*I only curled the ends so you can see the layers. It still looks great straight :)

Hello my loves!! I was LONG OVER DUE for a hair cut :) I decided to do an update on how I cut layers in my hair!! It's been at least 2 years since I've had any angles or layers! I was loving my hair all one length but I wanted a change. Obviously its not a drastic change but between this and my haircut I gave myself the other day off camera - I took about 5 inches off the bottom & even more off the layers!!! My hair was down to my butt before this! I know you dont really get to see how Iong it is often - but for me this is a big change!! I hope this video helps for anyone who wants to try it at home!! Try at your own risk and have someone help you!!! As I mention above - If you have thinner hair I would see a professional. Since my hair is so thick the choppy layers always blend fine. XOXO Carli

Why are you endorsing this? You probably have sharp hair cutting shears you can use at home. Blunt kitchen scissors like Carli is using are so damaging to the hair shaft and cuticle. That's why after she cuts her hair it looks so frizzy and frayed at the ends which is the exact opposite of what a hair cut is supposed to do. (cosmetology student here)
Priscilla Nieto - shes not using kitchen scissors, they’re shears from the drugstore. Not everyone can afford $70+ professional scissors so let’s please be more respectful. I believe the original comment was in regard to her technique of cutting rather than tools.

Since I saw your first video about cuting your hair, I have realized that going to hairdresser for cuting layers only it's a waste of time and money, so I do cut my layers at home for a year now, and my hair looks much better!

Sounds odd but, there are methods you can use to appear this way... google it or even pinterest it. One is putting pads (yes pads) under or pantiliners...

Carli, in order to cut the top back more evened layered, just bring hair all the way forward nice & straight & cut a straight front slant upward, if that makes sense. More accurate. I too have been cutting my own hair since I was a teenager. No training but works well

Train your hair by washing ever other day or every three days. And it’s train your scalp to not to produce a lot of oil fast.

I've been asking professional hairstylists for "imperfect" layers for years because I enjoy that look and so many don't know what I'm talking about. I haven't been satisfied with the past several haircuts I've gotten, so I think I'm done paying others close to $100 to do it.

I've gotten pretty brave myself , since cutting my own hair. It grows a lot faster since you trim it more often at home . The only problem is getting scissor happy , but when you have long hair and a full head of hair . It's really not a problem. Again your hair looks great and healthy all the time . pinupgirldimples it’s like a dark neutral brown but her stylist does the darker one on the roots which is a Level 3 and the 4 I
On the rest of her hair, cuz after a while it fades a little so when she gets it done she retouches the ends too. I dye my hair with just a level 4N too from Redken buts a Demi no permanent hair color. If you go to Sally’s they sell it there the one she uses. But of course at the store. Or look at her old video to know the exact one. Let me see if I can link it, hold on. 😊💗

Hair looks so good with layers 👌👌👌 way more volume then having it one length
i tried cutting face framing layers into my dry, straightened hair and i got all OCD that one side wasn't even etc and kept going and going until i cut waaaaay too much off hahaha
so now i just found a reliable hair dresser that a friend recommended to me (and he had the best hair) and i just tell him EXACTLY what i want and i just have to trust :) finding a hard stylist you can trust is so tough tho. especially since I've lived all over the world and in some places where they don't speak english lol

But it would be better if it was blended more, so you can wear it straight
