping paper each, but she wouldn’t label the presents. You had to find the square of paper in the toe of your stocking.
Just wanted to share a blessed i received. One Christmas , as self employed, I was working so many hours serving my clients that literally it was two days before Christmas and i was at the mall just starting my Christmas shopping. I came out of a store with gifts . And a person asked me if their church could help me with wrapping my gifts. I was so stressed that I was just starting my shopping, I had not even thought about wrapping. I was so moved, i actually started crying. Their church had a wrapping station set up in the mall. No charge, but you could donate. I will always remember how much that touched me. I stood there and watched the youth wrapping up my presents and just cried. If I had a thousand bucks to give them, I would have. Of course I made a generous donation. But i couldn't bless them as much as they they blessed me. ❤
I do that, too. Whoever comes for Christmas gets an ornament with their name and year. They don’t keep them, but put them on my tree. Then in the next years, it’s fun to hunt for all your ornaments and remember the stories about them that we remember. My son has 30 on there, and he’s still excited to look for all of them every year.
Thanks for all the hacks. That snow making machine was used by my niece and nephew. Their father ,my brother, was very sick with liver disease. One of his last wishes was to see snow. They turned on the machine outside his bedroom window. He loved it. A rare sight in southern Virginia
Once my children grew & left the house, I quickly downsized to a smaller Christmas tree. I must have waited a bit TOO long to find a decorative tree skirt because I couldn’t find ANYTHING🤦🏻♀️ I happened to be in the sewing/crafts aisle and VOILA’......I saw my solution 🤩 Christmas patterned FABRIC!! Just bought a yard that caught my eye (which was very inexpensive) & draped it around the base, being careful to tuck over the raw edges the best I could - SO pretty!🎄! 👍
We use milk crates to lift trees. Just rapid tie them down, cover with a skirt, blanket or fabric. I think we've been doing this for 30 years. Such an easy way to gain more space and make your tree taller.
I use green pipe cleaners instead of hooks, and I cut them into fours. They're secure, and they bring the ornaments up so there's more room between them, and they don't swing around.
I’m crying for this sweet mom!!! Thank you Secret Santa, Nate and the EIN Team!! Blessings to you all!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Thank you for demonstrating compassion and concern for the well being of others!
The squirt bottle for decorating cookies is good for little hands, but also for some of us whose older hands are a little stiff. Buying cookie dough is also great for making the fun part (decorating) a lot easier.
I have always placed our Christmas trees (we do several every year) on top of tables! I promise you, it's an absolute game-changer!! (We always buy REAL trees, and they're quite large - over 12' tall. The tables I use are usually end tables, around 18" high.) Makes it SO much easier to place gifts under - And it just LOOKS prettier! Cover the table with a beautiful faux fur/cable knit/sherpa/fuzzy blanket and let it puddle onto the floor... GORGEOUS! ❤💚
One of my favorite hacks is to use laundry baskets to hold presents my kids have just opened. We used to get these massive gift bags, and they would break right away! Laundry baskets have been such a great time saver when it comes to clean up.
@@hollymiranda0826actually there MANY other youtubers who fold gifts without tape etc.. just search them out in any search engine. Its not like she made this up lol.
Love these ideas. I haven't wrapped a gift for my 2 children since 2018, we use heavy duty canvas laundry bags that look like Santa's bag. Using their favorite color, I drew their names and decorated each. It's great because the size helps with limiting the amount of gifts and the only clean up, is the packaging the items came in. The only down side is as they get older (not wanting toys anymore), the bag looks flatter compared to the younger sibling because a lot of what they want are usually smaller more expensive items.
So many great ideas! I've always done wrapping paper for each family member. It is great. Instead of ornament anchors, I always just bend the hook to be tight on the tree branch. I've been doing it for years and it works really well! I can't wait to try some of these ideas!
I used 6 of the white mini trees to make a giant snowflake! Lights and decorations on it and a sparkling piece that can stay up after Christmas with my snowman decor ❤!
I love the ornament anchor idea, but I will have to add them a few at a time. I put up three trees, the largest has almost 200 angels on it! My Christmas tree skirt is actually a circular shawl my MIL crocheted for me in the 60s to wear to a formal dance. It is huge! I never wore it as a shawl, but is an awesome Christmas tree skirt. It is extra special now since we lost her in 2021.
My mom would wrap all our gifts in the same paper with bows--but the bows were our birthstone colors- purple=Feb, blue=Sept...and that's how she knew which gift was for who. My sister and I ALWAYS assign paper to each child or family member. Its soo much fun to shop for wrapping paper
A few years ago I saw that Walgreens still sells The Clapper and I had a light bulb moment. I use this for both of my trees and just have to clap twice whenever I want them on or off! 🎄
It’s so funny. Those of us that are 60s have been doing a lot of these talks forever. But I’m always certain that there are new people especially the younger group that don’t know these hacks.
Our main tree (in the living room) is 12 feet tall so no need to raise it. But I always put up a smaller 6 foot tree in the kitchen with all of my angel ornaments. I use the plastic bin that stores the angel ornaments to raise the tree. Just cover with a Christmas plaid fabric and then lay the tree skirt over that. It’s one less box to stash back in the garage during the Christmas season.
Using different wrapping paper for different family members is a good idea, BUT, BUT, BUT...there's something really elegant and stunning about seeing tons of presents under the tree all in the same paper that matches the rest of your holiday decor.
You could do coordinated colors/patterns in your theme? For instance: Candy cane red and white stripes; a green buffalo plaid; a plain red; a plain green; even a plain white. Sometimes you can buy sets of paper that all coordinate with one another even. So each person could still have an individual color, but all together they still coordinate and go with your theme. :)
I so loved all of your ideas as always. I’m now so excited for the holidays. Plus, I’m an RN working in a hospital. Our unit hardly ever had holiday cheer. I’d like to make a few of those stars made from the mini trees and used command hooks to fasten them to the walls.
I wanted the kids to do the kraft paper for grandparents. I had the kids put their hands in paper plates with paint and do hand prints all over. Then we did the feet! It was so much fun for the kids, they still remember it and grandparents loved it!
I’ve done the different wrapping paper per each person for over 30 years. It was easy for when my kids and now my grandkids were younger because they didn’t have to know how to read the tag. My grown kids use this idea also. A few years ago I ordered white paper bags to make the snowflakes and stars. You can order bags in practically every color. So you could make flowers and stars for birthday decorations. Any occasion really. Thank you so much for all the great ideas
Two years ago was the year to clean up the decades of left over wrapping paper ends from everyone having a distinct one every year. It took much longer. Since the youngest was a teenager and I was exhausted, I put name tags on nothing. We have always taken turns, guessing what the gift is before opening. Most gifts were obvious as to whom the recipient should be (but I had veto rights) - it was a hit with much laughter. I, too, raise my tree up on something but I differ in that I use a table cloth as the tree skirt. It drapes beautifully and already works in the room.
Give me all the lights!! Ornament anchors?!?!?!? I need them! Love the garland around your tv 😂 Love those wrapping clips! DT is great for bags and boxes. Love all of these!
My tip for kids decorating cookies and cupcakes... I literally cover the entire table with plastic wrap. Spritz it with a little water so the wrap sticks and then you just roll it up and toss it in the trash.
I have 7 Thuga green giant trees in pots and will plant just before spring. They are about 4 ft tall so perfect size for outdoor decoration. I'm putting food for birds on them. Berries, suet, pine cones peanut butter and bird seed. ❤ battery operated lights
Kallie TFS all these ideas! I did the DT houses all brown. And trimmed in white puffy paint to look like a gingerbread house. Also totally agree the DT wrapping paper is not my favorite. I always like to use the Hallmark paper. I definitely would love to make that white star with the tree! ❤
Our kids and grandkids are grown, so I now only glossy white guft wrap. I have a good assortment of bows and ribbon, and its always appropriate for any occasion. I buy it from a floral supply wholesaler 👍
Love these ideas! Need to watch it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything! Love the paper bag stars/snowflakes! I just discovered those last year! I really love them! Thanks for sharing all your very cute & practical ideas! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing these awesome tips. I was feeling a little 'humbuggie' about Christmas so far this year and your ideas have given me the inspiration to start planning.
We have a tradition of doing the wrapper paper per kid and one more for parent/everybody gifts. They each get a small gift wrapped in their stocking so they know which paper is theirs, then we take turns wearing a Santa hat and whoever is wearing said hat distributes one present to each person. Slows down the whole process and makes them appreciate each gift a little more before ripping into the next one and just makes Christmas feel bigger over all lol (I just have to make sure there's at least an even number of presents spread among the kiddos and enough "everybody" presents so they have something to hand to mom and dad, they don't like it when they run out of stuff to give us too, cuties 💕). I also save nice boxes, tissue paper, and have nice homemade reusable tags and ribbon. That way every year the most I'm spending in wrapping might be replacing just the paper if I ran out the year before so more of my Christmas budget can go to their presents instead of throw aways. It works out pretty well for us.
I’ve been wrapping my grandkids Christmas gifts in one print for each child. They love finding each of their own gifts. Much easier and gifts don’t get mixed up. Happy holidays everyone 🎄
Ornament anchors - you don't have a cat do you, Kallie? My cat would bring the tree down trying to pull the ornament off the branch. But it's a nice idea....hahahahaha
We have a family tradition. My husband and myself go to our sons for Christmas week. We have Christmas on Christmas eve. Christmas day we bake!!! Pap is in charge of sugar cookies!!! My daughter in law buys the premade dough too. She also covers the table with a plastic table cloth from Dollar tree. When we are done, we fold it up & throw it away. Even though they are 11, 10 & 8, theres frosting every where & Nana might be alittle messy too 😊
I saw the cutest little ( DollarTree) 1 ft. faux tree decorated for Thanksgiving. Someone had glued individual ( cut from a garland or pic ?) colorful Fall leaves on the tips of several branches. Nestled on top of each leaf was a smallplastic, orange pumpkin. They finished off the tree top with 2 ( gold cord or ribbon) sandwiched on either side of the tree top between 2 leaves.
You are an absolute GENIUS. I'm going to share your video with as many people as I can. I'm part of the frugal community: "ButFirst,Coffee has a few Christmas hacks that are neat, sweet, and petite. Many in the frugal community say that they save the paper that comes with packaging throughout the year and use that as Christmas wrapping paper. ButFirst,Coffee tapes it to the floor and lets her toddler scribble all over it, and then she uses that for wrapping gifts. She says the grandparents love it." (I'm omitting your link here but it'll be shared.
Great video! My favorite was peeling the stickers off new items. I spend so much time soaking those in rubbing alcohol or some sort of oil and scrubbing off with paper towels. Excited to try it!
I find that oil works, too. Vegetable, olive, whatever you have. Sometimes you need to use a scrubby, but it does come off without much trouble. The hairdryer trick would help to get it started for that, too. Smart idea!
Wow, you put too much effort on this video! You just don't have a ton of great ideas but you really spend time and effort to make them. Thanks. You are amazing!
I used two of the mini trees to make a swag for my mailbox. Secure the two ends together, fan them out, add some floral picks and a bow, and you have a mailbox swag.
Years ago I worked at a pop up christmas store in the mall and I had to decorate 25 trees and one of the ways to really make your tree bright and beautiful is when you are putting on your lights start at the inside of the tree (where the pole or trunk is) and that way illuminates your tree from the inside out.
Last year we had SO MUCH family here for the holidays. I bought inexpensive tissue paper and assigned each person a different color. I made a master list for myself, but otherwise labeled nothing. I managed to find 12 colors for 12 people. It was SO helpful!!! (Especially since I HATE, LOATHE, and DESPISE wrapping gifts.)
My book club holiday party fell to me several years ago. For adult table decor I had a couple rolls of narrow metallic gold and silver ribbon and just cut them to different lengths. Some I curled with scissors some just the natural softer curls from being wound up. Silver candles and dollar tree small gold tree ornament balls. All went on a white tablecloth. Frankly, it made the food and wine, which provided the color, look great.
Thank you for so many great ideas! I love watching your videos. Gives me an excuse to relax a bit and just enjoy them! Love the cookie decorating….memories in the making❤️💚
Kallie!! when the thumbnail is outlined in red it looks like the red play through bar and I think I have already watched because of it 😩 its subtle but I know I have missed some for this reason... I hope this is a helpful comment, love your content!
Thank you Kallie for sharing your beautiful family Christmas shots/videos with us. Your baby girl is gorgeous and you boys both look like their dad. That was a cute baby pic of him in the video. You must be a very proud mommy.👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I used to do reindeer names for my kids. But I love the wrapping paper hack! Also, all your other hacks! Definitely, doing the ribbon . Thank you for so many new tips!!
Thanks for all the great idea's, not only from this video but all your other videos. I'm 65+ and you continue to teach this old dog new tricks and idea's. Keep your motivational spirit going.
My hack, I bought felt Santa bags at Michael’s, then let my grandkids pick their favorite, then embroidered their names on them. No tags or bows needed, just slip their wrapped gifts into their bags. On Christmas morning they all know run to their bags and then sit down in a row and take turn opening gifts. When it’s time to go home they have a bag to carry their gifts home, and return to me later.
Wow, just 2 minutes in and already learning a lot! Love the thought of using ornament hooks for garland! Why didn't I think or that? I recommend putting a nail/screw/ hook somewhere to anchor the tree to a wall and/or ceiling. Especially if you raise the tree. Cats, kids, tipsy folks, wobbly folks, and trying to put more water in reservoir can all lead to disaster. Heavy duty fishing line is nearly invisible for this. Wish I kept my old MOP and GLO.
Those were some GREAT HACKS!! Thank you for sharing. Also, I just had to rewatch your ADORABLE baby girl open the front door during one of your wreath hacks! Omg! She is an absolute Bubs!!❤️❤️❤️ thanks for sharing her too! lol!😍
Thank you for the suggestion of one print of wrapping paper for each family member! I have heard it before but forget too and then I play the game of whose gift is this! The orange garland sounds wonderful but the price of oranges is high! I have always thought it was called a tree skirt and not a collar!
Each year we pick a "color theme" from a bowl filled with various options and our decor and everything else revolves around that, last year was Mad Plaid, and this year it is Traditions, with green, red, charcoal and the metallic is silver. Each person will get assigned a paper that has some of the various colors and even "the house" gets gifts and it's own wrap, because who really wants a new remote for Xmas, only the house! LOL... I love the idea of people learning which paper is theirs by sticking a piece in the toe of their stocking... That's a fab idea!
•I gotta move near an IKEA… •We designate a box for instructions and warranty cards: all those little papers and booklets that come with toys and electronics. THEN when we are all done and there is paper and chaos everywhere; at least we know where the instructions for Papa’s drone or Jax’s dinosaur are…😊 we haven’t lost anything “important” yet! •10:06 I’m doing this at Thanksgiving this year with the kiddos!! It’ll keep ‘em busy and happy AND we’ll end up with a useable creation thats like two gifts in one!! G’parents LOVE it! •NOW!! I know why I can’t find those little white (or green!) trees from DT!!! What a cute project!!! Thanks so much!!!
Absolutely Loved these ideas and can't wait to get working on some. Thank you, really appreciate your content and all that you do. Blessings to you and your family!
Even better than the holiday bag, open all the toys and stuff before. Test them all. Add the batteries, set up whatever needs to be set up, recycle/trash the store packaging and wrap them in regular gift boxes and wrap.
Your video is the BEST compilation of Christmas tips I have seen. Thank you for taking the time and putting it together for us. There are so many tips I want to do this Christmas. I’m definitely doing the Christmas stars from the paper bags!💜🎄
This was like THE BEST Video. Loved most of your hacks and if not for me, for others I know. Really loved how original the ideas were, all brand new. Thanxs for all the great ideas. I think this is my favorite video from you. Happy Holidays.
After decorating my live tree, I used to stuff it with dried babies breath. I would buy it in huge bunches at the farmer's market in the fall. It was beautiful.
My mother in law would assign a wrapping paper each, but she wouldn’t label the presents. You had to find the square of paper in the toe of your stocking.
That’s really cool! I love that idea.
That is so cute!
How fun
I do the same, but since I have only 2 kids and 1 of each gender, it's easy for them to figure out which is for my daughter vs. son.
I've done this too, I love it

I’ve been wrapping my grandkids Christmas gifts in one print for each child. They love finding each of their own gifts. Much easier and gifts don’t get mixed up. Happy holidays everyone 🎄
Ornament anchors - you don't have a cat do you, Kallie? My cat would bring the tree down trying to pull the ornament off the branch. But it's a nice idea....hahahahaha
Speaking of cats, I have 2 new ones this year and there is no way one of them won’t be climbing a tree. Any ideas for alternatives?

We have a family tradition. My husband and myself go to our sons for Christmas week. We have Christmas on Christmas eve. Christmas day we bake!!! Pap is in charge of sugar cookies!!! My daughter in law buys the premade dough too. She also covers the table with a plastic table cloth from Dollar tree. When we are done, we fold it up & throw it away. Even though they are 11, 10 & 8, theres frosting every where & Nana might be alittle messy too 😊
For a tree skirt, i use a round Christmas table cloth. Just make a cut to the center to allow you to wrap around the tree.
Made a paper star while watching! I LOVE it. Brought out my inner kindergarten self 🤣 Amazing tips and ideas!!
You always give us so many ideas for things that we might not think about, thanks so much.
Kallie where were you when I was a new mom ❤😂I would have loved these ideas 40 years ago !!!! I love your Christmas videos ! Glenda
I do the same thing with my faux Christmas tree! Balance it on a milk cart under coordinating fabric.
Smart idea!
Yes, coconut oil works better than vegetable oil but all oils work. Goo Gone stinks too bad but it also works
@@angelad.redcay738 I agree; Goo Gone is sickening and its odor gives me a headache.
Wow, you put too much effort on this video! You just don't have a ton of great ideas but you really spend time and effort to make them. Thanks. You are amazing!
Those paper stars are incredible!
Great ideas to lift trees off the FLOOR!
This was an awesome video I took so many notes and made a list of the things I want to pick up at the dollar store! 🙏🏽 thank you 🎄HAPPY HOLIDAYS🎅
I get so sick of creators using the term "hacks" when they are no such thing. But these, these are real hacks and I learned so much. Thank you!
"Hot glue- saving lives everywhere!" 😂
Beautiful and creative hack ideas! Thank you!
Kallie!! when the thumbnail is outlined in red it looks like the red play through bar and I think I have already watched because of it 😩 its subtle but I know I have missed some for this reason...
3:19 dollar tree sells some great seasonal picks just a tip lol
Thank you! Loved every tip! My only detail I do, I have multiple trees and I put red roses and red glitter pointsetta into the tree. Just adds pop. ❤
I bet those are beautiful.💖
Thanks for all the great idea's, not only from this video but all your other videos. I'm 65+ and you continue to teach this old dog new tricks and idea's. Keep your motivational spirit going.
My hack, I bought felt Santa bags at Michael’s, then let my grandkids pick their favorite, then embroidered their names on them. No tags or bows needed, just slip their wrapped gifts into their bags. On Christmas morning they all know run to their bags and then sit down in a row and take turn opening gifts. When it’s time to go home they have a bag to carry their gifts home, and return to me later.
The blowdryer to get labels off!!! THANK YOU so much!
Love the white star, may have to do that for my front door. Thank you!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you so much for all your clever ideas! They will definitely help everyone with holiday decorating! ❤
Those were some GREAT HACKS!! Thank you for sharing. Also, I just had to rewatch your ADORABLE baby girl open the front door during one of your wreath hacks! Omg! She is an absolute Bubs!!❤️❤️❤️ thanks for sharing her too! lol!😍
I like the wreath inside a wreath table decor. Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestion of one print of wrapping paper for each family member! I have heard it before but forget too and then I play the game of whose gift is this! The orange garland sounds wonderful but the price of oranges is high! I have always thought it was called a tree skirt and not a collar!
Tree skirt when it's fabric and floppy and Tree collar when it is stiff and upright.
•I gotta move near an IKEA…
•We designate a box for instructions and warranty cards: all those little papers and booklets that come with toys and electronics.
Love the glitter mop n glo bulbs❤
Absolutely Loved these ideas and can't wait to get working on some. Thank you, really appreciate your content and all that you do. Blessings to you and your family!
Love the bag stars! Going to make these with my grandsons.
Remember NO extry CHEAP cords for all those lights.>>>PREVENT HOUSE FIRES!
You can have all of our snow when we get it!! Here in ND we get lots!!
Can you burn the candles that are wrapped with tissue paper?
This was like THE BEST Video. Loved most of your hacks and if not for me, for others I know. Really loved how original the ideas were, all brand new. Thanxs for all the great ideas. I think this is my favorite video from you. Happy Holidays.
After decorating my live tree, I used to stuff it with dried babies breath. I would buy it in huge bunches at the farmer's market in the fall. It was beautiful.
EXCELLENT IDEAS...every single one!!! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
I look forward to this video from you each year. I literally have been taking notes! 😂 Thank you!!
