Our Korean vets are the most forgotten of all.

I don’t think it is or was a deliberate act by people, I just think Korea coming so soon after the end of WWII that a collective war weary world wanted to blank it out, and I believe that’s why the communists chose tat time to try what they did, thinking that the world and in particular the USA and Great Britain were not going to want another war, and to be honest they didn’t, and Great Britain was in no shape to mount a massive campaign, and could only sent the few regiments it did, but with the support of many nations the communists got a nasty shock a war, when they thought they were going to get a walk.

@@allandavis8201 As a Vietnam veteran I have seen this up close, and as bad as it was for us, it was worse (for whatever reason) for Korean vets. We also had much better equipment, better support, better food, and we didn't endure freezing weather conditions.

My father was in the Engineers in the Philippines so he was in one of the first batches of troops sent over. He says he got rid of his .30 carbine and got a .45 because he could drop them easier. That's close combat.

No wonder we call them "The greatest generation". Imagine the today's generation pulling rocks out of the cold river for 2 days just to get a howitzer and a truck over it.. And all that without internet connection, Instagram and Facebook... Oh the horror, the horror.....

UN war? The South Koreans in retreat carried no guns? What's that all about? China fought a very different war like out of the ancient history books?

Was Vietnam all just a show of strength? Testing equipment, training, and tactics under fire? Sure as hell doesn't seem like we tried to hold any ground and win the damn thing.
