I know I'm not personally going to bag the Pixel, but I'm really excited for the new blend of Electron! I miss that super gummy Electron soft, so I'm excited it'll be back to form
Looks like another winner from MVP. I go to MVP for thinner feeling rims, but a deeper rim could be better for the actual approach shots. I'm stoked to try one. Thanks for the review TK
Exactly, I love deeper putters for putting and short approaches. Their line up of lower profile “driving putters” is already top tier, the Pixel will shine for most on the putting green.
Well i’m currently putting with P2s, so i think these will feel just fine for me as far as the deep rim goes. I may have to slightly adjust the hyzer angle i use for my spin putts but i cannot wait to get the pixel. Solid review, keep it up!
Hey, I also putt with an old beat up Ion! Thanks for the review! Good Stuff! Last year I adopted the Spin to putt from 40+ ft and it really helped hold putting lines at distance. How do you feel the Pixel fits between the Ion/Anode and the Spin? How much deeper is the rim feel than the Ion?
Flight wise fresh out of the box, it’s a beat up electron ion imo. Hand feel it feels very similar to the ion/anode/spin core, with a smidge higher shoulder to increase its loft/glide.
@@TKDiscGolf Sound like I'll need to test one out then, thank you ;) Although I'm a neutron/proton guy for my putters (I know, I'm sorry too). Heard anything about plastics other than electron?
I've never seen any of your content before, but I'll be coming back for more. Pure content, no fluff. Great stuff! How is the bead in relation to a judge?
Pixel has a micro bead, haven’t held a Judge in years but I remember it being kinda like an Ion, with a pretty large bead. And thank you for checking us out! I really try to keep our reviews short and to the point, usually in the 3-4min range. This one was a bit longer, since there was more to talk about besides how it throws off the tee, such as hand feel, new plastic blend and putting.
This likes a great addition to the already fairly complete putter lineup in the MVP family. A touch slower than the Proxy, and I agree it looks more like a putt and approach putter than a driving putter. I've used the electron Nomad for putting and the Proxy and Envy a lot (in Eclipse 2.0 plastics) as throwing putters. I may switch to the Pixel as a putting putter.
Agreed, MVP and the brands have a very solid putter lineup, truly no bad options. Good variety of hand feel too, so people can find something that feels comfortable to them. Pixel may have similar flight numbers to other options, but hand feel is the other half of choosing a go to putter.
That’s the thing about putters, many MVP putters have similar flight numbers to Pixel, but it all comes down to hand feel and what makes you feel confident. This was designed for Simon’s needs and fans of deep dish putters will like this. If you’re throwing Pilots, Atom, etc, this may feel too deep. Definitely find one at a local store and see how it feels to you, once they release.
I have also been putting with ions (pink ones) since 2012. This is the first putting putter that has peaked my interest. How does it compare off the tee to the proxy?
This is where hand feel and preference come into play. If you are comfortable throwing a deep rim putter off the tee and can get a good, clean release, Pixel will have a pretty similar flight to a Proxy IMO. However for me, I much prefer the lower profile of the Proxy/Envy core for "driving putter" use, so I will definitely be sticking to those off the tee. I think that was the design intent with this disc tho, it's meant to be putt/approach. MVP/Axiom already have a SOLID lineup of low profile driving putters like Envy, Proxy, Watt, Ohm, Atom, Tempo, etc.
Been on a quest to find my new go to putters after p1s (could go back but I feel like there’s something out there I’d like more) …tried alpacas which I wanted to like but they don’t have the ‘that’s for me’ feel. Crush’s candy or butter seemed great but I picked up a few of these they feel great in hand but haven’t gotten out with me yet
Speaking MVP language, its a nice hybrid between the Ion and Anode, without the rounded inner rim. I know when Simon talked about the design process with Chad (MVP's disc engineer), he wanted something that reminded him of the P2 and P1X as those where the two putters he used the most and had confidence with. Comparing to other brands, I don't have much input as I am on Team MVP and don't really have experience with other brands too much.
I am hosting a tournament the end of February. I asked the players if they wanted a pixel or eagle envy as raffle prizes. Everyone asked for pixels as prizes.
Dang. I might have pre-ordered the wrong plastic. I decided recently that I really like a medium-soft putter and thought the slightly harder soft electron would be great. Nope. They changed it. Lol. It'll probably be fine, or at least worth trying.
This new blend of election, the rim feels a lot more durable tbh. After throwing and putting with these, I’m noticing less dings and dents unlock the old blend which would look like the surface of s golf ball after several chain hits.
@@chile98911 So the Ion and Anode share a core, Anode is basically a beadless Ion. Depth they are pretty spot on, Pixel may be a smidge deeper with a slightly higher shoulder, which enhances its glide/loft.
That will be a hand feel thing. I much prefer the lower profile stuff when I’m powering up on a putter, but flight wise the Pixel and Watt are very similar, it will just come down to your comfort level throwing a deeper putter. Putting Iv never putted with a watt as it doesn’t come in electron plastic yet.
So being on Team MVP I do not have much experience with Discmania stuff. However, the interviews I have seen with Simon and talking with Chad (MVP's disc engineer), it sounds like Simon was looking for a hybrid of the P2 and P1X, so that is the look and feel they were going with for the design.
If you have a local shop near you, definitely hold one first and see what you think when they release in the next month or so. I can definitely see the depth being an issue for some people, but it's what Simon wanted lol.
Yup, 95% of our reviews are filmed at Gulley. My favorite in OH is Caesar Ford, but I most frequent Gulley, Osage and Stonelick. I live in Maineville/Morrow area.
Release date announced! Feb 16th, 2024 🎉
Dude, this was a sweet video. Thank you.
I especially liked the comparison photos of the profile view of the different discs you were talking about.
Thank Mvp for having those stock photos available on their Amazon listings haha.

Not quite as soft as the super old school stuff, 2015ish, but it’s a step in the right direction!!
Conrad had a special edition nomad that is my current putter which I am eagerly awaiting the replacement of
Can’t wait to hold these! Thank you for the review!
I’ll be interested to see your review too, given you’re an Atom fan and these have a bit deeper feel.
Nice review! Excited to try these

Thanks for the review! Always helpful
Always glad to help!
This thing looks right up my alley… except I already putt and throw Ion, Anode and Spin, so I don’t really need to add a Pixel into the mix lol
Iv been putting with Ions for so long, I’m nervous. I’m too heavily invested haha, Iv got dozens of practice putters.
I can’t wait to get my pixel!
How does the “nose” of the disc feel? More round or similar more bullet nose like the Ion?
Pre-ordered along with a Total Eclipse Paradox.
The actually soft Electron (Med too) is what I want. I'll grab a Pixel to try and support Simon

Thanks. My issue with the Watt, so far, is that it goes too far. Would love a slower disc with same flight. Like a super straight Berg.@@TKDiscGolf
Any similarities to a P2? Hand feel? Anyone? Looks closer to a P1.

I have the smallest hands I've ever seen on an adult male. So this probably isnt for me. The pa3 is the upper limit of depth for me
