      I think you're onto something. Kelly-Anne's a professional online gambler, a trader, and a hacker. Her personality seems to be highly competitive, ambitious, aggressive in a calculating manner, obsessive, highly aware of her time management (her AI assistant handles her booked schedule) and possibly impatient as she was willing to take drastic measures to a prove something (dressing up as Camille in court to get the killer to "break" emotionally by waving at her while she was escorted out of court). ETA: And she's a model, so wearing "costumes" is second nature to her and likely easier to experience normative dissociation while becoming a different persona as she smiles amongst the flashes.

    Sorry but that's just a bad review..for one she's not even part of the jury, for second she doesn't really care about Clementine, they weren't "inseparable", and as a third the plot of the movie is more about her treading the edge of her sanity because she feels a connection to the killer, hence her courtroom costume and her taking pictures of herself in the house of the victim at the end. So much lacking from the review it's like you didn't understand the movie. I get the comments saying the movie sucked because well your review sucked.

    "That's what I love, seeing them lose everything." Kelly Anne was playing poker with Chevalier, Camille's family, Clementine and the authorities. Chevalier lost his claim to innocence, Camille's family was devastated by seeing the truth of their daughter's murder, the authorities looked inept by being gift wrapped hard evidence by a stranger, Clementine lost her belief in Chevalier's innocence. Even Kelly Anne lost her modeling career which was her real life version of going full tilt at the poker table when she cosplayed as Camille in the courtroom. Ultimately Kelly Anne won her jackpot by accomplishing her goal of everyone involved in her game losing everything, actually winning the Camille video and the added bonus of taking the selfie in Camille's bedroom. The game started with seeking out and buying access to real Red Rooms then turned into obsession once Chevalier was exposed and arrested. Kelly Anne felt personally attached to the case since she was there in essence from the beginning. A great film whose heart of darkness centered around a truly morally ambiguous central character in the beautiful, enigmatic Kelly Anne.

    • @toobaaaapi
      @toobaaaapi 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +71

      Actually everything she did made sense, she didn't start obsessing after watching the 3rd video, she was obsessing since the case first made headlines. She dressed like his victim in order to get a reaction out of him, which she did. If he really was innocent he would have given the same reactions other innocent people in the court gave, instead of waving back at her. He clearly was not horrified at all nor looked disturbed, he took interest, he responded, why? She wanted to watch the 3rd video for clearer evidence, which she got, she was a good person, despite being a weirdo. Her extreme obsession with this case, even dressing up like the victim, her strange social life despite being pretty and a model is clearly hinting here that she has had some similar experience in the past, she was the only one who knew how to toy with the killers mind and get a very convincing reaction out of him, she is clearly shown to have had experiences that have not been openly shown in the recap.

    I feel I just interpreted this movie differently? I felt early on that she had a personal connection to the case (abuse victim, knows someone who died this way etc) because she was incredibly hardened, angry, and threw away her career to solve this case. She appeared disgusted with clementine (the way she forced her to watch the videos) and never once smiled or expressed any “groupie”-ness at all. She was a very angry person (notice the many racket ball clips) and had a personal drive to solve this case (note her reaction to the bidding). The dressing up in court was to get him to look at her so she could see into his eyes (he stared down the whole time). She hated him wholeheartedly and wanted to see him burn. I thought it was super clear she wasn’t a serial killer groupie.

    Perhaps the film is about knowledge of good and evil. Allow me to explain.
    The protagonist is clearly disturbed by the realities of the crimes committed. She goes to extensive lengths to find the truth, sacrificing part of her sanity and health in the process. Without this sacrifice, the truth would have never come to light. The protagonist utilises her skills at poker and intellect to find am answer. She enters a form of hell (poker with the sickophants who want to watch the dark Web murder) and wins. The resolution to the evil comes about because one good person sacrifices part of themselves.
    We, the viewer are then left asking - how far would we go to ascertain the truth?

    Some serious plot issues with this film. Since when does a judge predetermine the length of a trial? I mean perhaps he was imposing a 2 month limit, and I understand why it was included in the movie so as to show how immersed the characters would unwittingly become, but it's silly. Even more upside down is around 10mins when the jurors are forbidden from watching the gore film but the family was made to stay. That's completely unrealistic. Normally, loved ones are not allowed to see videos due to the trauma it might cause, but jurors would need to see all admitted evidence pertinent to a case. Why would a jury be asked to leave without seeing evidence?? Stuff like this makes me quickly lose interest in a film. I can watch past bad acting and even some bad dialogue, but unless it's actually SciFi, I prefer the subject matter to be believable. Heck even Batman films know how to get it right.

  • @captassassin5680

    The entire movie is pointless. You can’t get a read on why the main character is doing anything. Is she slowly becoming obsessed with the killer, is her obsession murder, or did she change her mind after watching the 3rd video? Movies like this usually have a twist ending. I thought the homeless girl would either be the real killer or the accused daughter. At the most I thought the main character would be the actual killer. This was about as pointless as the plot to Raiders of the Lost Ark!
    One Last Thing: Why was she fired for playing online poker? She wasn’t breaking the law, and how’d her employers find out?! The fact that she got fired for it makes zero sense!

  • @HittokiriBattousai17

    Lame execution of a great idea. The only way this could have been a good movie is by having the main character becoming into Red Rooms and deciding she's going to sell the younger girl into that same ring in order to become one of them, short of like a loyalty test, and offer them, on top of it, the mother of one of the victims. She has more than enough motivations to seek fortune there, since she's clearly allured by this madness, and has enough knowledge about crypto and poker to money-launder operations...so everything clicks.
    They went with the safer, extremely bland choice. Like I said, lame.

      The basis of this movie is that Kelly Ann loves to see everyone lose and she even states this to Clemetine. Although she brings a murderer to justice, she also beats her competitors for the evidence, and terrorizes the victim's family all at once. Just like when she cosplayed as the victim in court, she not only got the reaction from the defendant, but also terrorized the victim's mother. She's a sadomasochist. She delights in the misery of others while fantasizing about her own death wishes.
