You need to go 20 odd miles down the road from Newcastle to Esh Winning, even Michael Portillo visited Fields at Esh Winning on his Railway Journey tours. Because it is one of only five coal powered ranges left in the Country, for Fish and Chips, and they cook them in Beef Dripping. There is a Coal Powered Fish and Chips at Beamish Museum, but you have to pay to tour the Museum, and they are very expensive . But if your kids need a grand day out Beamish Museum would be the place to try chips cooked in Beef Dripping .

South African roadhouse burgers are the king. Double pattie, smoked ham,egg,bacon,spicy cheese,onions, lettuce,tomatoes and piccalilli sauce.No roadhouse in England..really miss them..prices were low too.
The only place I eat in Toon, you should have tried the special (Boudin, with black pudding), a burger made in heaven! Beef dripping fries are to die for, no sauce required.

@@stevesteve5785 I don't smoke weed unless I'm in California because I really don't know anybody out here and there's this stuff called K2 that I'm really scared of cuz people are dying off of it and sometimes people get given weed with K2 in it so when I'm in Washington DC I don't smoke weed at all but when I go to California I smoke weed definitely I love the holistic way of taking care of depression or anxiety and if anybody has any eating disorders you know bulimia or anorexia it really helps I don't suffer from any of those things by the way I just think smoking marijuana is the best way to handle a lot of health issues

My aunt always did her chips in dripping and they definitely taste better.A lovely server and that helps a lot.I even enjoy raspberry jam sandwiches or on toast.
