    In nature the multi tool is great for many uses and can help to make snares with wire, in a pinch with the small wood saw, the small knife can be used for multiple things like small wood carving and food processing and many more tools for other jobs fishing it’s an essential tool.

    Great video! Thanks so much for showing your items, the brands and some hints on where to get them. Your items are much the same as we would put in our packs but entirely different brands. We don't see surplus military materials except from our own armed forces unless we buy online. When I was young (some 35-40 years ago) surplus stores were very common and they have a huge supply of a great selection of items but alas, no more. Such stores are far less common and they have fewer items typically. Thanks again, I have some new items to look for online!

I love you guys and I hope to run into you both someday on a camp

    Of all of the camping/outdoorsy type youtube channels, I really enjoy yours the most. Like you, I enjoy being outside, taking in this beautiful world and the fact that you two just do it with what you have on hand and can afford is great. Watching other guys use thousands of dollars worth of lightweight cutting edge gear is unrealistic to me because it's unattainable. Keep it up! I hope your channel grows so that one day it could be your primary income, just stay true to yourselves

    Awesome video again! Ive had an idea for a video for my channel, but feel free to use the idea. Basically have a synthetic materials vs natural materials. So you would have only wool, feathers, and cloth for one person then the other person has only polyester, polyethylene, spandex etc. This would be for clothes, and sleeping materials. (no tents though)

    Great videos these guys make and this one was no exception. The only thing extra I would suggest in their First Aid Kit is a couple of tubes of super glue and a small bottle of Betadine. I slipped fell onto my knees very hard. The flesh over my right knee cap was cut through to the bone and peeled back. A friend flushed the wound with Betadine then used Super Glue to seal the wound shut and it worked. No bleeding, weeping or infection and kept the wound closed for four days until I could do further first aid.

    • @SmoothGefixt
      @SmoothGefixt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Instead of betadine, I do actually carry Sterilon, it's said to be less harming for the tissue. Mmh, Super glue interesting application. Thanks for sharing!

    • @Templemain
      @Templemain 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Smooth. Truth be told I was a bit weary of being stuck back together with super glue but I found later that the USA troops in war zones use it often for quite nasty wounds to get combatants to a medical facility.

    Guys I already have the victorianox Hiker and the Bahco Laplander, why is our gear so similar?? :'D For a replacement shovel I'd check out the cold steel Shovel, Zackery Fowler has used it a ton in his video's and it is the next thing to get for me. Lofty Wiseman (Ex SAS member) recommends a good Kukri so no complaints there :) .
    Good video but a lot of very expensive gear and quite long. Happy to have watched it. Thanks for letting us know about Vaude, I've checked out a bit of their stuff and it looks good.

      thanks Aaron! we intend on keeping everything we buy for a long time! better to get the best you can afford.. also alot has been collected over quite some time;) Seen fowlers shovel, not sure if its that great for snow though;) Cheers. Dylan

      Fowler just uploaded a video with his testing the shovel in the snow, see how it handles it. th-cam.com/video/UL6xV_I78cw/w-d-xo.html

      Aait! Thanks Aaron. I suppose the Fowler shovel is great for all-round purposes, including shoveling a bit of snow. That way its very versatile that's what wel like right;) But I have to say: piling up a quinzee heap for example, would maybe take 2-3 times longer than an avalanche shovel, against that hollowing the quinzee out the foler shovel might not do so bad. Difficult one;) Funny that our gear is so simmilar: makes us both happy with what we have I gues:) Many thanks for the input Aaron! See you arround! Cheers, Julius

    Great vid as usual guys :) But titanium spork expensive? Here in Sweden they're like 16 eur which is well worth it considering how easy it is to break the plastic ones... :D

      Smooth Gefixt yes, i don't want you to be still and talk, but maybe some challenges or one vs one... Knife testing... Something like that, i know some people don't like that, but i don't pretend that you have to do a lot of them; just more so the content is more various. Thank you so much for replying.
