      And we would like to thank the Korean soldiers who fought so valiantly with our force in South Vietnam.

    My late uncle was a tanker in Korea. He wouldn't talk about his experiences with anybody but his brother, my dad. He passed on, with his sons having no idea what he experienced.

    my dad was there, but wouldnt talk to me as a kid about it, but as for winters, he did speak of his best fried waking up, & having to break ice in foxhole to get his feet lose to stand up.my mom had said he told her he had been captured & tortured, but he never said a word to me, I was 15 when he passed away, 38 years ago. I know why he joined, he was a farm kid, forced to work fields sun up to sun down, he joined to get away from farm life & see the world.

      Thank you for sharing - and it's all too sad, isn't it? And it seems he did not get of of this feeling of becoming forced to do things he did not like very much or appreciate for most of his entire life? What's true about America?

    I wonder. How many British/US conscripts actually knew the real reason why Britain/USA had to get involved apart from being told 'like it or not. You're going to fight for freedom, democracy queen and country?'

      99.9% chance they did not know. The acronym November Whiskey Oscar hadn't become the rulers' common reference yet. We have the (master propagandists) rulers to thank for EVERY conflict. "If my sons did not want war, there would be none." - Gutle Schnapper Rothschild. "World events do not occur by accident. They are made to happen, whether it is to do with national issues, or commerce; and those who hold the purse strings stage and manage most of them." - Denis Healey, former U.K. Secretary of State for Defense. "By Deception We Make War" - Mossad. "The urge to save the world is very often a disguised urge to rule." - H.L. Mencken. "Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." - Voltaire

    A THIRD Battle star for Korea! Since the US didn't win the Korean War, I guess that is like a third participation trophy for US troops. "You lost the war, but you get an "A" for effort!" Now I know where schools got the idea for participation trophies.

    • @jamesorth6460
      @jamesorth6460 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What do mean the U.S lost the Korean war, South Korea is still a nation, what are you some Chi-Com

    • @thunderchief7
      @thunderchief7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamesorth6460 Actually, the Korean War has never ended. We have been operating under a temporary armistice. North Korea and the US have been at war for almost 75 years. Perhaps you consider a 75 year military stalemate between the US and a little pissant country a victory. I sure don't.
