I took a trip to Catalina Island for a Zoology and Botany class this last year of high school, and I distinctly remember the month changing from February to March on the overnight bus ride driving from my hometown to LA. There was no opportunity to go to Avalon (the small town on the island) during the trip, and we didn't get there until the next day, but this is still probably the closest I've ever been to StephenVlog geography-wise.
My dad used to work at the hospital on Catalina, so I got to visit the island on weekends! Beautiful place for a hike for sure ;3 glad you guys had a relaxing time
My exact reaction was, "Oh my gosh, that bird has no foot." Amputee-Bird seems okay with it, though. I guess as long as he can still fly, it's all good.
A couple years ago, I went with my family on vacation in Michigan, and we spent a day on Mackinac Island. This kind of reminded me of that--just take away the palm trees, and add a bunch of horses and fudge shops. (My brother and his wife went swimming, even though if you ask me it was WAY too cold.) The way the buildings are laid out, going up the hill, also kind of reminds me vaguely of Monaco.
I want to watch the full karaoke video, but I also don't know if I can handle it. I probably won't ever be prepared for it. Let's go, I guess. Also, the footage of Catalina Island is GORGEOUS. Just....agh. I know it's just a pretty island with good fish tacos, but this makes me really want to go to Catalina Island just to see the place myself and see if the footage does it justice.
I live near the Channel Islands, so I've been to Catalina and Santa Cruz on school field trips. In the 4th grade trip to Santa Cruz, I slipped and broke my ankle. I had to walk a mile back to the boat, because there is nothing on Santa Cruz island.
Don't worry Stephen. I never finished FFVII either. Got half way through Disk 3 and gave up. I was tired of managing my materia and grinding for final skills. Oh, and the "Gem" weapons. Forget that nonsense.
It's a type of resolution that is VERY good( Better than 1080p). If your computer and internet can run it, the video is very crisp and you can see a lot of details you wouldn't normally see in other resolutions.
How did you guys like Alex as the crew director? I went on the exact same cruise ship and I liked Alex a lot. I actually listened to a Q&A session with Alex before attending a rock show.

Late reply, but Catalina is an island off the coast of southern California, closest city and the place I've used as a port to get their would be Long Beach.
his spanish was actually pretty good! full sentences and correct grammar, though he wasn't saying anything particularly hard - probably more than doable after first-year spanish. but his accent was really good
HolyGrayle yeah, he mostly knows the basics. His sister is fluent in Spanish/working on French because she uses it for her research. :) I'm still impressed- he can order food and have simple conversations!
Larsern M "Vamos a ir" dosent mean let's go travel, it means "We're going" or "we're going to go." Also his accent is excellent especially for someone who isn't fluent
