JCB, always looking for a better way.
Loved the great clod of mud that fell into the over site & was covered in concrete, 70s construction at its finest
I worked for a JCB dealership in the early 90's until the early 2000's and these were still around. The later 525 and 530 B series were also a great machine, both really easy to service and maintain. No ad blue or DPF problems either!!!
My favourite telehandler of all im planning on building a Rc version and mad that both this and the 3c share the same front (3c) and rear on this I still see these older machines on small farmes and wasn't this the first telehandler made
How JCB got his start was, the tractor had already been invented
so he invented the backhoe tractor putting a shovel on the front and a digger bucket on the back. To this very day, more backhoes are built and sold all around the world by all the companies in the world what build construction equipment. Thank You Mr JBC.
!
He actually started by making farm trailers from WW2 surplus parts.
He attended a trade show, spotted a couple of companies selling backhoe attachments for tractors and recognised the advantage of a machine that had both a loading shovel and backhoe built in rather than added on.
Today, JCB has licencing deals with VOLVO. With VOLVO selling the JCB shid steer under their branding with JCB selling VOLVO's mini backhoe range.
I live 10 minutes from JCB World HQ, my dad worked there for 20 years and occasionally he'd sneak me into work with him on a weekend, I remember seeing these and all sorts of diggers being made and rolling off the production line, used to fascinate me as a kid. I also had a set of red JCB overalls as a kid that I loved.
Great document 😊
I think the site they're filming on is the Stockbrook area redevelopment in Derby. Which would make sense as the JCB factory is just up the road.
Surprising what difference a pallet makes🙄
Haha yeah aye 😂
JCB didn't invent the telehandler, but did make it a successful product due to their market position.
Teleskoplastare måste vara bland dom bästa maskiner som finns efter den midjestyrda grävlastaren…
Just to ask.... Was the Liner Giraffe not about on sites before the 520 ?
Yes, the Liner Giraffe was launched in 1971, 6 years before the JCB.
It had the advantage of 4WD and 4WS.
Liner didn't have the budget for a large advertising campaign otherwise JCB may never have been the success it became.
@@ramblingman8992 The Giraffe was a good machine, we used it for competitive assessment when we were developing the 520. I did the relatively rudimentary NVH development on the 520. Next time you run the video, pause it when you see the design office scene, and count the Ferrari F1 cars scattered about the office from their collection. They were just part of the office furniture to us.
THE man on the manitou forklift should have been sacked driving like that.
The tele-handler has come a long way since its inception. Basically the same machine but now with increased versatility, has made it the mainstay of moving loads over short distances, over uneven and often soft ground. But I think Merlo now have the upper hand, both with load capability, reach and rotating add-ons.
Would say Magni over Merlo haved the upper hand now....
If there was a prize for terrible forklift drivers he would win.
Back then it was different lol but was showing it needed the telehandler and any decent drive would do it easy with the rough terrain Counterbalance type
Do JCB still refuse to pay their suppliers and deliberately put them out of business?
Very crooked company indeed.
